LilyLoo · 07/07/2007 09:53

Happy rainy Saturday everyone.
I managed to speak to my manager at work yesterday, and cleared the air. Also came up with a few good ideas in September which she really liked so think she may be a bit more appreciative in Sept. If not hey it's nearly sumer hols and then only three months till i finish.
Glad everything went well Naetha.
Katy interesting stuff there esp so many more first timers. Gingeme think you will be the fountain of advice.
I hope everyone else ok

MamaMaiasaura · 07/07/2007 10:05

Sun is shining here today tho so will make the most of the weather.

nicky6 · 07/07/2007 16:42

i am one of the ones that got missed and i dont know how to amend the list
i am 35 and a first timer due date 28/1/08 but no dating scan etc yet, scan on 19th july.

have weirdly switched to being sick in the evening whats all that about.

cannot wait until i can tell people. maybe that will explain why i look so spotty (never get spots) and grey looking.

Pbirdy ? lovely to hear the heart beat, I can?t wait for that I often would rather re-arrange my knicker drawer than go to work can?t blame the pregnancy for the sentiment though!

Katyt1 ? have fun with the in-laws

Awen ? so hope mine?s as clear as yours. Hope you don?t get too lonely without DP.

Nicky6 ? that yucky stage will pass I promise, my skin and hair were so greasy until a couple of weeks ago, normally they are on the dry side. Hope the sickness abates soon too, when I get it, it can hit any time of day, especially if I?m tired. Take care.

Lilyloo ? bet you feel much better now

nicky6 · 07/07/2007 19:54

thanks awen for adding me in again and mrs mc.

I think you are right about the tiredness thing as no sick today at all and have done absolutely nothing all day - there is a moral in that story somewhere must tell dh

toomanyshoes · 07/07/2007 20:54

hello all, glad you're back and had a good time MrsMcJnr!

All ok here, sickness completely gone (am now 14+3) and feeling lots of flutters now which is lovely. Have had another bout of the middle ear infection I had a few weeks ago though so have no sense of balance and room spins when I move my head! Can't take anything for it because of the pregnancy though so just waiting for it to go away!

Have been looking into going private for the birth as very concerned about our local hospital (whipps cross in leytonstone)but nearest place seems to be the Portland and if there was traffic it could take an hour and a half to get there. 1st labour was quick so don't want to risk giving birth in back of car! Think I might stay with my mum for the last few weeks of my pregnancy as i could give birth at Addenbrookes in Cambridge. Its either that or a home birth and DH very anxious about the prospect of that!!

Naetha, so pleased op went well, hope you are enjoying the sofa!

Bella & Awen - glad I'm not the only one with odd dreams. Mine have been absolutely filthy recently!! Have been waking up blushing, and I don't blush easily!

PBirdy - make the most of any nesting instincts, I just keep looking at the piles of washing, cluttered cupboards and then turning on the telly, am rubbish.

Big wave to everybody else, hope you're all out in the garden having a glass of wine (even if it is non alcoholic!)

gingeme · 08/07/2007 20:00

Hi ladies. Hope you had a good weekend. We went to a fair today and I couldnt go on anything mind you I would have only felt sick anyway but I do love the bumper cars .
Got my scan tomm at 9am. Cant wait. Going on my own this time as dh will be taking ds3 to school.
Just checked out that new list. Makes me seem very greedy being the only 5th timerWell take care all x

LilyLoo · 08/07/2007 21:47

Well that's got to be a first only one post all day
Well i have truly hit the point of no return, my trousers no longer fit and my maternity stuff is much too big. Looks like it jogging bottoms foor a few weeks, although not sure work will appreciate that tommorrow. The only thing i can get into is a pair of white / cropped linen trousers which are ok but not when it's bloody raining all the time !
What's everyone else wearing ?

