Just spotted @Newbie2703 posted her scan pic on the previous thread. It won’t let me respond so I’ll leave what I wrote here and hopefully she’ll find us.

Eeek! That’s a lovely scan @Newbie2703! Beautiful big bean, my scan looks like a dot compared to yours. How far along are you?

Treaclepie19 · 22/08/2018 10:41

donna474 don't stress about it. My last pregnancy I felt so sick I was managing cheerios and orange juice and waffles. That's about it.

ThriftyMcThrifty · 22/08/2018 10:50

Morning all - happily joining the new thread. I’m about five weeks so still incredibly early days. However this is my third child - I have a boy and a girl already - and so far this pregnancy seems very like my first with my son. Based on that I am guessing it’s another boy. I had no nausea with him, but vivid dreams and utterly exhausted (with my daughter I was just totally nauseous all the time). Anyone else have a suspicion as to what sex their baby might be?

SPR1107 · 22/08/2018 10:54

@ThriftyMcThrifty I'm thinking a second boy. I'm still a little early to tell if the symptoms are similar, but the second I found out I was pregnant with my first I said it was a boy instantly, so much so, I told my husband if it was a girl he could name it! I feel the same with this one. I always felt like I'd have a house full of boys... dog included!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 22/08/2018 11:03

Ooh I’m unsure on sex, I have twin girls already but I’d be happy either way. I have been having crazy dreams! Had to call the police last night as someone was murdered on the streets (in my dream) it all seems so real at the time!

wellthatwasunexpected · 22/08/2018 11:05

@ThriftyMcThrifty I think this one is a girl based on the fact that coffee is making me puke, just like it did with my daughter (but not with my son).

Also, unscientifically, my DH's family went boy, girl, boy (DH). His brother's kids are a girl then a boy, as are his sister's and our first two. It will annoy my love of patterns no end if this one is a boy 😂

Ohnonotanotherusername · 22/08/2018 11:14

Eurgh, I am having a really bad day at work. Hardly got any sleep last night as I was feeling so sick. Sick feeling is ongoing, completely manic at work and boss just tried to give me three new cases (have already had 5 new this week and four more new people booked in with me over the next few days) just burst into tears. So embarrassing.

SPR1107 · 22/08/2018 11:15

This baby will be grandchild number 14 on my side, and there's been absolutely no pattern at all. On DH side it will be grandchild number 3, and so far there's just a girl and a boy!

ThriftyMcThrifty · 22/08/2018 11:17

Ooh interesting. I’d quite like another boy, but my daughter is the only girl out of eight grandchildren so far, so I know everyone else will be hoping baby is a girl. Still early days though, if the nausea hits I’ll reconsider my prediction. Shera, vivid dreams was one of my big symptoms with my son.

donna474 · 22/08/2018 11:17

Thanks ladies, feel better now that I don't have to put the pressure on to make sure I'm eating EVERYTHING recommended, would total about 4000 calories with the amounts I've seen!
@SheRaTheAllPowerful I'm trying to get housework done in chunks too having only literally just gotten myself dressed! Finding putting on a podcast helps me not get distracted. I had a dream the other night I was trying to travel back from New York via train with my two SD's and MIL, woke very stressed to say the least!

ThriftyMcThrifty · 22/08/2018 11:17

Sheera even!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 22/08/2018 11:22

Interesting thrifty, on my side there are 2 girls and one boy as grandchildren but likely to be more on my husbands side there are 6 granddaughters so they will be very keen for a boy!

Treaclepie19 · 22/08/2018 11:26

Ugh today is not a good day. Woke up to horrible sharp pains in my tummy. Now I've got dizziness, breathlessness and a general horrible feeling.
My shoulder hurts too which I think is from walking into a doorframe 🙄
Son still isn't well so we're just going to try and muddle through together!

This baby will be my parents 5th grandchild (3 boys, 1 girl) and my husband's side there's just one boy (my son) and one girl.
I have no clue. I'm guessing another boy because that's what I know.

TheMagicTorch · 22/08/2018 11:29

So interesting reading patterns! My baby will be my parents' 7th grandchild and it goes:
My oldest sister: 2 girls
Next sister: 3 boys
Me: pregnant with first
Little Sister: 1 boy

(Yes we were a family of four sisters!) And none of my sisters have mixed bags - just all one sex! (So far!)

So hopefully we will follow the pattern and have a little girl 😍 My mum would be delighted as my two nieces live down the country so she's surrounded by grandsons! I of course would be so happy with either but a girl has always been my dream.

