@whatalearningcurve oh no! I had that first time around at 26 weeks but it turned out to be nothing, hope it's the same for you too.

WhatALearningCurve · 26/10/2018 20:49

@Murphyrocks what did it end up being with you? Not having any scans done till the morning so just sort of waiting here ha

Murphyrocks · 26/10/2018 21:02

Turned out to just be baby pinching a nerve, got sent home with some super strong painkillers and was much better by the morning.

Wineandchoccy · 26/10/2018 21:34

Ouch hope you are ok @WhatALearningCurve and it doesn’t turn out to be appendicitis.

I have got heart burn Sad 1st time I have had it this pregnancy but really suffered last time.

HidCat · 26/10/2018 21:53

@WhatALearningCurve fingers crossed it's a false alarm but glad they're checking you out.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 26/10/2018 22:14

Hope they find out what is going on soon @whatalearningcurve

Angelmiracle · 26/10/2018 23:35

@WhatALearningCurve really hope you're ok and it's not appendicitis!! Are you really sick or just a lot of pain?

Thank you everyone for the congratulations. They're doing really well and should get out home today (their Saturday lol).

Congratulations Auntie @Angelmiracle οΏΌοΏΌ οΏΌοΏΌοΏΌand enjoy every second of your big day tomorrow @AssumeItWasSomethingClever! Take it easy and remember if you need a breather then do take one!

@WhatALearningCurve fingers crossed it's a false alarm! Keep us updated won't you!

melissa112 · 27/10/2018 09:51

@WhatALearningCurve hope you're ok! Hope the scans show it's not appendicitis!

Does anyone plan to paint while pregnant? We're getting a new sofa delivered on Tuesday and OH is planning on painting the living room today before it comes. The living room and stairs aren't separate so he'll be doing stairs and landing too. I'm going to stay at my nans today and tonight. It's a dulux low VOC water based emulsion. Do you think baby will be ok if I go back home tomorrow? I'm really worried about fumes

WhatALearningCurve · 27/10/2018 09:54

Just been told I'm being scanned at 11 so should know more then. Just bored now though!

@melissa112 in terms of painting - this is what I can see online

β€’	Choose a paint labeled "low-VOC" or "zero-VOC." These are usually latex paints that contain lower levels of solvents, or "volatile oil compounds." (Even the zero-VOC products may still contain some solvents.)
β€’	Make sure you have good ventilation. Keep the windows open to avoid inhaling paint fumes.
β€’	Don't eat or drink in the room where you're painting to avoid accidentally ingesting any paint.
β€’	Leave the area immediately if you experience symptoms like dizziness, nausea, or headache.

If you're the one painting, take these precautions as well while working:
β€’ Wear a respirator mask to screen out particles and fumes. (These are available in home improvement stores.)
β€’ Wear gloves, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt to protect your skin.

melissa112 · 27/10/2018 10:02

@WhatALearningCurve thank you for that. Judging by all that, if I'm not even in the house while the painting is going on and overnight too then hopefully all will be ok. Don't know if I'm just being paranoid?

Fingers crossed for your scan. Must feel like such a long wait after being there so long! Hope all goes ok

SquirtlesMumAgain · 27/10/2018 10:10

We painted DS's room when I was pregnant. Was still in the house just obviously didn't stay in that room overnight.
Just make sure you keep windows open during the day and it will be fine.

melissa112 · 27/10/2018 10:24

@SquirtlesMumAgain thank you. Think I'm just more worried as it's the living room so can't really avoid it but hopefully after a day and night it'll be fine. I suppose many people have painted or had decorating done when pregnant.

Marmite2018 · 27/10/2018 11:40

@melissa112, we painted our living room a week or so ago, I helped to do the painting (with napping in between 🀣) haven't had any concerns myself!

melissa112 · 27/10/2018 12:29

@Marmite2018 oo I feel very reassured by this!my paranoid brain is more at ease Smile

Wineandchoccy · 27/10/2018 12:45

We decorated most of our house whilst I was pregnant last time and all was ok I’m fact we did our bedroom twice because pregnancy hormones made me pick a hideous colour and I made DH repaint after a week Grin

HidCat · 27/10/2018 15:55

Just had a friend drop two bags of girls clothes in for the baby! I can't get over the generosity of people, so lush!

melissa112 · 27/10/2018 16:16

@Wineandchoccy haha that made me laugh! Thank you ladies, I feel a lot better about the situation now!

@HidCat oh wow that's brilliant. So nice of your friend.

@WhatALearningCurve hope your scan went ok this morning.

WhatALearningCurve · 27/10/2018 16:18

Doctors just been. They couldn’t see any fluid on the scans which is good. So they’re going to repeat my bloods later and see what my infection and inflammation markers are like. If they’re the same / better then it seems the antibiotic drip I’m on is working so they’ll do another one of them. If they’re worse then they’ll assess if they need to do the camera investigation. So I'm definitely in for another night but there's a chance I can go home tomorrow

But most importantly. I’m now allowed to eat which is amazing as I hadn't eaten since Thursday tea time!

Wineandchoccy · 27/10/2018 16:30

That’s great @HidCat I love a freebie and newborn stuff is hardly worn so always in good condition

Wineandchoccy · 27/10/2018 16:31

@WhatALearningCurve Enjoy your food and great news about your scan. Hope you are home soon x

melissa112 · 27/10/2018 17:07

@WhatALearningCurve that sounds like good news. Fingers crossed that you can go home tomorrow.

BadBadBeans · 28/10/2018 15:48

@WhatALearningCurve I hope you are feeling better - I can't believe you had to go without food for nearly 48 hours! How on earth did you manage? I would have been an absolute wreck. I can barely go 4 hours awake without food when NOT pregnant, let alone halfway through a pregnancy...

@HidCat congratulations on your scan! I think we're actually fairly even for boys and girls on this thread now... Maybe two or three more boys?

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I hope you had a wonderful wedding yesterday.

@AngelMiracle congratulations on becoming an aunty!

I've been hit with exhaustion again. I did nothing yesterday but just felt knackered all day. DS went to sleep at 7.55pm last night and by 8.15pm I was fast asleep in my own bed, having intended to 'just read a chapter and then get up and be useful'. I woke up when DH came to bed at 11pm, and cleaned my teeth, went back to bed and slept through till 5am, when DS woke me up (having not received the memo that the clocks had changed and that it wasn't 6am!). Basically had 10 hours' sleep, though. Total bliss. I feel so much better today.

I'm wavering on whether or not to find out the sex. Scan is next week so I don't have long to decide!

WhatALearningCurve · 28/10/2018 15:50

@BadBadBeans well the first 24 I was okay because I didn't feel great. The second 24 were horrific but made much better when I got the go ahead to eat and my mum brought me chippy tea ha.

I'm still in hospital unfortunately. There’s still infection markers in my blood but they’re getting better so looks like the IV antibiotics have been enough to treat it so I’ll have another dose tonight and in the morning and then have more bloods taken and see what those results say. Hopefully I'll be able to go home then!

HidCat · 28/10/2018 16:34

@WhatALearningCurve I'm glad things are improving, fingers crossed the second drip works and you can go home ASAP.
