I’m 7+5 today @Purplefushia
@MisBit1 it must be you first for your 12 week scan, have you got your appointment through yet!??

SurfingOwl · 24/08/2018 16:52

I’m not sure exactly how far along I am but not yet five weeks. I’ve been surprisingly relaxed but I think that I am totally in denial of anything going wrong.

PurpleFushia · 26/08/2018 12:02

Oh dear, morning sickness has hit me with a vengeance! First time I've actually thrown up - 7 weeks today so maybe about right for symptoms ramping up? Half relieved though I must say, though wondering why I was ever moaning about not having symptoms!

lolacola13 · 26/08/2018 13:11

@PurpleFushia so weird I'm 7 weeks today too and good god was I Ill... woke up with migraine and worse than ever nausea managed to doze over . Then was having crazy Trippy baby dreams. Forgetting the baby when we went out etc and not being able to find it around the house 😱🙈

dovegrey18 · 26/08/2018 13:51

Quite a few around 7 weeks then! Grin

PurpleFushia · 26/08/2018 19:00

Ooh, interesting @lolacola13 - maybe it is a 7 weeks thing then! And yay to have a due date twin - I seem to have been getting my weeks wrong as my app says 7 weeks 1 today but apparently I'm 7 weeks - is your estimated due date 14 April?

Booking in today, so that was good - am in the system so will just have to see what happens next. Weight was rather high as predicted but still in the "overweight" BMI category - I said I seem to have piled it on a bit due to snacking while nauseous but midwife was very nice and said don't worry about it, eat what you can and it will all sort itself out later on. Did decide to buy some mango chunks though rather than chocolate at the supermarket and actually they are very nice and refreshing so good for the nausea - expensive though!

lolacola13 · 26/08/2018 20:30

Yes due 14th April although I expect this to change when I'm scanned at 12 weeks as I ovulate late . I have put on a few kbs the last month or two as well allll the carbs I just want plain carbs . Tried on my nice white skinny leg trousers for holidays on sat needless to say they barely zipped . I may wind my neck in now before I gain to much I put on 4 stone last time. Going to start walking a few times a week too I did it last time and although it didn't help with weight gain , or maybe it did and I was supposed to gain five lol, I defo think it helps keep muscles toned for afterwards and the labor itself is such a marathon . I am getting referral to midwives this week so I'l prob get called for 10/11 weeks as I'm on hols . Going for early scan this week though at early preg unit as the last two times I haven't got past 6 weeks . Xxx

SurfingOwl · 27/08/2018 13:33

I hope those of you feeling unwell and better now, but not so much better to be worried!

Maydot · 28/08/2018 10:54

Hey ladies! How’s everyone doing with symptoms!??
I seem to feel sick all day, the only time I don’t feel Ill is when i’m eating and then I have indigestion and heart burn!!! 🤢

SurfingOwl · 28/08/2018 11:01

I don’t really have much in the way of symptoms although I did have heartburn last night. Thankfully I am still managing to do a good job of being calm!

PassTheAfterEights · 29/08/2018 13:21

Hey all, how is everyone getting on? Nice to see a few new names on the thread, hope the first tri is treating everyone kindly x

@Maydot & @Purplefushia hope you are hanging in there and not feeling too rough, in the moment it's impossible to think positive but weirdly glad for you both! @misbit1 any luck with your scan? so annoying - hope they have given you a date and you don't have to miss any school. Think you're furthest forward of all of us!

10 weeks today. Moody as hell but sickness has dropped right off, thank goodness - worried at first but apparently you can get over it that quickly. Finding the mental battle the hardest atm honestly, really cautious about getting too carried away in case there's bad news to come but equally counting down the sloooow 12 days to scan on 10th. Very sensitive to over excited DM and generally spikey with poor DH - then again, he doesn't have to deliver a baby, so he can lump it for now 🤷🙈

When we start the new thread we could add everyone's deets to rollcall so we know where we all are (name, age, child, EDD - some threads do 'team blue/pink/yellow' for boy/girl/don't want to know!!)