On DP's side, it's their first grandchild. Will be interesting to see what happens. There's hardly any girls on his side of the family, he just has the one sister, two brothers and a lot of male cousins!

Mejse · 22/08/2018 11:38

Just joining the new thread.
So I'm finally past the day that my period was due, it's slowly starting to sink in now. I still haven't had any symptoms yet other than having sore boobs oh and some strange vivid dreams. I'm thinking myself lucky that I don't have any nausea yet.

@donna474 I have never been a breakfast person either, I try to do over night oats most days now, I'm lazy in the mornings so it's good to have something I can just grab and eat.

I don't have any feelings about if this one is a boy or a girl. Dh has lots of boys in his family so I wouldn't be surprised if we have another boy, but in my family everyone has a boy first then a girl.

crazybaabaa · 22/08/2018 11:40

@SheRaTheAllPowerful I don't know how I feel lol , this will be my partners first baby , my oldest Ruby will turn 11 the month this baby is due then Dexter my youngest will be 10 in the August , still excited to hopefully be doing it again 🙂. I should get an early scan after my mmc I'm told so that hopefully will ease my anxiety about this pregnancy

SPR1107 · 22/08/2018 11:46

The nausea has just turned to actual sickness for me. DS is now walking round the house making a pretend gipping noise after hearing me... just the sound I want to be listening to when I feel sick

Fluffy475 · 22/08/2018 11:47

Have finally realised that I need to just eat small portions. We're down in Cornwall on holiday and I keep getting excited in places and eating loads and then feeling rough because of it. Was more sensible yesterday and feel so much better for it.

It's been quite nice being away and not having to watch everything we say and be in our own little pregnancy bubble.

@SheRaTheAllPowerful I think I saw you asking about age gaps? They'll be 14 years between this new one and my eldest. Third time round for me but first for my husband. My boys (13, 10) are so excited they can't wait. It's great as they understand what's going on and are really looking forward to roles as big brothers and they can be so much more involved. Much easier than when I had my second, there's only a 3 year age gap and eldest just didn't like it or get it at all!!! There's 9 years between my and my youngest brother and we were always very close, just sometimes some life phase cross overs but grand scheme of things it doesn't matter.

Alohomora07 · 22/08/2018 11:55

I wish I could guess the sex, this is my first and I have absolutely no clue 😂 I'm a proper planner too so can't wait to find out!

This will be the first grandchild on both sides of our family. I think my husband's family will be pleased and excited but I don't know how my parents are going to react. I have a difficult relationship with my mum, and I don't think she feels old enough to be a grandmother (even though she's 59!!)!

I'm starting to feel nervous about my pregnancy, despite no symptoms out of the ordinary. I think we're going to have an early scan but trying to decide when to book it for. I'm only 5+3 today, and I'm worried about having a scan soon only then to find out at the 12 week scan that things haven't progressed. Is that a silly worry?

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 22/08/2018 12:00

That makes me feel better, my girls are going to be thrilled (I think!)
I’m going to book a private scan I think so I can tell people, what week is best? Last time I did it at 10 weeks because my NHS one was at 13 weeks just wondering if I can do it earlier?

Mejse · 22/08/2018 12:02

We have an 8 year gap between Dss and Ds, they adore each other. Dss was super excited the whole pregnancy and is so caring and patient with Ds. He wanted to be involved in everything, even nappy changes and he is so proud every time Ds learns something new.

Dss has a sister on his mums side too who is closer in age but they don't get along very well at the moment. When family have asked when we are having another baby Dss says "we need to wait until Ds is 2 and see if he is as bad as my sister, if he is I don't want anymore siblings"

crazybaabaa · 22/08/2018 12:07

I think mine will be excited , they have been asking for a sibling for a while now . There is just over 16 months between them and they are super close with each other .

Did a digital this morning just to be sure lol 😂😂 I can't believe it tbh still doesn't feel real

crazybaabaa · 22/08/2018 12:08

Oh I meant to say I think after 7wks is best as more chance of seeing something

crazybaabaa · 22/08/2018 12:13

@organised5 my email addy is [email protected] , sorry I don't know how to pm but I'll remove it from here once I've joined group lol

donna474 · 22/08/2018 12:32

SD's will be 6 and 4 when baby is born, SD6 will be fine I think but SD4 May be a bit more demanding (she has spina bifida so needs more physical support), planning on telling them after 12 week scan and involving them as much as possible in the whole process. My folks have one grandson but my brother lives in NYC so we don't see them often, SO's folks have 5 grandkids all under 5 (four girls and one boy, boy is a twin). We're all really close so everyone is excited