plummymummy · 08/07/2007 23:22

Hi everyone. Back from holiday. I just read the thread to catch up on the last 7 days and you have no idea how long that took - you guys sure can talk! Unfortunately I have forgotten most of the stuff I just read Anyway, welcome back Mrs McJ - glad your hol went well. Good luck with the nuchal Naetha - great news re op and scan. Beckyau - sorry to hear about your cat. Hope he gets better soon. Don't think you should worry about your blood results as statistically you are more likely to be one of the 699 women who are fine Glad you got to see your baby Bwmum - glad your scan went well too. Can't remember who was talking about Capricorns being stubborn but I agree - I'm one of them They are loyal too though (and modest!). My nausea has gone and appetite returned a bit. Less headaches but now have a throat infection so don't know which is worse! I now have a distinct bump - in fact it is pretty large. I am only 11 weeks so it is very early for a bump. My stomach muscles must be shot I think I was about 4 months before I started to show with ds. I have also been imagining baby movements as I have been getting sensations at night like fetal movements. I say imagining because it can't possibly be happening this early. Angechica - what about hypnotherapy to combat fear of flying? I would consider this as I too am scared of flying (ever since pg with ds - never worried about it before)though never used drugs - just alcohol. This time I couldn't drink so I just did deep breathing every time we went through clouds.

I have my scan weds 18th and a midwife appt on saturday.

beller · 09/07/2007 08:01

Morning all!

Had a great weekend, but busy! Was in Southampton visitng my godson, he was in the local carnival and was fab ( hes 4). Also a weekend of concerts...saw Seal at the tower of london friday and Justin Timberlake last night at the o2! He was totally amazing, and boy can he move
I have a drop in session witht he local council tonight for people that want to open a nursery/day care, so looking forward to that. No word from ex, apart from a call a week and a bit ago when he got back from vegas....so definately heading into things alone i think, but I had come to that conclusion a while back i think!

Pbirdy - Yay for the heartbeat!! I have to go back a week today for my results from nuchal scan (ages to wait!) wonder if i can get them to let me listen!! I have also gone into nesting mode a bit early. My BIL starts decorating spare rooms tomorrow, one which is going to be the nursery, so all excited!!

Lillyloo Glad you cleared the air at work, must be a weight of you mind. Some of my maternity wear is too big too, but i have some trousers that have that button elasticated bit and i find if i pull that to tightest they stay up, or wear a belt? Makes everything a bit bulky though xx

Awen - Hope the 2 weeks go quickly xxx

Toomanyshoes - Cant wait for flutters, i keep thinking i can feel something when i go to bed, im 15+4 with first, so doubt it?

Gingeme- Good luck for the scan xxxxxxxx

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2007 09:33

Gingeme - Good luck for scan today

Anyone else gots scan etc this week?

Hi Beller - I live in Southampton Weather wasnt too bad down here this weekend.

Re the clothes thing, totally understand. Some of maternity stuff does fit, tops and an elasticated skirt which is lovely. Got some long shorts from Dorothy Perkins and got the side buttons done up to the tightest so they have lots of room for growth.

Plummy - my muscles are shot too - have a bump and also my tummy isa sticking out too . Am 15 weeks now and still feel fluttering type feelings. My sister said is baby, I think it might be wind but is only when i am lying quietly i feel it.

Missing my DP, he called me Sunday at 4am to let me know he had arrived. Also had an email from him. Is about 5.30pm there now so might get a call this morning

nicky6 · 09/07/2007 11:19

glad to hear everyone had a good weekend - great tennis - not normally a big watcher but this weekend i barely moved.

no sick today hooray - however woke up with most unattractive cold sore - went to chemist who said its ok to use zovirax so am trying to zap the little blighter before it takes over my head.

good luck to all those with scans next week mine next thursday.

`As i am still in denial although some of my suits no longer fit i have not bought anything new/maternity just waiting til end of next week when they tell me i am not imagining it and then i will turn my attention to buying a suit that i dont need a paper clip to keep together!!

MrsMcJnr · 09/07/2007 11:35

Morning all we have sun today! Shame I can only look at it through glass!

Nicky6 ? I think I am getting to the stage now that all the relaxing is making me tired actually, had quite a busy and productive weekend in the house. We are trying to sell up and the house has been on the market for months with estate agents but hasn?t gone so we are changing agents to get on the Solicitors? property website (I live in Scotland) in the hope that we find the right type of buyers there. We had lots of work in the garden to do and I packed away all the clothes that are already too small (and those that were before I got pg ) to make room for all the mat clothes I have borrowed from my sis and the nice new ones I bought on holiday. I can?t wait to start wearing them, especially the shirts. Not long now until I can come clean at the office and start changing my wardrobe ? they?ve probably all been on to me for months! Hope the cold sore goes away soon.

