Here is the link to the Next jeggings I bought. They are very comfortable but nice and fitted at the same time.

@toastfiend totally understand how you feel about coping with your changing body. I've struggled too, especially when this is the stage where for lots of us there's no definite 'bump' but definitely feeling thicker around the middle and under boobs. Clothes get tight, half the wardrobe gets made redundant and I found for a good few weeks every day was a struggle to get dressed and decide what to wear! I think now I've told people I feel far less pressure and I've bought some maternity trousers which are stylish and make me feel a bit more like myself. I've also been on the carb wagon so bloating has been a major issue. We will get there xx

ballanj · 01/09/2018 10:37

@Jenlou1992 you are exactly the same as me. Read my post to @toastfiend. I'm a first timer too so this is all new to me too. COMPLETELY understand re the bloating and outgrowing clothes. You're not alone!

melissa112 · 01/09/2018 11:05

Hi all, feeling the same body wise. I had quite bad morning sickness and lost 10lbs but yet i tried my jeans on yesterday and couldn't get them fastened. I feel like my belly looks bigger but just in a more flabby kind of way, not a bump or anything. Also been living off beige carbs since 5 weeks as it was all I could stomach/keep down

Does it matter that I've barely touched any veg in weeks? I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and that first week I ate really healthy but then as soon as the sickness hit I couldn't face anything remotely healthy. I've been taking my vitamins but just worried about baby getting nutrients when my diet has been so poor Sad

HidCat · 01/09/2018 11:18

With maternity clothes I always get my normal size though I may need a size up towards the end due to the pelvic spread. With regards to food, it's more important to eat what you can at this point, I'm sure everyone will be back on the veggies ASAP but the vitamin supplements will keep us going in the mean time.

toastfiend · 01/09/2018 12:16

Is anyone else getting quite bad pelvic and lower abdomen pain? I'm assuming it's round ligament and possibly pelvic girdle pain but I've been really uncomfortable for several days now. It's almost like a feeling of pressure and gets worse if I stand for any length of time or when I'm in the car for any length of time. I'm hoping it's just a usual part of pregnancy as I'm 14 weeks now, but it's playing on my mind a bit with the bleeding I had a week ago. Sad

VillageFete · 01/09/2018 12:17

Oh my diet is crap. It used to be filled with strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, string beans, water etc etc... but now I just can’t stomach it. I can only handle sparkling water with flavouring in, and my diet is ao basic.

Yesterday I had coco pops, 2 slices brown toast, a decaff iced cappuccino (Used to ADORE coffee, did not enjoy it at all) A Mcdonalds cheeseburger Blush Then about 4 slices of a bbq base pizza with chicken, sweetcorn, peppers and mushrooms. I had a milky way crispy roll too. Shocking Shock

Gronk27 · 01/09/2018 13:01

Just been to H&M and got leggings, jeans, joggers, a long shirt, a long sleeve top, a 3/4 sleeve top, 3 t shirts. Couldn't get on with the bras, think maybe I need to get measured-might go to M&S. H&M was the only shop in B'ham city centre with a maternity section!

I look so much more pregnant in the maternity clothes but all really comfy. I need PJs!

I got upset in the shop and asked DH if it was tempting fate buying things. Which I know is silly. He said-you need clothes to wear, be positive and you said yourself now we've seen a heartbeat more likely that not all will be well. I think shit jut got a bit real. It was also weird not looking at the 'normal' clothes and I was tired and achey and felt like a whale which I am really not.

@toastfiend I'm getting a lot of cramping.

My diet is still utter rubbish and keep forgetting to take my pregnacares. I'm hoping to start feeling better next week-2nd trimester.

Got freaked out by my nipples in the bath yesterday. With them having those little pimples and being discoloured but apparently it's all normal. Fun times.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 01/09/2018 13:03

Until the sickness (or feeling there of) stops I think the rule is pretty much just get anything in to keep you going.
I am rarely keeping my pregnacare down, so I really wouldn't worry about missing a few.
My jeans still comfortably do up but I can't wear them - I think it's more down to sensitivity in the area and anything tight makes the sickness feel worse. Your body is going to change a lot over the coming months, and it may not go back entirely to how it was so just go with the flow if you can

SquirtlesMumAgain · 01/09/2018 13:03

Oh and please don't get measured at M&S for bras!
Pop over to Boob or Bust on Facebook and use the calculator - you will get a much better starting point and you won't be fitted to what they have in store!

LittleKitty1985 · 01/09/2018 13:37

So I've spent all of today freaking out that my baby might have zika! Sad I wrote a post about it in the pregnancy forum, but basically my DH was in Singapore 3 weeks before we conceived & it's a high risk area...

cactusplant · 01/09/2018 13:49

Am I too late to join? Edd 17/3/19 baby no 3
Where are you all from?

