Thank you so much @39Suzy xxx
I just keep thinking everything over. It's driving me mad.

clared55 · 14/10/2018 16:40

Hi all, can see this thread has been going for a while but hope you don't mind me joining. I'm due on 12th April and it'll be our first baby. We had a long journey to get here so it was so reassuring to see a healthy baby at the dating scan! Congratulations to you all!

italianwifey · 14/10/2018 17:07

@treaclepie19 hope you’re as okay as you can be, will
Be thinking of you tomorrow.
Welcome @clared55 and congrats! I have the same due date as you :-)

Treaclepie19 · 14/10/2018 17:24

Thank you @italianwifey. Im so nervous.
For now I can hope it's all a big mistake and my blood results bring the risk down and the NIPT comes back normal.
I'm so scared :(

clared55 · 14/10/2018 17:56

@italianwifey lovely to have a due date buddy!

@treaclepie19 hope you get good news tomorrow - the waiting can't be easy

jellybeann · 14/10/2018 19:49

hiya, hopping on board this thread with a bit of a predicament!

im 15+5, and have had pretty bad sickness since around 4/5 weeks. the last few days it has only gotten worse, and since thursday i had been unable to keep anything down at all so ended up in hospital over night last night with fluids, anti-sickness etc.

i've been sent home with some anti-sickness meds, but have just done a little bit of research and found that the manufacturer does not recommend them during pregnancy (as they had not tested them themselves on pregnant women). all studies of the drug i have found online says there are little-no risks, especially after 12 weeks. i thought i'd take them for the next day or two until i can see my gp and discuss this with them, but now i'm worried i am doing the wrong thing? without them i cant even keep water down, so would just end up back in hospital, but of course i don't want to harm my little bean! any advice? :(

italianwifey · 14/10/2018 21:57

@jellybeann you poor thing that sounds awful. I don’t really know what advice to give but I’m sure they wouldn’t give them to you if they thought it would harm the Baby. I’m sure I’ve read a previous post linked to this. You could maybe check out some of the hyperemesis (no clue how to spell that sorry) threads as the ladies there prob have some more experience of the antisickness medication? Hope you’re okay though and they are giving you some relief?

Griffer · 14/10/2018 22:00

Sorry you are still feeling bad @jellybeann. My sister had it similar to you at 15 weeks. She did take the medication (and had a healthy baby boy). No drugs are tested on pregnant women, so no medication says it is safe during pregnancy.
Women who take medication whilst pregnant, are monitored and any ill-effects are recorded. Drugs that are prescribed to pregnant women, have had no recorded increase in ill effects to babies than those of women who do not take the medication. They won't say it's safe, as it's not been through clinical testing. Some companies cover themselves by saying that the drugs they make for the purpose of giving to pregnant women, are not advised to be given to pregnant women.
It's got to be a balance of risk. What is higher risk, being admitted to hospital, or take the medication. It's got to be your decision, albeit an informed one, so do discuss it with your GP.
I hope it passes soon and you start to feel better.

Treaclepie19 · 14/10/2018 22:10

@clared55 thank you, it's driving me mad.
It's only been 3 working days as well and the NIPT takes about 10.
I hope I can look back at all this and just think what an awful time it was and how we got through it with a healthy baby.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 15/10/2018 00:41

@Treaclepie19 thinking of you, did you say you have a consultant meeting today?
My scan was all good, little baby wiggling away but will have to wait for results if the blood tests. Fingers crossed.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 15/10/2018 00:42

I’m posting so late because I can’t sleep... rain is so noisy

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 15/10/2018 07:03

Good luck today treacle, you’ve already been through so much it doesn’t seem fair. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you x

monkerina · 15/10/2018 07:32

Good luck today @Treacle, I hope your appointment is helpful. In a month's time you'll be able to look back at this as an awful time but one that passed, however slowly xx

MigMog · 15/10/2018 07:44

Just landed in the second trimester today! 14 weeks. It's gone so quick

Treaclepie19 · 15/10/2018 08:47

Thank you everyone ❤
Yeah I'm seeing the consultant today. I'll let you know what they say but they won't know much more I don't think.

jellybeann · 15/10/2018 09:46

@italianwifey thank you ill definitely check it out!! they are working absolutely perfectly so far :)

@griffer thank you so much for explaining that to me!! i will definitely talk to my gp about it, and ill bring it up with my midwife on thursday at my 16 week appointment

@treaclepie19 thinking of you, hoping everything goes well for you!! x

ashley992 · 15/10/2018 18:07

@Treaclepie19 hope everything has gone as well as it could for you today Thanks

Treaclepie19 · 15/10/2018 18:09

Thank you ❤
We don't know much more, as expected. Have another appointment Monday to get the NIPT results and have an amnio. The risk from the combined test is greater than 1 in 5. They did another scan and baby looks fine but still has the fluid on the neck.

newrubylane · 15/10/2018 18:24

Thinking of you @Treaclepie19 x

Annie264 · 15/10/2018 19:25

Sending hugs Treacle xxx

Annie264 · 15/10/2018 19:26

Wonder if Meghan will join our group...sounds like she's expecting at the same time as us 🤣

SPR1107 · 15/10/2018 19:32

Hope you get some more answers on Monday @Treaclepie19. Thinking of you x

ashley992 · 15/10/2018 19:59

Is anyone else not feeling pregnant anymore? I don't know if I should be happy the symptoms have gone and put it down to the second trimester or if it's a cause for concern?! My biggest symptom was sore boobs. They are now just a touch tender, nowhere near what they were like in first trimester as I can lay on my front to sleep.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 15/10/2018 21:34

My boobs are much better Ashley, not as tired either but still retching and occasionally being sick urgh :(

5tarlight · 15/10/2018 21:35

@Annie264 who's to say she's not already here...👑🤫😉😂