@jessabean - did you go for an early scan in the end? hope you are coping with the worry - for what it's worth i was having a particularly low moment last week when I read your post and made me feel so reassured that others are in the same boat. it's the funniest headspace ever, have felt genuinely very low on and off which is really unlike me in the steady state but fatalism seems to win most of the battles with excitement at the moment!

OP posts:
Jessabean · 30/08/2018 11:54

Hi @PassTheAfterEights

I'm ok thank you! Glad to hear you're feeling less sicky. I know it's a real rollercoaster emotionally this first trimester malarkey! As soon as you stop feeling like death there's relief followed by worry that something's gone wrong. 🙈 You're definitely not alone in the on & off symptoms and worry with wanting to be able to get excited but also a little bit scared to though! Am exactly the same!

I caved in the end and booked a last minute private early scan last weekend - after all my insistence I wasn't going to have any early scans this time! 🙈 Knew it wouldn't reassure me but my logic was I'd been feeling so awful and work is so busy over next month that if it is bad news - I'd rather know so I can stop feeling like death at least rather than trudge along then to only have bad news later!

Thankfully all went well though. Was measuring 8 weeks exactly so was 2 days ahead of where I thought and everything looked healthy. Puts me now at 8 weeks 5 days. As predicted still hasn't completely reassured me though as last time I had a healthy "viable" early scan at 9 weeks only for things to stop a few days later!

Plan is to have one last private early scan at 10.5 weeks (12th Sept) and if all is ok will leave it then until my dating scan on 27th Sept. Time is just moving so slowly though!! Keeping everything crossed for your scan on the 10th!

How is everyone doing symptom wise now? I've had a lull in the nausea/heartburn too over last few days but tiredness and overactive sense of smell seem to be the main things for me at the moment. Could sleep all day long if I could! 😴

Jessabean · 30/08/2018 12:43

Also forgot - roll call sounds good!

Jessabean, 29, TTC #1, pregnancy no.3. EDD at mo is 06/04/19.

PurpleFushia · 30/08/2018 19:13

Hello! Quick update from me - still a bit up and down emotionally, physical symptoms still there, and I'm starting to feel quite tight in the pelvis - I think this is my uterus expanding? Feels like I can't bend as easily. Considering breaking out my lovely over the bump maternity trousers for work but worried one of my nosy colleagues will spot the big elastic waistband! She rumbled me last time at 15 weeks!

Glad to hear everyone's still positive and great news on your scan jessabean - I'm wavering too but what might stop me is not having enough time to go around work and childcare (wouldn't want to take DS in case of bad news). Next week is the 8 weeks, which is the week the last embryo got to (though didn't discover MC until 11 weeks) so think I'll decide after that passes, assuming that all is ok. I'm hoping that once I'm past 12 weeks I won't be feeling like this anymore, but I'm worried that I might spend the whole pregnancy thinking the worst is about to happen ☹️. Hopefully not though, most likely if indeed a heartbeat at 12 weeks I'll calm down. A friend who's had a few miscarriages told me that she calmed a lot once the baby was moving around, so hopefully that will be the case for us too.

And for roll call:

MisBit1 · 30/08/2018 23:39

Lovely to read your updates.

I do finally have a scan date, I’ve not received a letter but I’m told I have an appointment next Friday at 9:45 when I’ll be 13 weeks. I’m going to have to miss pretty much a whole morning of school because of my commute 🙈 not looking forward to sorting that out with the head.

I’m really suffering with indigestion and seem to wake up at around 5am every day to go to the loo and then struggle to sleep again. I feel like I’m massively aware of my digestive system and can feel gas moving through it because of all the pressure in my pelvic region.

We’ve still barely told anyone and I’m starting to feel a bit awkward around my parents because we’re keeping it from them.

@jessabean glad your scan went well, do you have any pictures to share?

