Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

So sorry @BuntyII Flowers

frankiefumbles · 14/09/2018 07:52

@BuntyII so sorry to hear it. Must be crushing. The only consolation, and I appreciate it isn't s great one and you might want to slap me, is you can conceive...and seemingly quite quickly. If you're anything like me, I still haven't really emotionally got over the last one so this would seem like a bit of an empty consolation. Sending massive hugs. You'll get through this x

Amolly · 14/09/2018 08:00

So very sorry @BuntyII Flowers x

UntilTheVeryEnd · 14/09/2018 08:09

So sorry to hear your news @Bunytll - be kind to yourself and take time to heal Flowers

Dimblebimble · 14/09/2018 09:18

So sorry @BuntyII, hope you're doing okay Thanks

I took another ic this morning and the line looks a bit lighter than yesterday. I really overexerted myself yesterday trying to sort out our garden. No bleeding or anything yet but definitely don't feel as positive as yesterday. Only time will tell I guess. 😔

dreaminofholidays · 14/09/2018 10:15

@buntyII I'm so sorry. sending hugs xxx

SurfingOwl · 14/09/2018 10:37

So sorry BuntyII and take good care of yourself.

Easier said than done, I know Dimblebimble, but you need to step away from the tests.

I hope everyone else is doing ok today.

MauisLeftNipple · 14/09/2018 10:49

Sorry for your loss Buntyll

I can't remember who asked me about reusable nappies. I have used them continuously for 5.5 years. We started when my eldest was 3 weeks old. I started off trying lots of different brands I'd mainly bought off eBay, then settled on a couple of main brands. I would recommend seeing if you have a nappy library in your area so you can check out the different types in the flesh. They are easy to use. I wash every second day and wash clothes etc in between. I seem to do less washing than most people I know!

MauisLeftNipple · 14/09/2018 10:54

We also use cloth wipes. My junior joy cheapies are still going strong after 5.5 years. They are more effective at cleaning up poo than cotton wool or baby wipes. I use a different type of reusable wipe for hands and faces at mealtimes.

Reusable wipes and nappies don't have to be all or nothing. We are flexible on holidays and trips out. Sometimes if there has been a build up of other laundry for some reason we have a day off cloth. I'm pretty proud of the fact that I haven't bought a packet of wet wipes all year!

inkworks273 · 14/09/2018 11:05

How's everyone's diet?

I'm conscious that I should be eating better but I'm not doing a great job.

I'm having brown toast and a glass of orange juice for breakfast but then having a sandwich for lunch and things like fish fingers and chips for dinner.

I'm taking pregnacare but really want to get more nutrition from my diet. Not really sure what to have though.

rosettesforjill · 14/09/2018 11:17

@inkworks273 yesterday I had poached egg on toast for breakfast, pastrami and cheese sandwich with coleslaw for lunch and stir fry with tuna steak for tea. Yogurt, fruit, a chocolate and a Soreen mini loaf for snacks. Just eating what I normally would really minus the banned food! Not feeling nauseous or craving anything at the moment so I will admit that makes things easier Smile

MynameisJune · 14/09/2018 11:18

I’m doing slimming world, started before finding out. Haven’t been great this week but have been emotional eating with the worry/shock.

Not aiming to lose weight although it would be a bonus but aiming to control the weight gain this time. Appetite isn’t great at the minute but drinking lots of water, eating fruit and cooking from scratch. I’ve batched cooked a stew which I take for lunches along with jacket potato, beans and salad, or homemade veg soup.

tinyradish · 14/09/2018 11:23

Really sorry to hear your news buntyll :) please take care.

Re diet: I usually eat very healthily (not without treats - I just mean meals are nutritious with lots of lentils, veg, greens etc in the diet) however due to the sickness & extreme aversions I'm just having to eat what can be stomached. Which is cereal, bread, beans, potato, crisps, bit of pasta... No veg at all. Literally can't eat veg. Really sad about it.

MauisLeftNipple · 14/09/2018 12:32

When my sickness was bad in my previous pregnancy, I literally survived on a warmed croissant, custard cream biscuits and strawberry milk, with the occasional mango. For weeks on end. As the sickness abated I was able to add in ritz crackers and smoked cheese. I couldn't take pregnancy vitamins apart from folic acid. Baby was 3.8kg at birth!

SurfingOwl · 14/09/2018 13:19

I’m pretty sure this baby is going to be born looking like a chocolate milkshake at this rate. I don’t have cravings but I also don’t have much of an appetite.

dreaminofholidays · 14/09/2018 13:26

I'm away for a long weekend in Spain at the moment. Surprised how difficult it is to find menus with lots of options. First meal here I didn't even think and we had tapas. Afterwards I realised chorizo is no, aoili is a no etc. Hoping that one slip won't have done any damage.

Being in the sun and not drinking is also very different for me! xx

MauisLeftNipple · 14/09/2018 13:32

dreaminofholidays what's wrong with chorizo?

rosettesforjill · 14/09/2018 13:32

Chorizo is ok isn't it?!

rosettesforjill · 14/09/2018 13:44

Oh I've just checked NHS and apparently not necessarily! Rubbish. Most of the cooked stuff should be ok though!

mayago · 14/09/2018 13:57

I'm so sorry Buntyll Flowers

Starmist · 14/09/2018 14:15

@buntyll so sorry to hear your news, please look after yourself Flowers

I had chorizo the other night, it was so tasty. I didn’t have a lot & it was cooked so I figured it was ok. When I saw the doctor she started saying how the food advice is a load of rubbish. I mentioned chorizo & she said that guidance dates back to when pigs had tape worm but they haven’t had that for years so don’t worry about it.

My diet is pretty rubbish now the sickness has started. Frazzles are wonderful, they’re helping me feel better Grin last pregnancy I had cravings for spaghetti hoops when I was sick & they helped

dreaminofholidays · 14/09/2018 14:22

@starmist thanks that's reassuring.
It's difficult to know what to take with a pinch of salt and what to follow to the letter.

Cooked chorizo is fine from what I've read, its just the cured meats.

xxx

Amolly · 14/09/2018 14:35

I haven't had much in the way of cravings, but last night I bought a pack of biscuits with chocolate cream which I honestly could not wait to have. I opened them and the smell knocked me for six. Figured maybe it's just the smell so I tried eating one and oh my word it was awful. Asked my OH to try and he said they were fine -.-' sad times aha

TBay · 14/09/2018 14:58

Hi All, just posted in the other May group, not realising this was the main one! Can I join? I’m 29 and this will be #1. Got my BFP (after about 15 faint lines) on Monday. I think i’m Due mid-may but no booking appointments yet, still waiting! Mu emotions have been all over the place this week but no morning sickness yet! Anyone else having symptoms they weren’t expecting? x

rosettesforjill · 14/09/2018 15:03

Congratulations @TBay! Nothing unexpected here, but I haven't had that many symptoms at all really - hopefully you'll skip on the sickness like I have so far!
