I used to get my nails done every month. But now my nails are so strong!! Love pregnancy. Normally I have to have the gel powder nails (also done in a Chinese salon with electric files and stuff) because my nails are too weak and with all my hand washing at work. And I loved always having nice nails. But now I've saved £40 a month AND they're all natural!!

FluffyBunnyTails · 08/08/2018 11:03

So jealous of these nursery's! We rent so can't do much, may put some pictures up and bunting or something when we know whether it's a girl or boy when we meet them! My DH has started crossing off dates on a big calendar he printed - he has a while to go haha

@RomPom - thank you. I didn't think of the Sleepyhead for naps, although i'll probably be napping at the same time. I did read they're not safe so was really unsure. I have been torn as so many babies seem to love them.
So many things to think about and many have mixed reviews, I find it all overwhelming!

kaytees · 08/08/2018 12:12

@MagicalCreatures I actually find all the nail tech stuff fascinating! Have never had acrylics but get gels every 3 weeks after finally finding a girl in London who does an incredible job - I went to many a dodgy salon before and had awful nails as a result!

@Roomarmoset yay, a little girl! How exciting for you. We are starting to get a few more in this group now. Hoping to have mine confirmed tomorrow... on the plus side I have a million boys clothes from first time round so it's a win either way.

@Cakelaur I'm quite jealous of you being able to feel definite kicks, I think the anterior placenta is still masking a lot.I feel little waves and taps but nothing strong. How's your taking it easy going? I'm feeling tired and my ankles are killing me, I've been keeping up light gym and a couple of yoga classes but wondering if my body is starting to protest 😩

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 08/08/2018 12:41

@kaytees I totally feel you - I'm exhausted and ravenous constantly at the moment, plus my legs for some reason are super achy.

On the plus side, yay for a break in the heatwave!!!!!

WhatAnAbsolutePenis · 08/08/2018 13:37

Yes to pregnancy nail strength!!! I love it!

And my hair is growing ridiculously quickly as well!

December2018 · 08/08/2018 14:54

Also a yay for pregnancy nails and hair... well my nails are sort of strong but nothing amazing but my hair is ridiculous lol it's so thick and long I have to clip half of it up to keep it away from the face lol
.... I'll attach a pic it was just a bit longer than shoulder length before pregnancy so it's grown a lot 😂

December2018 · 08/08/2018 14:55

Can't get all of it in but yano what I mean lol

Kaytees you will feel them soon I'm sure! It's a super lovely feeling!
(Not at 3am tho)

FutureDays · 08/08/2018 15:53

Scan day today, we found out it's a girl.
I also found out I have an anterior placenta so probably why I'm only feeling occasional wiggles at the moment.
She wasn't cooperating very much for the scan so I had to keep jumping around to get her to move her hands away from face.

Cakelaur · 08/08/2018 15:58

@kaytees it's going ok. Because I run my own business (cake shop) I can choose to work from home. I'd sort of stepped back part time because of our puppy, so now I'm probably doing more work just at home. But it's good. I'm finally getting website maintenance done which has been needing doing for almost a year!! Haha!! Plus luckily it's quiet. I think I'll have to step back in in September, so just hoping it doesn't cause the placenta to play up.

I'm shattered again all of a sudden. The last few days I've struggled to get up!! I fall asleep around 10pm and wake up around 9am!! So I get plenty of sleep. But come midday I struggle to stay awake and have to find things to do to keep me awake until 10! 😂🙈

My OH looks at me like I'm crazy because he's up at 5am every morning so doesn't quite get it although he tries to be sympathetic! Haha

Yes mega lucky with the kicks.

Cakelaur · 08/08/2018 16:00

@FutureDays yay!!! Congrats on your little girl!! 🎀😍

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 08/08/2018 16:08

Yay @FutureDays 💗💗💗 come on girlies! So pleased for you all. Plus very helpful knowing where the placenta is for peace of mind for you. 🙌

AGirlinLondon · 08/08/2018 16:29

Yes me too with the tiredness again!!

Ps. I have never had my nails done in my LIFE so this is all very interesting!!