For rollcall

Jessabean · 31/08/2018 10:13

Lovely to hear you're getting on ok @PurpleFushia & @MisBit1 - as well as we all can be in this process!

Good luck for your scan next Friday @MisBit1. Will be thinking of you & keeping everything crossed!

Yea of course sorry I hadn't posted yesterday as was at work and didn't have the pics with me! Here are a couple/ not really sure what is what at this stage on the pics - think the second one looks a bit like a swan! 😂 my little Cygnet! 😂

Jessabean · 31/08/2018 10:17

With pics this time! 🙈 Baby Brain!

Hello

Can I join I just got my BFP EDD 7th May ish? Had a MMC followed by ERPC at end of May this year... this was my 3rd cycle post miscarriage.... So guessing we can catch the eggs ok just praying this time we have a sticky one.

Hope you lovely lot can help get though the next few weeks.

Love and blessings to you all xx

PassTheAfterEights · 31/08/2018 14:24

Amaaaazing pics @jessabean lovely little hatchling!! 🐣 delighted you went for it & keeping everything crossed for you. Logic seems very sound to me! Also finding the days very very slow atm, realise the worry will never completely go away but really hoping the second / third trimesters, assuming I get there, are more excitable and less worrisome - feel your pain anyway @purplefushia, hope you are OK and managing day by day, hang in there.

Nausea came back a bit this morning & have also had the tight tum, think it's called "round ligament" pain, is that right?? Feels like all sorts is stretching and not too willingly either!! My Gap girlfriend jeans are holding up admirably (literally - they were always falling down before & had to use a belt, now they stay exactly in place - total win), leggings almost to uncomfortable to be bothered with so think will have a look in the maternity depts if we have good news on the 10th. And make myself open the scary folder from the midwife sitting untouched on bedside table.

Speaking of clothes, anyone who's done this before have any hot tips on the shops? Was a bit carried away / dismayed with the price of the baskets I absolutely have not filled several times over in Jojo Maman & Seraphine but then discovered ASOS maternity, seems a bit more affordable and possibly stylish? I don't generally mind spending on clothes but I'm a 'invest in the classics' rather than 'spend on the trend' person so one season feels really galling to spend a load of cash on!!

@misbit1 great news about the scan, not so much the time off - how are you feeling about sharing the news; do you think you'll tell parents soon? Hope you are feeling OK about it anyway. It's a really hard line to tread between mitigating your own exposure and shutting people out, we really struggled.

Congratulations and welcome @Happysbno4 this is a lovely supportive channel for those agonising early weeks! Also hoping it is a sticky one for you.

Hope everybody else is OK and hanging in there.

Aloha everyone! So I had a scan at epu on Wednesday measured a few days behind I was told I'm 7wk +1 instead of my guess of 7wks plus 3 which is fine and we have a heartbeat and a wee bean and a yolk sac... she also said there is a small area of dark under the sack by about 3cm that said it's some blood possibly from implantation and it's not attached to the sac..anyone any experience of this? She said it will be reabsorbed or come out as a bloody discharge .... then I began to google which was stupid of course and now I'm scared I'm going miscarry again.

HidCat · 31/08/2018 19:56

Hi ladies, I just spotted this thread and saw several familiar names from TTC. Congratulations to everyone on y our BFPs, I hope you're all doing ok.

@lolacola13 try to remember that the sonographer would have been able to spot most of the sinister issues so if they're not worried, try to take reassurance in that.

Like all of you I've been really anxious throughout but had my 12 week scan yesterday and all looking good with a March 15th due date. Keeping everything crossed for you all that you're all progressing nicely and we'll be holding our take home babies in the spring.

PassTheAfterEights · 01/09/2018 19:28

@HidCat so nice to see your name!! Delighted you have made it out of the dreaded first trimester, congrats - everything crossed for you too, take home babies all the way xx

@lolacola13 I agree, I think if the sonographer was happy that's all you can take to heart really. It's really hard when everything feels like fresh cause for worry. Hang in there xx

8 weeks 1 day and super-symptomed up, which I guess is a good thing. Lots of nausea (have avoided actually throwing up again thank goodness) and hugely tired, not helped by work and toddler! But trying not to complain, it's a big relief to still have strong symptoms.