Toomanyshoes ? thanks that?s great about the sickness! And flutters wow! How horrible your ear infection sounds DH has one at the mo too. I got them a lot when I was little ? agony. Get better soon Sorry to hear about your hospital ? what?s wrong with it? (just out of interest) my sis had a home birth last year, she rented a birthing pool, she said it was incredible and she?d highly recommend it. My dreams are getting too much ? last night they were SO vivid and strange

Gingeme ? hope the scan went well this morning very exciting, looking forward to hearing how you got on. I think its fab that you are a 5th timer I always wanted 4 but now I?m just hoping I get at least this one! I?m 34 in December so I may be pushing it to have 3 more I guess. Both my Mum and MIL are one of 5 and they have such great childhood stories (and our families are like rent a crowd!).

Lilyloo ? I hear you on the clothes front, when it goes quiet in here, I can hear the sound of the zip on my trousers creeping down this is the last time I can wear them I think and they are my last pair of work trousers that fit

Hey PlummyMummy ? hope you had a lovely holiday. I?m a Capricorn too, I am stubborn but not as bad as my DH who is an Aquarian ? really, early or late, this baby is going to be stubborn! I agree with you about loyalty, we are, with a tendency to care too much about what people think. We are also hard working and persevering ? it?s the goat in us! Sorry about the throat infection, take good care. Roll on 18/7!

Hello Beller sounds like you had a lovely weekend at you seeing JT ? any mileage out of that on the dreams front? Hope the session tonight goes well at the Council. You?re not alone, you have us!

Hello Awen I?ve got my Nuchal on Thursday. Nervous actually. It seems so long since I saw the baby at 8 weeks and although it sounds so negative, you can?t help but fear that there just won?t be anything there or that things have not gone the way they should sorry to put a downer on things. I only feel this way because of past experience not from how I really feel about this baby ? I do think it is ok really Sorry you are missing your DP x

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2007 12:28

Can understand being worried about Nuchal. Seeing that people on here had lost babies made me feel nervous. Once you see little bean bouncing around you will feel so much better. It is the what ifs that creep in, but you know it is probably all ok and little bean is doing just fine Dont worry about being 34 - you can still fit 4 in

I am 32 at the weekend.. dont know where all the time has gone.

MrsMcJnr · 09/07/2007 13:00

Thanks awen hon maybe this baby will have it's birthday before mine!

plummymummy · 09/07/2007 13:38

Hi ladies. Hope to hear good news from gingeme later. I needed that holiday. Before I left I was having really negative thoughts to the point I was actually depressed. Kept imagining I am carrying around a dead baby. Horrible. Feel a lot
better now, though still anxious. If all goes well next wednesday I am thinking of buying/renting a fetal doppler monitor as I can't carry on like this for the next 6 months.

plummymummy · 09/07/2007 13:40

Mrs McJ I will be 36 when this baby is born and I have not ruled out a 3rd, so I'm sure you can have 4 if you so wish

leCodgy · 09/07/2007 13:45

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted for a while but i'm not very good at keeping up with these antenatal threads! I had my scan last Thursday and all was well it moved my due date forward to 6th January . The scan pic was the best i've ever had you can see the hands so clearly you can count fingers! I have to go for my triple test on the 18th then to the thrombo clinic on the 20th as I have antiphospholipid syndrome. I don't know what they do there I'm on 75 mg of asprin daily anyway but i'll soon find out. Anyway good luck for those who have their scans coming up. I'll try to post more frequently in future.

plummymummy · 09/07/2007 13:56

Good news about your scan lecodogy. Hope all goes well with your thrombo appt.

MrsMcJnr · 09/07/2007 14:15

Sounds like you are in a good place Plummy

leCodgy - Congratulations! What an amazing scan incredible to see hands and fingers ? at how many weeks was that? Hope all goes well with your triple test and the thrombo clinic. I?m on aspirin and clexane for thrombophilia and though I was at the clinic weekly for the first 6 weeks, I go monthly now just to get my blood levels checked.

leCodgy · 09/07/2007 14:24

Thanks MrsMcJnr. My scan was when I was 13+4 so they'll take my blood in the thrombo clinic will they? What with my booking in bloods , my triple test and thrombo clinic i'm going to feel like a pin cushion!

MrsMcJnr · 09/07/2007 14:48

Ohhh I have my nuchal at a private clinic on Thursday and I?ll be 13+2 ? am so hoping all is ok, little hands would be so lovely to see too! don?t know for sure but they may well take your blood ? I know what you mean about being a pin cushion, when I was going weekly sometimes my veins just refused to give any ? the irony is that I really hate needles but I am getting better!
