Oh dear @GoldilocksTheGraceless you poor thing. Sending you well wishes.
I’ve got a pain on my right side going up the side of my bump. Right in the centre. Is that ligament pain. It hurts more when I’m doing something or if I stretch and move around. X

balalalala · 03/08/2018 12:12

It certainly sounds like it @magicalcreatures hope it passes quickly!

Cakelaur · 03/08/2018 12:57

@GoldilocksTheGraceless glad bub is moving again. My little boy is too. Sorry about the sickness. I had that last week and it's still continuing the odd meal at the mo (usually dinner)

@MagicalCreatures sounds like ligament pain, maybe take it a bit easy over the weekend.

In other news I think we have a name!!!
Benjamin Alexander
After many debates we finally think we've got there!!!

SavanahXx · 03/08/2018 13:47

don't worry about it @Stephisaur bubba's have a habit of making the mummies extremely tired haha Smile had the appointment, waited a hour and half for a two minute appointment! how annoying Shock

glad your bub is doing cartwheels for you, glad comments helped you @GoldilocksTheGraceless and I hear you with the morning sickness! mines come back too, horrible isn't it.

hope you're feeling okay @MagicalCreatures ligament pain can be mega uncomfy!! hope it passes soon Flowers

That's such a cute name @cakelaur !! Smile bet Benjamin will be such a little cutie [happy] me and OH still cant decide on any names!! going to end up with a nameless baby at this rate haha ShockGrin

AGirlinLondon · 03/08/2018 13:49

Hey guys - I am convinced I am getting that sick feeling because of the heat too!

My baby is going mad in there. My OH had his head on my belly last night and got kicked in the face 😂

Stephisaur · 03/08/2018 16:03

@cakelaur Benjamin is a gorgeous name!

I feel sick on and off. I am eating my body weight in sweets though 😂

Baby is moving quite a lot, but never when I try to get DH to feel 😂 think the heat that radiates from him puts little tommy to sleep 😂

That’s another thing, baby will be called Thomas but I find it really weird when DH shortens it to Tommy. I don’t know why, because obviously Tommy is what we’ll shorten it to. I just prefer saying Thomas 😂

FluffyBunnyTails · 03/08/2018 16:14

Hi Ladies, am I too late to join? Been reading the thread from the beginning but due to a MMC last summer I wanted to get to 20 weeks, then kept bottling it for some reason.

Currently almost 22 weeks and due on 10th December.

I'm from Brighton (I see a few of you are too - yay!), but my DH and I currently live in Spain. I have private healthcare so I am having scans at least every month here which is great after last time.

Don't have any friends here yet or family so love having the thread and a few others to read (to make sure I'm not alone!) xx

kaytees · 03/08/2018 19:46

@Cakelaur love it - very classic and can be shortened or used in full! I always wanted a 'benji' so will live through you!

@MagicalCreatures defo sounds like ligament pain, it's quite shocking how strong it can feel sometimes! Hope it's settled now.

0lgaDaPolga · 03/08/2018 20:42

@cakelaur love Benjamin. My little boy’s middle name is Benjamin. We are still working on names. Dh and I don’t agree on many! So far we have Riley, Elliot and Oscar as options but I’d like to add a few more to our shortlist before deciding.

Hope everyone is ok in the heat. It was 32 degrees here today which is far too hot for me at the best of times! I walked 10 mins to the shop and felt like I was about to keel over pushing the pram up the hill on the way home!

Stephisaur · 03/08/2018 20:44

Welcome @fluffybunnytails 💕

balalalala · 03/08/2018 21:26

Lovely names! I think we've decided on Charlie!

MagicalCreatures · 03/08/2018 21:56

Thanks everyone. Pretty sure it is ligament pain. I jinxed myself as my friend asked me just the other day if I’d had any and I was like ‘nooo, none of that’ 🙄
Doesn’t help though that I have a very physical job that involves a fair bit of lifting.

@Cakelaur loving the name Benjamin. And the Alexander just rolls of the tongue nicely.

