@since2016, this is number 2 and definitely the last! Both were ivf and we’ve run out of embryos (and cash!) so counting our blessings. I’m one of three though and think it works well.

MakeLemonade · 31/08/2018 21:12

Number three and def done. Just need to persuade DH to get a vasectomy!

powkin · 31/08/2018 21:28

Hi everyone. So, we got the CVS result back earlier than we expected. No Triploidy, Downs, Edwards or Patau. Still don’t know what’s caused the crazy crazy hormone levels but I suspect my kidneys are the problem. The GP was meant to have sent me for a scan weeks ago but I chased today and she had forgotten to do the paperwork so they sent it today.

I am obviously enormously relieved but still feel nervous about the hormone levels and whether there is something else wrong that they can’t measure with the CVS. I’ll see the consultant for another scan on the 13th September for 16 weeks and then have another scan again at 20 weeks so maybe I’ll feel a bit safer once I reach that milestone and things are OK. It’s been such an upsetting and exhausting rollercoaster and there’s still no “answers” so I feel like I can’t fully relax.
So, good news for now at least but still scared!

powkin · 31/08/2018 21:29

And this is number 1 and even if it’s perfectly healthy I’m not sure I can go through this again!

bubblybrit · 31/08/2018 21:31

@powkin. So pleased to hear that everything is ok so far! Hopefully you get the peace of mind that you need at your next scan x

Yakadee · 31/08/2018 21:32

That sounds promising though. I bet it's been such a hard wait.

Hopefully it's nothing serious and you'll get to the bottom of it soon. Xx

Surprisedmom · 31/08/2018 21:33

@powkin I am really pleased there’s been some good news for you, I hope that the hospital find out the cause of the high hormones soon. I also hope you and your OH can use your holiday to relax a little now

MakeLemonade · 31/08/2018 21:42

That’s great news @powkin - I hope your follow up and kidney appointments are positive also 🤞🏼 Have a good holiday x

IndiX · 31/08/2018 21:52

Lulabell1 · 31/08/2018 22:16

Second night in a row where im laying in bed and i feel like my whole body is spinning around on a rollercoaster whats going on

hayley013 · 31/08/2018 22:26

@powkin that's good news, hope you can go and enjoy your holiday and have a bit of timeout.

This is our 2nd and definite last!! I said I wouldn't do it again after DD but had obviously forgot all of this over the last 4 years haha, but I absolutely do not want another xx

Notquiteagandt · 31/08/2018 22:27

@powkin thats reassuring i bet. Enjoy your holiday and a much needed destress Flowers

maxiflump1 · 31/08/2018 22:29

@powkin I'm so pleased to read your update. What a stressful few days for you all. Let's hope they can get to the bottom of it soon. Are u still have off to the US this weekend?? If so hope you have a lovely holiday x

OP posts:
powkin · 31/08/2018 22:35

@maxiflump1 yes off to US of A tomorrow. Luckily our flight is late afternoon as I haven’t packed! Way too much on my mind and have sort of collapsed in a puddle on the sofa this evening (had to take cat to cattery too sob!).

Everything is ironed and hardly any of my clothes fit so shouldn’t be too hard! 🤣

Bit nervous about flying and being away but in big cities and have really good travel insurance so nothing to worry about really.

Baby160P · 01/09/2018 00:51

Lovely news @powkin

Just had my first sober night out out after waking from 4am with heart burn I'm impressed I lasted to 12:30am.

Now for a lay in 🤞🏼

twiglet · 01/09/2018 04:23

@powkin I'm so glad to read your update and it's not the worst that they had prepared you for!
Have an amazing holiday and destress! My midwife gave me a tip of flight socks and ankle exercises(just rotate your feet) for medium and long haul flights when pregnant.

I'm havomy usual wide awake 3-5am episode no idea why they are pretty much the norm now.

MrsY87 · 01/09/2018 07:11

@powkin so pleased to hear your positive news, hope you can now enjoy your holiday!

These two will definitely definitely be our last, Once they are here DH is getting the snip asap!

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/09/2018 07:51

That's great news powkin! I hope you can relax at least enough to enjoy your holiday!

Since2016 absolutely not, this is 110% the last baby for me. This pregnancy has been horrible so far (sickness wise) and I don't want to go through it again. DH wants to get the snip a year or so after the baby's born!

UndercoverLauren · 01/09/2018 08:18

@powkin That's great news! Hopefully the hormone thing will turn out to be nothing Flowers

clairehr · 01/09/2018 08:29

So pleased you have had some positive news @powkin hopefully they'll get to the bottom soon for you. Enjoy your holiday!

@Twiglet 3-5am is my wide awake phase too, only happened the last week or so!

This is #1 for me, but have 2 step sons too. Other half said only one more when we were trying, but has changed his mind and would like another. Although I'm not convinced I could cope if both of mine turned out to be boys too - 4 of them running around the house sounds crazy 😂

twiglet · 01/09/2018 09:46

@clairehr it's fairly frustrating mainly as I'm left knackered for work. I generally lie for over an hour then get up potter about (last night I cleaned the bath Confused) and then go back to bed when feeling tired again!

Baby160P · 01/09/2018 09:49

I just don't 'feel' pregnant. So worried for thr heartbeat listening Wednesday, I'm sure it's normal to feel 'ok' but I do worry before all appointments!!!

Surprisedmom · 01/09/2018 09:55

@Baby160P I totally understand that feeling. I guess until we start feeling movements the second trimester can feel like you’re not really pregnant you’re just delusional.

Yakadee · 01/09/2018 10:17

I've only really just started feeling proper movement but it's not all the time or every day even. It makes me stop in my tracks every time though as catches me off guard lol x

Baby160P · 01/09/2018 10:53

@Surprisedmom completely agree. I am congested and have heartburn but these are all things you can have in normal life anyway.

@Yakadee how far along are you? We're 15+3 but I also have a anterior placenta so am likely to not feel for a while.
