Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

@LotsaTuddles I’m sorry to hear about your losses but we can be in this madness together 💁‍♀️we could be the same person with the same mother! 😬 honestly don’t know where folk get off thinking they can judge your life choices. We have a big house and good jobs and have bought a bigger car - why shouldn’t we have more children if we have love to give 🤷‍♀️ My mum worries too but says SHE can’t afford another grandchild cause she spends so bloody much already.

I’m really grateful for all your ladies support and it’s made me feel better xx

fnej01 · 26/08/2018 10:03

@mimisunshine - hey it's nice to talk to others in same position. Fx for the next 35 weeks :-)
Have been getting quite a lot of nausea (no sickness), but it is coming and going, other main symptom is needing the loo every 5 mins. No sore boobs yet, which is concerning me a little, but trying to remember everyones symptoms are different.

8DaysAWeek · 26/08/2018 10:30

@fnej01 I don't have sore boobs either! Was my very first symptom with DS but not even a tingle this time round yet 😅

MimiSunshine · 26/08/2018 10:47

You know you shouldn’t compare but it’s so hard not too isn’t it?!

I keep reminding myself that in reality I’m only really about 2wks pregnant.
I had a strong inkling I would be this cycle and so tested on the 12th which was far too early.

Then I felt awful the following two days, from what I looked up that was the right timeframe for implantation and got a +ve rest on the 17th so it’s only now been 2 weeks actually pregnant so still early days.
So nerve wracking though.

LotsaTuddles · 26/08/2018 11:43

@UntilTheVeryEnd, sorry about your losses too.

We’ve just downsized our car from a 7 seater to a 5 seater 🙈 but, that can always be sorted out later.

My boobs are sore, but I think that’s mostly stopping breastfeeding 🙈 we were originally going to be doing it now anyway, but I really don’t think I could with feeding with hg (I’m not going to kid myself, I’ve had it every single time, the likelihood of not getting it this time isn’t very high

UntilTheVeryEnd · 26/08/2018 12:06

@LotsaTuddles that was a bit silly 😂 what 7 seater did you have out of interest? And which will you go for this time around? I’m a nosey beggar but we’ve just bought a Skoda kodiaq (7 seater) and waiting for it to be delivered. Not sure I’ve made the right decision going for a SUV rather than an MPV x

LotsaTuddles · 26/08/2018 12:59

@UntilTheVeryEnd we had a seat Alhambra, which I loved soooo much. And we’ve now got a Mazda Premacy which was perfect, 3 full sized seats in the back (which is beyond rare), except now we need 4 car seats, because they’re all short even the nearly 5 year old is still in a 5 point harnessed car seat

Buttons28 · 26/08/2018 13:30

Hello and congratulations to everyone!

Please can I join?
Got my BFP yesterday morning showing 3+ weeks. Think this is putting my due date somewhere near the end of April but I'm not sure. Did a test two weeks before this and had a negative so think I've got a rough idea.

The only symptoms I have had so far are bloating and tiredness but I didn't actually think anything of it, just put it down to everyday life! To get a positive result was a complete shock as I had only just come off the pill. I was completely expecting my cycles to take some time to settle down and was getting annoyed that AF wasn't making an appearance!

As this is my first I'm a bit nervous and not really sure what to do or how things work. It's nice to find other people who are on the same journey x

CrystalBlaze · 26/08/2018 14:08

Welcome @Buttons! Smile

I'm in the same boat as you, got pregnant within a month or so of stopping the pill. We are lucky. I'm 5+2 and think my due date is April 26.

I'm also bloated, tired and have really sore boobs but that's all.

Is this your first?

Buttons28 · 26/08/2018 14:54

@CrystalBlaze we are extremely lucky I think, just hope they stick. I really thought this was going to take months so I really can't believe it.

Yes this is my first, is this your first?

I guess the first step is to go and see the GP on Tuesday to get the process going

I very nearly didn't POAS yesterday as I really didn't think it would be happening, so glad I did now Smile

CrystalBlaze · 26/08/2018 14:58

Yes my first too! I've got my first midwife appointment in just under a month. I self referred for antenatal carr so not actually seen the GP yet.

