Hi all, hope it's ok to join this group.
Had my 12 week scan today and have my due date confirmed as 21st April. It feels so good to finally have a date and confirmation that everything is ok. Looking forward to telling our family and close friends our amazing news. This is our first baby. The bloating and tiredness seem to be easing off a bit now, just waiting for my appetite to return.

How is everyone? Have you noticed any changes in your symptoms? When is everyone due?

Singlemummyto5 · 13/10/2018 08:35

Morning @buttons28 welcome to the group. So glad your scan went well. I am 15+3 and due the 3rd, this is baby number 5 for me. I still feel really sick and tired all the time (I'm getting used to it now lol) the only new symptom seems to be a constant blocked nose haha x

Griffer · 13/10/2018 08:43

Wow, twins in the group!
I'd secretly hoped for twins because I don't want to have to go through this again, but just the one.

I'm also due 3rd April. I can't figure out if that's 2 or 3 of us due on the same day. My sister is due 31st March, 3 days before me! Both of our first babies. We live quite far apart though.

I bought my first baby clothes yesterday. We're not going to find out the sex, so I'm looking out for unisex stuff that's not white/cream! I found a yellow set of baby grows and a set of green ones with woodland animals (both in the boy's section! ). Why can't they do more clothes that are colours other than blue and pink? I find it really frustrating.

Singlemummyto5 · 13/10/2018 09:22

Hi @griffer, I could not agree more k have been looking for unisex items too but most of it is green, yellow or grey and the selection is so small!! It makes it almost impossible not find out the sex. One of my close friends is also due the 31st of March, I've been struggling to get me booking in appointment even though I found out so late, must be a busy time of year for babies lol x

ashley992 · 13/10/2018 09:38

@Singlemummyto5 @Griffer I agree with the unisex clothes. We found a few nice bits in Matalan but I was just fortunate the small amount of unisex stuff they had, I liked! Apparently supermarkets have nice selections but haven't looked in any of those yet.

BeeKeeping · 13/10/2018 09:50

@Griffer & @Singlemummyto5 that’s 3 of us! I’m due on the 3rd of April too 😀

@SPR that sounds awful, well done for coping so well and enjoy the bed rest! Lots of good TV at the moment 👍🏻

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 13/10/2018 10:02

Wait until the January sales for baby clothes, the small sizes are always reduced, gap has some lovely bits.

Has anyone signed up to do NCT?

Singlemummyto5 · 13/10/2018 10:03

Oohh this is exciting, I'm glad there are a few of us due the same day. I don't have many friends to share this with so will be nice to share the journey with others.
My mum works in asda so have been looking at their unisex stuff but it is a small selection, tesco you can only get in store and my nearest is 30 miles aways lol I'm hoping for my first scan soon so hopefully I can find out the sex a little early on x

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 13/10/2018 10:07

I’m due on the 20th/21st I think there are quite a few of us on those dates. But you 3rd people will already be snuggling babies by then Grin

Ohnonotanotherusername · 13/10/2018 10:51

@SheRaTheAllPowerful I've signed up to do NCT, my course starts at the end of January.

5tarlight · 13/10/2018 11:39

@SPR, sounds really scary, glad you are ok and getting some well deserved rest.
Not even dared look at baby clothes yet, but yes whenever I have looked at them for gifts am always struck by the clear boy / girl, why do boys need to wear clothes with diggers on them! Confused
Yes considering NCT, so many folks seem to meet a group there that they then meet up with on mat leave, plus being our first we don't know much really! Our hospital also does some good free ones so will probably just go there as well and gain all the info I can!
Btw 13wks today, nausea slightly better than say wk 8, but was still sick yesterday. Hopefully it will continue to ease...? (Please...?)

MigMog · 13/10/2018 12:01

@spr that is so scary. Great to hear your OK though. Rest sounds great. Take it easy!

Thanks for advice on hair. Currently sitting in foils. So I've gone for hair but no skin.

Totally agree with the clothing thing. I really hate going places like Asda where it's a pink and blue aisle, or boys and diggers and girls and princesses. This is something that really bothers me so I'm going to get quite picky!

monkerina · 13/10/2018 12:27

I'm due on the 3rd too! So 15+3 today, symptoms had eased off bar the fatigue, until I vommed this morning 😥

Kids clothing really really annoys me- I hate slogans and can't stand the fact that boys are only allowed to wear blue, sludge green or grey! DS loves cats and penguins but there isn't much for him at 2.5. He wears a lot of Frugi tops (often secondhand from Facebook groups as its expensive new) with supermarket jeans, but when he was little wore a lot from the 'girls' section that wasn't flowery/glittery/pink as there was a better selection. DH would have had kittens if he'd realised Wink

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 13/10/2018 12:56

@SPR117 I’m so sorry that I missed that, god what a shock and I’m glad everything is ok for now. I am a Netflix addict so shout if you need recommendations:)

Ro84 · 13/10/2018 15:11

@SPR1107 so sorry you had to go through that. take care of yourself these days. Weather is crap over here so you wont be missing much :-(

Annie264 · 13/10/2018 19:14

@monkerina I'm 15+1 and also thought symptoms had gone except fatigue, but have had a few sick episodes these last few days and also dry heaving a lot, which is hideous! Sometimes I just think it'd be better to properly be sick to at least just get it out!

fatbrows · 13/10/2018 19:31

Ouuu can I join in? I didn't know there was a group for April birthers. Due on the 3rd!

Griffer · 13/10/2018 19:48

Welcome Fatbrows. That makes 4 of us due on the 3rd!

mamabearoneandbump · 13/10/2018 20:45

Hi, another one here due on the 3rd April! Smile

SPR1107 · 13/10/2018 20:55

Thanks everyone. It's only day one and I'm bored already! I've managed to do some Christmas shopping, and ordered some random craft kit off amazon.... never been crafty but now is as good a time as any to give it a go!

39Suzy · 13/10/2018 21:22

@treaclepie19 how you doing?

39Suzy · 13/10/2018 21:23

@spr1107 so sorry you have been through a stressful few days but so pleased all.is well. Look after yourself x

Treaclepie19 · 13/10/2018 21:58

@39Suzy thanks for asking lovely. I'm struggling a fair bit but trying to take it a day at a time. Monday is our first step as we see the consultant.

Singlemummyto5 · 13/10/2018 22:00

Glad your managing to rest up and occupy your time @SPR1107 being a stay home I'm finding time is dragging so much already, especially when they are all at school and nursery.
I can't believe there are so many of us due the 3rd, it will be interesting to see if we all give birth on the same day haha x x

39Suzy · 13/10/2018 22:04

@treaclepie19 i know the waiting is the worst ☹ stay positive and here for you regardless of the outcome. PM me if you want to at any time if you need to chat. Keep talking to DP though, in this together x
