@pushit wow I wondered if we would have any twins in the group, congratulations Grin

Wineandchoccy · 15/08/2018 15:23

I have eaten a huge lunch with a colleague I feel sick now Sad

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 15/08/2018 15:28

I'm really struggling today not to eat myself out of house and home. I'm so so hungry. Constantly. Trying to restrict myself though as I've got a wedding dress to fit into in October!
So far today I've eaten a packet of crisps, a Greek salad with a flat bread & hummus and an ENTIRE cantaloupe melon.

sherbertdibdab · 15/08/2018 15:32

Checking in to the new thread.

Wow @pushit ! That's a bit of a shock! Sure you'll be fine, twice as many lovely squashy newborns to cuddle Smile

thecherryontop · 15/08/2018 15:43

@pushit how amazing! I'm sure it will take quite a while to sink in!

I've just booked a reassurance scan for this weekend.... I think google is my enemy and the more I read the more I would like a bit of reassurance. Have many of you had these? Not sure what to expect....

HidCat · 15/08/2018 16:21

@pushit that's amazing congratulations! You'll be fine, just a few more logistics to work out is all.

BuffaloGiraffe · 15/08/2018 16:25

waves to all those hopping over from the Pregnancy board.

@pushit, amazing! Huge congratulations! You will absolutely rock as a twin Mum, I’m sure. Could they tell if they were identical or fraternal at this stage? Just wondering if you have two of the same, or possibility or one of each 🙂

I wonder how many sets of twins we will end up with in this group!?

toastfiend · 15/08/2018 16:57

Hi all, just checking in.

@pushit wow, what a surprise! I was wondering how you'd got on yesterday as I know we had our scans the same day. I imagine it was a bit of a shock but massive congratulations, I'm sure you will absolutely ace it! Smile

Orville82 · 15/08/2018 17:01

Checking in!

Congratulations @pushit. Wonderful and terrifying all at the same time.

I just shoe-horned myself into a suit today interviewing for a job I’ve wanted for years. I felt like a double agent sat there knowing I was pregnant. The down side is although I think it went well, there is a 3 month probationary period so that’ll be a big fat pie for me then! Stupid bloody timing (the job, not the blob).

Squashbanana1 · 15/08/2018 17:13

@pushit wow twins! Congratulations! My OH is constantly teasing me and referring to my stomach as twins as I'm starting to show already at 11 weeks!

@ladycarlotta yes definitely feel at home with hungover people - I just eat so much too!! All the time!

I just can't wait to tell people so I don't have to constantly cover up the non drinking and feeling conscious that I look like I've eaten too many pies!!

ballanj · 15/08/2018 17:16

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to know if anyone else is suffering/has suffered shortness of breath in early stages? I'm 9 weeks and probably the last week or so I sometimes feel I'm struggling to draw breath. I'm a runner and running 3 times a week (albeit getting slowly) plus I swim. I don't feel so much short of breath, but sometimes struggle to draw a deep breath. Typically when I exercise I don't have any breathing issues whatsoever! But do find it worse when I'm tired. I've heard shortness of breath can be quite common in early pregnancy, just wondered how long I should leave before getting checked out. I'm 10 weeks Saturday.

Squashbanana1 · 15/08/2018 17:21

@ballanj could you be anaemic? Are you taking additional iron supplements? - I've heard it can be common in pregnancy, may be worth checking with GP/midwife

Clairemcd13 · 15/08/2018 17:25

@Murphyrocks can i get added to Facebook page please. How do i pm you on this?

Clairemcd13 · 15/08/2018 17:27

Checking in.... oh my nausea has been so bad today after my 1st morning sickness yesterday i was starting to feel slightly better, found out i was pregnant at 2 weeks so i am coming up to nearly 10 weeks of heartburn and nausea Confused

MisBit1 · 15/08/2018 17:42

Hi! Just checking in.

@pushit congratulations on the twins, scary but exciting! You’ll have double the fun!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I am so with you on the hunger today I can’t stop snacking - 3 bags of crisps, a small bag of popcorn, some dark chocolate and 2 pink and whites 😳 I was so good in my first pregnancy I put on 6lbs I feel like I might have gained that much just today!

MistakenHoliday · 15/08/2018 17:44

Just checking in!

toastfiend · 15/08/2018 17:45

@ballanj I'm really struggling with shortness of breath too. I was at the gym and running lots before getting pregnant but now I'm getting breathless even walking up a hill! I rode my horse the other day and had to stop as I was struggling so much. I did raise it with the midwife but she said it's quite common. I'm not anaemic (although I have been in the past). It's embarrassing though, I feel so horribly unfit, wheezing away when previously I would have been fine!

Angelmiracle · 15/08/2018 17:53

@ballanj @toastfiend I have also been struggling breathing too and was embarrassed it felt like I haven't exercises in years. I really struggled talking to DM when we were out walking. Apparently it can be from all the extra blood being pumped around but without a bump it doesn't seem right! I was anaemic in my last pregnancy. No bloods will be taken for another 3 weeks when I'm 11+2 Hmm

Aw @Orville82 good luck with the job you never know you may have excelled at the interview and they may want you any way!

ladycarlotta · 15/08/2018 18:00

@ballanj yes, we live on the second floor and I get that feeling - that my lungs aren't filling up - on the stairs. I've been climbing them for two years so it shouldn't be an issue really. I can only imagine it'll get worse as the baby grows into lung space, but I don't know if there's a grace period before that.

ballanj · 15/08/2018 18:10

@ladycarlotta @Angelmiracle @toastfiend I feel more reassured reading your experiences. I guess it's just another symptom I have to suffer! That and the bloating/gas. I'm thankful I don't have morning sickness thrown in for good measure! Sleeps not been great this week so reckon a few earlier nights might help aswell. I'm hoping some symptoms ease off in the second trimester. Feeling tired a lot lately and will be nice to get some energy/enthusiasm back

LittleKitty1985 · 15/08/2018 18:13

Greetings from Naples! DH and I are doing a 3 week tour of Italy; it's day 4 and I am thoroughly exhausted (& so so sad about not being able to indulge in Aperol Spritz etc). Still, not long until the second trimester now, I hear that's the sweet spot!

Pearcrumble · 15/08/2018 18:23

@thecherryontop I had a reassurance scan at 7+6 (but was put forward a few days to 8+1). I did feel less anxious afterwards, Dr Google says after you've seen a heartbeat at eight weeks the risk of miscarriage drops considerably. I know there's no guarantees everything is fine with the bean from the scan onwards, so perhaps my confidence is unfounded, but it can't be a bad thing to live with less fear and worry, I reckon.
The experience of seeing the little thing (raspberry/cherry/kidney bean/grape/delete as appropriate) and it's heartbeat was overwhelming and special and I am glad I got to have it.

WhatALearningCurve · 15/08/2018 18:39

Checking in Smile. Had my booking in today and had my scan scheduled for next Wednesday. Very excited!!

MistakenHoliday · 15/08/2018 18:52

@ballanj same here 🙋🏼‍♀️ I read it's a normal symptom but it's embarrassing trying to hold a conversation whilst climbing the stairs!
