Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

Newbie to the group...found out this afternoon we're expecting our second in early May, after having our boy almost 6 months ago. It took us two years to conceive our son so we started trying straight away in case it took a similar length of time, and two months later here we are! GrinVery excited and just a tad nervous.

Mejse · 26/08/2018 19:48

@UntilTheVeryEnd I'm sorry your friend reacted like that. I have never got the whole stealing thunder thing. My sister fell pregnant with her 2nd 6weeks after I fell pregnant with my first, she started as soon as she found out. My other sister asked if I was upset but I was just really happy and excited that our kids are going to grow up together.

I would be up to join a Facebook group too, I'm not great at keeping up with threads.

We toldy parents and my stepson this weekend. I was really worried how he would react but he threw his arms round me and said hello to my belly. He says he wants another brother, there are so many boys in dh's family I wouldn't be surprised if it's another boy

minnierose3 · 26/08/2018 19:56

Hi can I join the club? Surprise BFP for me and feeling so anxious and overwhelmed right now....

minnierose3 · 26/08/2018 20:15

@privatebaldrick, there's a similar sort of age between my first 2 and it was so crazy at first but so worth it! They are super close and are more like twins wouldn't change it for the world xx

privatebaldrick · 26/08/2018 20:27

@minnierose3 I am fully expecting absolute carnage at first! Grin We got quite lucky with our son's sleep habits though, in that he is a very laid back baby and sleeps well, so hopefully that'll work to our advantage when we have two x

minnierose3 · 26/08/2018 20:35

DC1 was an amazing sleeper and sort of fooled us into having DC2 so quickly as we thought it was easy and then along came DC2..... 😱 you probably don't want to hear that!!!

privatebaldrick · 26/08/2018 20:53

@minnierose3 oh god no absolutely not 😂😂 I'll cross that bridge when we come to it x

blh23 · 26/08/2018 21:14

@SurfingOwl I'd love to be part of a Facebook group! xo

MrsReader · 26/08/2018 21:16

I'd join a FB group too but only if it is private!

SurfingOwl · 26/08/2018 21:21

For anyone who wants to join the Facebook group, just send me a message with your email address (that you use to log into Facebook) and I’ll send you the link. It’s a secret group, don’t worry.

MJ1383 · 26/08/2018 21:24

Hey, I’ve been soooo panicky (see my thread ‘Feelings of Dread’ in Pregnancy) but I think it is passing now. From what everyone has said it’s pretty normal!

rosegold33 · 26/08/2018 21:26

Congrats everyone.

I tested postive 12dpo.its now 15dpo, line still faint but will test in another couple of days.

No symptons apart from.tiredness.

When do you all plan to phone midwife for.booking appointment and scan date. Im scotland its a mumber you phone and they give you date for both. Im.just thinking ita still.so early so.unsure if i should hold off a couple.of weeks.

MJ1383 · 26/08/2018 21:27

Sorry that was to @LulaRose !

NatureGal · 26/08/2018 22:11

Hello and congratulations to everyone. A surprising and unexpected pregnancy for me and will be dc4 all going well will have 4 under 5. Wiil be due late April, early May. Have never gone past 38 weeks. Not sorted booking appt yet as still getting used to the idea and rearranging next year's plans 😂. Would love to join fb group too. Hope everyone is feeling ok.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 27/08/2018 09:34

@rosegold33 hiya 👋 I’m in Scotland too - I phoned and can’t see my midwife til approx 10.5 weeks. I would just phone and get it booked it as soon as you can just in case they are busy. I can’t believe I’m having to wait so long, never been so long before. My previous booking visit happened at around 7 weeks xx

kiltedsheep · 27/08/2018 09:40

Got an appt to see the GP tomorrow, as here the GP has to refer you to the midwife. I'm really hoping that, due to my last MMC, they might give me an earlier scan than normal...but that's probably just wishful thinking. I expect others need an early scan more than I do.

I'm quite calm about this pregnancy, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like an early scan!

rosegold33 · 27/08/2018 10:41

@untiltheveryend thanks for that, youre right they are busy. I phoned and booking appointment not happening until 10weeks and scan 13weeks.

Seems ages away but i bet it wont be. Im calculating due date around 4th may. Whens yours?

rosegold33 · 27/08/2018 10:42

@kiltedsheep Im sure you could push for earlier scan. For me 12 weeks seems ages away

sakuramiyagi · 27/08/2018 12:06

I was very impressed when I called the Midwife booking line (Scotland). I got my booking appointment and 12 week scan dates on the phone and the next day I received paper confirmations and an info guide.

To be honest I was shocked it wasn't more of a rigmarole!

SurfingOwl · 27/08/2018 13:34

I’m going to ring my midwife and also the EPU to book in a scan tomorrow.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 27/08/2018 18:24

@SurfingOwl can you just phone the EPU and request an early scan? I didn’t realise you could do that? X

kiltedsheep · 27/08/2018 18:27

@rosegold33 yeah, no harm in trying, I guess. I'll mention it to the GP tomorrow and hopefully I might get an earlier scan! 12 weeks does seem an age away when you're only 5 weeks in...

seeingdots · 27/08/2018 19:14

This central booking line sounds quite efficient. I'm in Scotland too but doesn't seem to have made it to us yet! Can't complain though as I had a nice chat with my midwife over the phone. It must be nice to have a scan date booked already though.

SurfingOwl · 27/08/2018 19:20

@UntilTheVeryEnd I’m assuming so as I was told to make contact as soon as I got pregnant and that I could have early scans. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow morning but can’t see it being a problem.

How is everyone doing? I have a ClearBlue test that I need to use to determine when I am 3+ but I’m worried about doing it too soon because then I’ll have to spend another fortune on make tests!

kiltedsheep · 27/08/2018 19:29

@SurfingOwl these CB tests are bloody pricey, aren't they?! I reckon I'll be 3+ tomorrow, so DH has persuaded me to try (one final) CB test to double-check that things are progressing as they should...
