Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

Is anyone else having symptoms that come and go a lot?! Yesterday, I felt really energetic and got lots of jobs done at home, then by about 3pm I felt sick, dizzy and just generally awful! This morning I felt ok, until about 11am, I had done a workout at home and felt dizzy doing it, then after collecting my son from pre-school I felt hot, really nauseous, dizzy and just generally unwell. I came, went for a wee and when I wiped there was the tiniest bit of very light pink discharge! I panicked and phoned the EPU, spoke to a very nice nurse who reassured me that it sounds completely normal and that she thinks I just need to rest- I think I've been overdoing it because I try to do workouts, then I do 2 school runs twice a day, I've been manically cleaning&tidying, plus I cycle on the school runs sometimes and the bumping up and down kerbs isn't always comfortable on the nether regions! I make it sound like I'm a really active, slim woman, but I'm actually "obese" according to my BMI, but I just like to stay active and I'm eating so much at the moment and am a paranoid about getting even fatter whilst pregnant again!! Anyway, just wondered if anyone else feels the same? Do you feel unwell on/off and feel like you're over doing it?!x

MynameisJune · 14/09/2018 15:42

My symptoms are coming and going. Today I’m bone tired and nauseous on and off. Yesterday didn’t feel too bad. I’m trying not to do too much right now to be honest because when I MC last year I’d had a manic cleaning session over the weekend and then got really bad backache and started bleeding on the Tuesday.

MynameisJune · 14/09/2018 15:44

But with that pregnancy I got no symptoms this early at all.

MimiSunshine · 14/09/2018 15:46

Before the placenta has fully formed a svtbe umbilical cord is able to completely do its job, the baby takes its nutrition directly from your blood supply.

I was told that symptoms often go in waves over 3 day cycles as you get a surge of hormones that eases off / your body copes better with them gradually over 3 days. So you start feeling ok again / worries about symptoms dropping off only for the next day to be the main hit again.

Your body is working extremely hard these first few months so just eat whatever gets you through it (within reason). You have another 6 months to eat well once you’re feeling ok.
I was obsessed with chocolate milk the first time bit so far not so bothered

UntilTheVeryEnd · 14/09/2018 16:10

My diet is basically just bread right now, bread and milk or cheese. I’m not too worried as baby takes all it’s nutrients from the yolk sack anyway at this stage.
I am conscious about weight gain but quite genuinely if it isn’t carbs - I vomit. If I drink too much liquid - I vomit. So I’m eating what will go down and plan to re joint slimming world afterwards. It’s worked for me before so confident it will again.

I’m hating the heartburn and I’m hating the fatigue. I’m hating the weird dreams and I’m hating the bloat. None of my knickers fit Sad

Happy baby growing everyone x

Cautiously joining in. I have an 8 yr old son had fertility treatment to get him, had 5 years more for a sibling. Gave up. Totally. And here I find myself 7+4 unassisted pregnancy.
I'm beyond scared.

Firstbornunicorn · 14/09/2018 16:37

@untiltheveryend it's not much fun, is it? Trying not to make any sudden movements in case of projectile vomiting!

SurfingOwl · 14/09/2018 16:49

Congratulations @Niftyknitter and what a wonderful surprise. I hope everything goes well.

TBay · 14/09/2018 17:27

Yes! Totally all over the place with my symptoms too, sick one day and not the next, waves of different emotions! The only constant is sore boobs literally ALL OF THE TIME 😂😂 sorry TMI xx

seeingdots · 14/09/2018 17:28

Oh @BuntyII, so sorry for your loss. Look after yourself Thanks

TBay · 14/09/2018 17:29

‘@SurfingOwl’ ‘@rosettesforjill’ thank you, can’t believe it! May doesn’t seem far at all 🙈 bet it’ll drag later on though x

TBay · 14/09/2018 17:31

Messed that up! Can you tell I’m new!! @‘SurfingOwl’ @‘rosettesforjill’ x

mayago · 14/09/2018 18:29

My symptoms this time are slightly different to last - am wondering if it means this will be a boy, or if every pregnancy is just different Grin

BuntyII · 14/09/2018 18:44

Thanks for all your kind words, I have started bleeding now so that's definitely the end. Onto a new cycle!

Best of luck to you all. This is a lovely group. Give all your squishy babies an extra hug from me Smile

seeingdots · 14/09/2018 18:48

Congratulations @TBay and @Niftyknitter!!

Guys, I've just dug out my old maternity leggings - I am SO COMFORTABLE right now. I never want to wear clothes with a waistband ever again! Grin

seeingdots · 14/09/2018 19:33

Sorry x-post @BuntyII. Wishing you all the best for the future xx

For the sake of amusement ladies, date me!!!

