Hi everyone... we have an addition to the girls group!! A lovely healthy little girl has just been scanned and all is well! So amazed and excited 💗💗💗

@kaytees yeah we've decided to not paint the Benjamin but instead I've got a wooden "B" to go in a collage on the other wall. We may find a cute giraffe pic to put on the stripe wall.

@WhatAnAbsolutePenis you too Hun. Mines at 9.30am. So glad it’s early. Couldn’t bare to wait the whole day.
There really are so many bad nail techs out there. It annoys me so much that these people do one days worth of training and then are left to work on a clients nails.
I’ve seen some really dodgy jobs in my time. I also refuse to work with acrylic because of the MMA in it. It’s horrible stuff and has been band in 3 countries. I only use gel.

Hi all, been a bit quiet on here, been a busy couple of weeks and I just seem to be exhausted constantly, 1yr old is also everywhere so I'm constantly having to stop her doing stupid things and hurting herself Confused

We've got our 20wk scan tomorrow, we have a lot of girls my side of family so I'm guessing that it might be another girl, can't wait to find out for certain though

Oh I didn’t know acrylics were bad @MagicalCreatures.

Do you make nails long using another method? Or do you just do gel nails?
I know nothing about this kind of thing, I’ve had my nails done twice in my life, once for getting married and once recently for holiday.

@WhatAnAbsolutePenis the gels I use are builder gels and they are extensions. Not just shellac/gellux etc. So you can extend the length using tips just like acrylic. It’s the same system as acrylic but just a totally different product/chemical. Much less harmful.
MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) is found in most, if not all acrylic systems and is actually used in cement.
If used correctly, acrylic can be a fantastic and strong product. The problem is, most of the places that use it are the little Chinese shops that pop up and they use the electric files. That’s what actually damages the nails.

This place is thai.
They do use electric files. My nails were absolutely shot to bits for about 3 months after that.