Exciting that you're at your 12 month scan @HidCat - I think you got your bfp while I was lurking on the TTC thread! The you feeling better about it now? I guess the feelings will never completely go away but it would be nice to feel a bit more confident that it's all going ok!

Sounds positive @lolacola13 I think that all sounds like things are going well! And 2 days is nothing on such an early scan, fraction of a mm. And bleeding for that kind of reason is really common at this stage and doesn't necessarily mean you will MC, I had bleeding at 10 weeks with DS and all is fine now (well, he's too heavy and energetic but you know!)

@passtheaftereights haven't tried ASOS do don't know, but last time round I got some tops from Isabella Oliver which are lovely (I'm wearing one today!). For trousers I went for Jojo as they did over the bump long length, got some plain black trousers and jeans. I tended to buy minimal amounts, just what I needed for out of the house, and wore leggings/ yoga pants at home. I also got some casual tops at H& M, they were partially good when my bump got bigger. Otherwise I just wore cardigans and some of my normal skirts, it was summer though which made life easier! If you want to invest in some classics it might be worth looking for tops which do double duty as breastfeeding tops (usually cunning openings) or which you could wear afterwards just normally due to the way they expand over the bump - I've been wearing this Isabella Oliver one frequently for the last 2 years so definitely got my moneys worth amd I don't think it makes me look pregnant all the time! But it's worth bearing in mind that you may need to change styles etc as you get bigger - e.g. going to over the bump trousers as you get bigger (they don't necessarily stay up with a small bump), needing longer line tops as you get bigger, etc. Plus hardly anywhere has maternity clothes on the high street so you end up doing a lot of mail order. So all a bit of a minefield really - but good luck with your shopping!

Hope everyone else is also doing well!

MisBit1 · 03/09/2018 22:30

Hello! Had my first day back at school and I am wiped out.

@jessabean 😍 little cygnet that’s so cute.

Congrats on the BFP @Happysbno4 sending sticky thoughts.

@PassTheAfterEights I liked New look for basics like maternity leggings and longline vests. I preferred to go over the bump. I think I got some tops and dresses from mothercare that doubled as nursing stuff. Best thing I did was go to bravissimo and get fitted for a decent maternity bra. Made such a difference to the comfort of my boobs.

Before yesterday we had told 3 people our news (sister, headteacher and TA) and that was really because it was need to know or unavoidable. Yesterday I told my best friend and another close couple friend who are also expecting (twins for them 😍). Today I went into school and my partner teacher had guessed. I started to feel a bit more positive and actually talked about it a bit. I’ve realised that telling people makes it feel more real and I’m a bit scared of getting my hopes up. All being well have a plan to tell family and friends when we hold DS’s birthday party in just under a fortnight.

@lolacola13 it sounds like they were trying to reassure you and if there were cause for concern it would have been escalated. 2 days out isn’t anything to be worried about. I was 6 days out at 7+5 and 3 days out at 9+6 so there’s a bit of variation but they are dealing with small measurements.

Glad to see @Hidcat is here to take the pressure off me being first 😁

@PurpleFushia sorry to hear you’re suffering with nausea. Think mine has mostly passed now so there’s hope for the future. I’d be worried about it clearing if it hadn’t been replaced by indigestion and dizzy spells. Was on my own getting DS ready for bed and got up too quickly. He was trying to climb me to be picked up. Luckily he was stood on my bed so I was able to push him sideways (still on the bed so soft landing) and throw myself onto the bed in the recovery position. We had to just lie there until DH got back because I didn’t feel safe to lift him. He was so good he just snuggled up to me and waited. Think he thought he was going to be allowed to sleep in our room he was quite disappointed when DH came back and took him to bed.