MagicalCreatures · 08/08/2018 17:34

@FutureDays yay!!! A gorgeous little girl!!! Congratulations!!!
Welcome to the anterior placenta club. I’ve barely felt a thing yet. A couple of what could have been very little kicks but could also pass for wind 😳 and abit of bubbling flutters. But otherwise nothing. 20 weeks tomorrow.
It downer surprise me hearing that your nails were so weak after visiting the Chinese salons. Those electric files are pure evil. Burn like a mother fucker aswell if they leave them in one place on the nail for too long.
Girls, I think I’m getting the start of SPD 😩 finding my legs are very achy through the day and waking up with painful hips in the night from sleeping on my side x

If I’ve counted correctly and without counting anyone I’ve missed or not updated on the spreadsheet
We’ve got 11 Boys and 8 Girls so far.

kaytees · 08/08/2018 21:09

@MagicalCreatures nooooo not SPD! I had it in my first pregnancy and it was not good. Seem to have escaped thus far but odds are it'll reappear.

Please feel free to ignore my advice / questions but... Do you have a good pregnancy pillow? Would also recommend getting a support belt on Amazon if you can especially as you're lugging about nail equipment.

@Cakelaur it's good if you can work from home a bit more! And if you feel like you need that much sleep and it's an option for you, then you'd be foolish not to, surely! OHs (even the lovely well meaning ones) generally don't get how tiring pregnancy is... and they'll never experience it (shame haha). I'm quite glad I don't run a cake shop as it is literally all I want to eat at the moment, keep having to stop myself deliverooing cake.

MagicalCreatures · 08/08/2018 22:59

@kaytees I’m not sure whether it is SPD but from the way I describe it to people, they think it could be.
I do have a pregnancy pillow. One of those 9ft U shaped ones which is amazing but I still can’t sleep on my side for more than an hour without getting the pain.
I don’t know what the support belts are. Any Chance you could send a link to one as an example so I know what to look for x x

@MagicalCreatures you poor thing - I remember I did find sleeping comfortably hard until I found the right pillow for me. This is the belt I had:

TechnoTec® Pregnancy Maternity Pregnancy Back & Bump Support Belt White Colour Size S, M, L , XL Or XXL (Eco-friendly Reduced Packaging!) (Large) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NVL6Y5U/ref=cmswwrcppapi_YF9ABb676F8A4

I was a size 10-12 pre preg and had a huge bump, the medium was a good fit. Midwife should be able to get a quick referral to physio for you, they may also provide a belt if you'd prefer not to pay for one but I found I preferred the amazon one. Everyone's different though. Good luck for your scan x

MagicalCreatures · 09/08/2018 07:25

@kaytees Thankyou so much. I’ll look into them.
Eeek I’m excited and so nervous at the same time.
Good luck at your scan too. Will be thinking of you x

Thanks!

Sooooo it would seem I am in fact having a boy! No mistaking it Blush I'm thrilled, was sorting through old baby clothes earlier in the week and realised how much 'boy' stuff we had, so we will save a lot. Plus I'm so happy my little boy will have a brother! He's actually measuring on the smaller side of average but sonographer (who's also a midwife) said as my first was so big it's likely this one will do a bunch of extra growing and be sizeable too.

December2018 · 09/08/2018 10:35

Ohhhh congrats babe!
Go team blue! 💙💙

December2018 · 09/08/2018 10:36

FutureDays congrats to you too sweetheart!💖💖
I just can't believe how far we have all come! It's amazing

December2018 · 09/08/2018 10:56

I had a bum sticking out my belly this morning ladies... I've had little feet and elbows (I think) but this was a definite bum! Weirdest thing ever anyone else had this yet??
Ignore my very stretched belly button! 😂

MagicalCreatures · 09/08/2018 12:20

@kaytees Awww Hun that’s lovely. Congratulations!!!! Glad everything looks ok.

Our scan went well too. It was a lot quicker then I thought. Baby was head down facing us so we got some great views of his face. He had his hands up by his face too. Sooo cute. And he’s definitely still a boy!!! 😳
Pretty sure I’ve been feeling little tiny kicks the last 2 days aswell. Even with my anterior placenta.
My midwife said I was measuring a week ahead but all measurements of baby are near enough spot on so I’m happy.
Here’s a little monkey x