CrystalBlaze · 26/08/2018 14:59

Care* not carr!

Buttons28 · 26/08/2018 15:11

How do you register with the midwife? I honestly have no idea what I'm doing haha 🙈

CrystalBlaze · 26/08/2018 15:21

Whereabouts in the country are you? I think it depends on the NHS trust but the hospital website should be able to tell you. If not then I think your GP refers you.

MimiSunshine · 26/08/2018 15:24

@UntilTheVeryEnd do you think your friend / SIL is worried you’re going to ‘steal her thunder’ and when you announce this pregnancy?

I think you’re about 6ish weeks along so maybe she’s thinking that you’ll be announcing just as she’s giving birth and no one will care.

Not that I think that’s likely or justified her being pretty quiet about it all. I also don’t think you should tiptoe around it either.

@Buttons28 it’s somethings different in different areas of the country but in my area you don’t see a GP first, you just called your local surgery and ask to make a booking in appointment with the midwife.

The receptionist will ask how far along you are (date from the first day of your last period / or the date you last took a contraceptive pill) and aim to get you in with the midwife when you’re c8wks.

In my first pregnancy I found this appointment a bit of an anticlimax if I’m honest. It’s a long appointment but essentially a long q&a exercise.

You’ll need to either take a tribe sample or go with a full bladder so you can provide one and then wait to get your scan date through for c12wks via letter.

MimiSunshine · 26/08/2018 15:25

Tribe sample? 😂 urine sample

UntilTheVeryEnd · 26/08/2018 15:52

@MimiSunshine I think I’m between 5-6 weeks... I don’t know exactly because I never had a period when I came of my coil. I just got pregnant straight away. I think roughly I would be around 12 weeks ish when she is due to give birth. I think me “stealing her thunder” is exactly her problem. She has waited so long for this wonderful time for me to trump in and share the limelight. Although I messaged her today to say that I appreciate she will probs be upset with me but I respect her feelings - therefore I will aim (as far as I can) to conceal this pregnancy from everyone until after she has given birth, for a couple weeks. She said thank you - she would like me to do that. It will mean I’m going to be 14 + weeks but hey ho anything to keep the peace.

Welcome to all the new ladies! So exciting to see the thread filling up with BFP Smile xx

SurfingOwl · 26/08/2018 16:15

I’m really sorry to hear she wasn’t pleased @UntilTheVeryEnd.

SurfingOwl · 26/08/2018 16:17

Welcome to all the new people and I hope everything goes well for all of us.

I’ve bought two new ClearBlue tests to see when I go up to 3+ which will hopefully be in the next few days. I spend so much money on tests!

Does anyone fancy a Facebook group? I find it easier to keep track there.

MimiSunshine · 26/08/2018 16:34

@UntilTheVeryEnd that’s very generous of you. Hopefully she won’t go too far over due and once her baby is here she’ll come round and be pleased for you too. After all, fingers crossed you’ll have babies only about 6mths apart who will be cousins and friends for life

LotsaTuddles · 26/08/2018 16:46

Here, you go into drs and fill a form in, they give you your notes folder and mw rings you in a few weeks for appt around 8 weeks. Then, you roughly have appts every 4 weeks (unless you’re high risk, like me, then you end up having appointments pretty much every 2 weeks with consultant appts, mw appts and scans 🙄)

MrsReader · 26/08/2018 17:12

Hi ladies, just got my positive today- I think I'm only 3+4 so very early days. Due date 8 May 💖

8DaysAWeek · 26/08/2018 18:36

I'd be up for that @surfingowl. Just trying to imagine what itll be like in the next few weeks as everyone gets all their BFPs and are due in May! Will be a struggle for sure to keep up

tinyradish · 26/08/2018 19:20

That's very nice of you @untiltheveryend but I must admit she is being quite selfish!

I'd love a Facebook group :)

Congratulations to all new joiners

SurfingOwl · 26/08/2018 19:42

Congratulations @MrsReader

Great @8DaysAWeek and @tinyradish if you DM me with the email address you use to log in to Facebook, I’ll get it set up. Same goes for anybody else who would like to join.