I did an ovulation test Aug 27 and it came back negative. It's the clearblue one. I got a circle. So if you were even slightly fertile you'd be getting the flashing face and then the solid face. Luteal phase usually bang on 14 days but clearly not this time, so going on LMP will be slightly off.

I was due to ovulate on the 28 but the negative test means this is impossible. I was so peeved I only did one test.

We DTD 26, 27 and 30th. If I could point the finger I'd said the best one was 26th and therefore it had to be that one 😂 but if it was the 26th I would presumably have had a different result on the ovulation test on 28th unless 26 was my last fertile day. So it must have been on the 30th and I must have become fertile shortly after the negative test.

I appreciate natural variation and all, but it's getting a bit old getting a scan and being told "too small" so I'm thinking err on the side of caution and assume it must have been the 30th? Riiiight...?

I'm not so worried on due date because as baby of a Dr it'll be late for its own birth. It's just that first dating scan. I want to be as close to right as possible.

frankiefumbles · 14/09/2018 22:55

@thatshabbychick from my last time, yes can totally sympathise. I was due to go for a weeks cycling holiday. I went from riding 60/70/80 miles fairly comfortably to not being able to do much more than 5 miles and only on the flat. I was so irate about it, but the only way to deal with it is relax into it. My fitness took a massive dip almost overnight and I put it down to my body trying to protect itself.

Personally I think that if you are getting tired it's because your body is trying to protect your poppyseed. Personally I wouldn't worry about weight right now, you've got tonnes of time to fix that after baby is born, if you feel strongly about it. A few months of poor diet isn't going to be too much of an issue, and if you're hungry then it's hardly like you can just decide not to eat. Staying active is great but if you're feeling dizzy then ease back. After all, you're growing a baby! That's a full time job in itself! A whole range of pink discharge and even light bleeding is normal so try not to worry too much.

inkworks273 · 15/09/2018 04:18

Just back from out of hours. Had some more severe cramping. No sign of blood but she said I may be having a miscarriage. She did a pregnancy test and said the line was faint Sad

She said ectopic pregnancy could also be a possibility so I've to call the early pregnancy unit at the hospital at 8am.

That's the 3rd time I've had the severe cramping in the last 4 days. It only lasts for about 20 minutes before it eases again.

I'm really just waiting to start bleeding now.

thatshabbychick · 15/09/2018 06:14

Sorry to hear that @inkworks273 . I've been having quite bad cramping on/off for the last couple of weeks and I remember having it with my sons as well. Fingers crossed it's not bad news for you x

thatshabbychick · 15/09/2018 06:20

Thank you for all the responses r.e. Symptoms coming and going. It makes sense that the hormones surge every few days because I seem to be fine for 2-3 days and then feel shit for a few days after that! Plus the symptoms are increasing in severity every time, so hopefully that's a sign that the HCG is increasing. I've been having the most insanely vivid and crazy dreams and nightmares and it feels like I have them all night long. I've not long woken up and last night I had a nightmare that I was having a bad miscarriage, it woke me up in the middle of the night and I felt like I wanted to cry 😢. I'm still getting a little bit of cramping on/off and the tiniest bit of very light pink discharge. I'm going to try to rest this weekend (very hard when you have 2 children!) and keep an eye on it. I've also got a bit of backache, but I did weights at the gym yesterday, so I think it's probably because of that 😬 I'm just feeling incredibly rough, almost like a hangover- I feel dizzy and sick and tired. I can cope with it if it's def just pregnancy symptoms, but because it's at the same time as the pink stuff, it's making me very anxious! 😔xx

frankiefumbles · 15/09/2018 07:30

@thatshabbychick and @inkworks273 ...after a great deal of introspection after my two MCs, I'm a firm believe that you cannot prompt these things and that what will be will be. (I don't mean this harshly, I mean this kindly).

@thatshabbychick this might just be the way your body deals with it. I know they say avoid too much heavy lifting, but equally in my non-doctor-role I feel as long as these things are within what's normal for you, continue to do them and listen to the body. I will continue with my normal activities but equally I will listen to my body and slow down when it asks me. You might be able to find ways to have some hands off time from the children. Re the dreams, I had all sorts of vivid dreams. They feel incredibly realistic!

@inkworks273 I'm sorry you're having horrible symptoms. It's so hard when you don't know what's going on. I hope all goes well for you, try to stay positive and at least you are in the right place to get checked out this morning. It may all be fine, but equally as I said above...some of these things just don't work and it's absolutely nothing to do with us, so please don't blame yourself and worry you've done something to cause the cramps. My friend had bleeding and cramping and she's now 20 weeks, so it's not always "the end". We are here for you if you need to talk.

Starmist · 15/09/2018 08:08

@inkworks273 I’m so sorry to hear you’re having a difficult time. I hope you can get some reassurance today xx

Has anyone else had a previous c section & their scar is hurting?
