Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

@dimblebimble thanks and good luck to you too. Fingers crossed we both get to see that 3+

@mynameisjune I was the same, stuck on 1-2 when I should have been 2-3 and then 3+. Great news you got your 3+ already and you are making the call to book in. good luck with the new job.
unrelated but is your name a nod to the hand maids tale? what an absolutely amazing show, so so dark but really well done x

MynameisJune · 17/09/2018 11:14

@dreaminofholidays it is, I loved the book when I read it years ago. And the TV show has been the only thing I’ve ever watched that’s been better than the book. Usually shows and films are not as good in my opinion. But this is outstanding. I also named my daughter after a suffragette so there may be a feminist theme running along there somewhere....🙈

rant incoming

Woke up this morning, so tired but DH helped me to get ready for work. He needed to leave before I did. I start work at 9am and work 10 mins away, so got in my car at 8:40 to give myself plenty of time.

Bloody car wouldn't start!

I went back inside to look up the number for a taxi company, only to find the cat had peed all over the tiles in the hall! Have had her for 9 years and she's never done that before. So was cleaning that up, which made me feel kinda sick, but managed to get that done. Couldn't get a taxi, so decided to have a bit of toast and then walk to work. It usually takes me about 30 mins to walk to work, today it managed to take over an hour due to having to stop every couple of hundred meters to remind myself not to throw up. I was just about shuffling along by the end of the walk.

Then, I arrived in work (an hour late) to find I'm spotting Sad am 7+1, not sure whether to keep an eye on it or phone someone.

Hopefully I'll look back on this as a funny story some day!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 17/09/2018 11:50

@firstbornunicorn what a shitty morning! Re the spotting is it red or brown? Is there lots? If it were me I would be inclined to phone for advice and see if they will scan you for reassurance... it’s likely all fine, but doesn’t hurt to be seen. Let us know how you get on - sending hugs xx

inkworks273 · 17/09/2018 12:03

Receptionist at the docs called about the urine sample I handed in on Friday. He wants me to repeat in 2 weeks as blood showed up in it. Not sure what that could mean. Should I call and try to speak to the doctor?

frankiefumbles · 17/09/2018 12:09

@Firstbornunicorn time for a new doctor. That's outrageous. Every pregnancy is different and some people simply can't work through it

@minnierose3 pink is fine, they get worried when you get lots of red blood combined with cramps. If you want to do something to feel like you're taking some action, pop a pad in. This allows you to track what's coming out in a slightly more scientific fashion. A tiny drop of blood can look like tonnes if it drips in water! You are probably fine, but give Dr a call and they can reassure you :) hugs

Sorry for everyone else with worries. I'm hoping to see the 3+ as never had one before!

frankiefumbles · 17/09/2018 12:11

@Firstbornunicorn as I said some spotting is normal but if you phone you can feel you are doing something.

DietCoke1 · 17/09/2018 12:38

@firstbornunicorn- sounds like the worst morning! I would ring EPU as they can scan but is probably nothing to worry about.

@inkworks273 blood in the urine can be a sign of of a UTI so could be that.

Haven’t had any more bad cramps today so hoping that’s the end of it... have a scan booked end of next week but will only be 6+5 Confused so maybe too soon.

Hi Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining, found out on thursday that we are pregnant with out first! So exciting, we have been trying for 13 months after coming off of depo so super happy its finally happening, my estimted due date is the 23rd May :D

inkworks273 · 17/09/2018 13:09

Welcome @iforgotwhatiwasgoingtosay and congratulations Smile

We are due date twins!

inkworks273 · 17/09/2018 13:11

@DietCoke1 I did think I could have a uti but if that was the case wouldn't the doc have prescribed me antibiotics? Seems strange that he only wants me to hand in another sample in two weeks.