MistakenHoliday · 01/09/2018 13:50

This is why I love this board: I've come on today to say how doughy and bleaurgh I feel and am reassured that everyone is feeling the same! My jeans fit but they're not comfy so I'm relegating them rather than jack g them hanging around to make me feel bad. I AM wishing hm for the bump though, rather than the bloat.

My morning sickness has made a disconcerting reappearance over the last few days. Always when I wake up and just horrific wrenching over the sink until bile comes up 🤢 I'm 14 weeks on Tuesday so hoping that this is MS's last gasp before it fades completely.

It'll all be worth it in the end!

Murphyrocks · 01/09/2018 14:21

Hi @cactusplant, no of course you're not too late, welcome! I reckon we may get a few more over the coming weeks as people get reassuring 12 week scans and feel more confident about joining the thread.

@LittleKitty1985 I'm no expert but pretty sure he would've had to get bitten by an infected mosquito to get infected, show no symptoms, quickly infect you, you not to show symptoms either, then have it affect the foetus which even in infected pregnant women is a very small risk. Was he bitten a lot out there/have either of you had symptoms? Have you had your first scan yet? They should pick up encephaly at that point if it is present I would've thought. I think you can also get tested for Zika? Regardless the odds seem very low but if its playing on your mind maybe mention it at your next appointment so they can put your mind at ease?

Murphyrocks · 01/09/2018 14:23

Also @cactusplant in answer to your question I'm in Leeds but we're spread pretty much all over the country so wherever you are you should have some local buddies on here! I'm also admin on the Facebook group if you want to join us in a less anonymous fashion! Drop me a PM if so.

LittleKitty1985 · 01/09/2018 14:28

@Murphyrocks I've posted more about it here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3352702-zika-risk-freaking-out

But yeah I have my next midwife appointment in just over a week, so I'll discuss it with her then. I know the risk is low but I still can't help worrying...
But I guess this is just what motherhood is like... endless worry! I'm generally someone with low anxiety so it's going to take some getting used to...

Elizabeth134 · 01/09/2018 14:36

Just been catching up on all the posts! Just come over from the pregnancy forum after a bumpy couple of weeks with a threatened miscarriage. 12 week scan next Wednesday and nervous to see everything still ok.

Been feeling really doughy and my boobs are huge - not doing anything for the body confidence.
Got quite a fancy wedding to go to in two weeks and really struggling for something to wear. Can’t help thinking might not even be pregnant by then so will just look chubby. ASOS has seen a lot of returns.

1st baby EDD 21 March

Murphyrocks · 01/09/2018 14:38

@LittleKitty1985 yes I can understand that, I'd be worried too, just do what you can to reassure yourself that the high likelihood is that its all fine!

HidCat · 01/09/2018 14:43

@LittleKitty1985 oh hun, I'm sure it's all ok. At what point can they confirm either way?

@cactusplant congratulations and welcome! How are you doing? I'm in Wales, you?

wordsmithereens · 01/09/2018 14:52

So much bloat here as well. I had a pair of jeans that were somewhat too large before, and they've been perfect. Otherwise leggings. Did buy some maternity clothes already second hand to be prepared, but most items are too bumpy still - dresses are such a great mainstay though!

Is anyone who's around 13/14 weeks feeling the promised energy surge yet? Walked into town with DH this morning, maybe half an hour to an hour roundtrip gentle walking, then promptly passed out on the sofa for an hour. I used to do nonstop 3 hours of dancing to fast paced music!

LittleKitty1985 · 01/09/2018 14:54

@HidCat From the research I've done today I think they might be able to give me some reassurance via scan in about 3 months, but often symptoms don't show until birth, or even after.

HidCat · 01/09/2018 15:00

@LittleKitty1985 fingers crossed they can give good news, I know it's horrible waiting but as with everything in pregnancy, try to stay positive as much as possible.

puravida31 · 01/09/2018 15:04

@toastfiend I’m also 14 weeks and still getting lots of cramps & abdominal aching - I’ve had it pretty much all the way through which I guess means it’s ok? Any severe pain I would tell the midwife / gp about though.

@wordsmithereens no energy surge or elusive ‘glow’ here yet, but less sickness so that’s an improvement at least!

Welcome @cactusplant!

cactusplant · 01/09/2018 15:27

Thanks guys I'm in the north west. I'll pm about the Facebook group now. Feels good to be at the 12 week mark Smile

cactusplant · 01/09/2018 15:29

@Murphyrocks don't think it will let me pm you off my phone. Is there a link to it or a term to search for?