DietCoke1 · 17/09/2018 13:18

@inkworks273 hmm that is true. Unless a UTI is brewing and by then there might be some bacterial growth or it may have resolved? I’m not sure- does seem strange to wait.

iforgotwhatiwasgoingtosay · 17/09/2018 13:28

@inkworks273 yay due date twins, thats exciting! Congratulations to you all, can't wait for my first scan and MW appointment!
Currently only around 4-5 weeks but pretty much symptomless except my raging temper but hoping that will subside, praying I escape morning sickness too (now I've typed this I bet it starts tomorrow- just my luck lol)

Popsalot15 · 17/09/2018 13:30

5+5 today and the sickness has kicked in. Ended up spewing in work loos before my morning coffee. I wanted to feel signs before but after this morning I’d like to go without if possible!

kiltedsheep · 17/09/2018 13:36

Hello new people! 👋

Finally got the dates of my booking appt and my first scan. I'll be 12 weeks by the time the latter rolls around. Feels like ages but given current finances (and my fairly hopeful state of mind, which is unusual for me) I think I'll be ok with waiting rather than going private.

Has anyone else had to get a new bra? I've dug out an old bra from last time around; I think it was mid-pregnancy rather than the last trimester. The cups aren't quite filled but it's a lot better than squeezing myself into my normal bra, which was starting to hurt (and looked ridiculous).

I probably should shell out for one that really fits, though. Even if it only ends up fitting for a few weeks. 🙄

BoomKapow · 17/09/2018 13:38

I’ve caved and just booked a private scan for tomorrow when I should be 8 weeks. Still no midwife appointment and my miscarriage was at 8 weeks so I’ve been feeling increasingly anxious the last few days. I just hope it’s good news and I actually feel less stressed after.

kiltedsheep · 17/09/2018 13:39

@Firstbornunicorn God love you, you've had a bit of a crap time recently. Fingers crossed that everything's ok. ❤️

MynameisJune · 17/09/2018 13:42

@kiltedsheep I’m wearing non underwired Victoria secret bras at the minute that I love anyway. Could never get on with underwire after DD was born. Everyone on my old baby group swore by Bravado bras. Think I’m going to treat myself to one or two this time around. I had H&M last time and they were okay.

kiltedsheep · 17/09/2018 13:43

@BoomKapow hope it all goes well!!! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow too - but I had to ring up my hospital's antenatal dept to check why I hadn't got any appointments. Maybe worth giving that a try too? It turned out the hospital had never received my GP's referral, so I wasn't on their system. I was pretty relieved when all the documentation finally arrived in the post his morning.

Firstbornunicorn · 17/09/2018 13:50

@untiltheveryend it was light brown and just a little so far. Did have a tiny amount a few days ago too!

@frankiefumbles not sure if changing doctors is a good idea at this point but I'll look into it. Decided against phoning EPU unless things get worse as there's not much they can do anyway (they won't do a scan here).

@kiltedsheep, thanks! I'm just a bit of a whinger really, and was totally unprepared to feel so rough to boot. My mum likes to tell stories of how she breezed through pregnancy with nary a symptom, so I was hoping for that kind of experience!!

Welcome to all newbies!! Fingers crossed for you all :)

MynameisJune · 17/09/2018 13:55

Booking in appointment all sorted, 3 weeks time. Still contemplating an early scan but have lots going on between now and 12 weeks so might hold out as I want a 16 week gender scan as well.

Dimblebimble · 17/09/2018 14:11

Falling asleep at my desk! 😴

How are you ladies staying awake/alert? So much to do but can't concentrate at all.

I have my own office, genuinely tempted to just have a nap 😂

rosettesforjill · 17/09/2018 14:18

@Dimblebimble I am bloomin exhausted! And boiling 😓 and everyone else in the office keeps asking for the air con to be a higher temperature so I'm just sitting here sweating

We're nearly on 1000 posts - time for thread 2?!

Pebblespony · 17/09/2018 14:21

Think I might go to my GP tomorrow and get things started. I'm 5+1. Went last week with tonsilitis and he said he wouldn't do the antenatal appointment in case it didn't come to anything as I had brown spotting. Not very confidence inspiring! He told me to wait two weeks actually but I'm still a bit ill and want to get it sorted.