@FluffyBunnyTails welcome Hun. Brighton? Yay!!!! Where abouts did you grow up/live.
I’m in Peacehaven.
Sorry to hear about your MMC. It’s a rough time isn’t it. A lot of us have been there too so don’t ever let yourself feel alone x

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyTails · 03/08/2018 22:24

Thank you @StephisaurSmile

@MagicalCreatures Thank you. I grew up in Hove, well Hangleton so not the posh areas! Rented a few places in Hove when I moved out, then moved to Horsham before Spain with DH. It got too expensive!!
Had friends in Peacehaven growing up so visited there often. My Nan is in Saltdean so head that way sometimes when I'm over.
I see a few people have suffered loses, it's a comfort to not be alone but wouldn't wish it on anyone. My family and friends don't realise how hard it is, assume you just get over it. It always stays with you I think, I feel it does with me anyway x

MagicalCreatures · 03/08/2018 23:01

@FluffyBunnyTails they say Brighton is now the most expensive place to live other then London. It’s a joke.
I know saltdean very well. That’s where the majority of my clients live and my MIL+FIL. What a small world.
So what made you move to Spain x

Welcome @FluffyBunnyTails
I completely understand how you feel about this thread of lovely supportive women! I'm an Australian who has lived in the UK for many years and have recently transferred to Malaysia for my husband's work, so no friends and family here either. It's so nice to be able to touch base with other women who seem to be experiencing the exact same things as you!

ND348 · 04/08/2018 08:31

Awww love that some of you have got names already! We've still got nearly 20 on the list 😁

kaytees · 04/08/2018 08:58

@SunshineSnowflakesDaydreams wow that's quite a change for you! I'm an Aussie too, how funny that there's 2 of us on the thread. I guess in Malaysia you're a bit closer to home at least, but it must feel very different!

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 04/08/2018 09:16

Morning all 😍 I love hearing about some of your travels, we would love to move to Sweden one of these days...

Has anyone else experienced what I will now refer to as the half way panic?! Suddenly I feel like everything has to be ready, and yet nothing is. DP is much more level headed which is irritating and I'm finding myself trawling Pinterest to discover yet more things I could be organising or buying... anyone else feeling similar?

DoAsDreamersDo · 04/08/2018 10:08

Goldilocks I am currently having this panic too, but trying not to let myself go with it because I could probably just end up spending all the money I’ve saved up for maternity leave just buying stuff instead. Our next step is choosing colours for our nursery. It’s currently a pale blue, but we only moved in April so it wasn’t a colour we chose ourself so want to change it (and perhaps make it more feminine).

Gemsie1984 · 04/08/2018 12:45

I've been panicking for the last few weeks, especially now I know he won't be fully cooked when he's born. I've got almost everything, bar a sling and car-seat. Started on my hospital bag yesterday evening, so far it has a pair of pyjamas in it 😂 My SPD has been horrendous the last few days and I'm suffering with sporadic round ligament pain, which takes my breath away when the shooting pains start.. so I'm hobbling like I'm 90. Doesn't help my sofa is a low leather 3 seater.. trendy & nice to look at but not practical for pregnancy. Kids & OH find it amusing as it's like a 3 point turn every time I manoeuvre myself off it.. 🤨

December2018 · 04/08/2018 19:12

Hey ladies how are we this evening, sorry not been on for a few days been turning the spare room into an actual bedroom... painted and wallpapered... what do you guys think? Going for the dinosaur theme 😁

Ignore the old bed frame 😂 still moving things out to empty it completely

@MagicalCreatures - that doesn't surprise me, it's crazy expensive just to park in town now let alone live! Do you mind if ask what you do? Sorry if it's been mentioned before, I'm rather useless these days.
I have family all along the coast from Bexhill to Worthing, I do love Sussex!

We lived in Spain about 4 years ago but I moved back after a year due to difficulties finding a decent job. Got myself all back on track and DH and I got married so I was thinking we would have kids etc. Nope, DH was approached by his old company to return to Gibraltar for a role they wanted him for. He loves it here so came back, I stayed in the UK as wasn't sure. We fell pregnant during one of his visits one weekend which was a surprise but after it ended in a MC I decided I couldn't not be with him so moved back out. Luckily work have let me keep my job as it's a global company so I just transferred onto a spanish contract and work from home. Find it easier this time, learning Spanish (well trying but I'm so rubbish), have a job to keep me entertained and we have enrolled on an English antenatal class to hopefully meet some people. Not sure how long we will be here for but it's a lovely place for kids to grow up.

@SunshineSnowflakesDaydreams - that's exactly it! I don't have a midwife, just see my doctor monthly who does all the things a midwife would do in England but they don't you much info so hopefully can get help/advise on here when I need to. Malaysia is a big move!! How are you finding it and what's the healthcare like? Is this your first baby?

MagicalCreatures · 04/08/2018 20:35

@FluffyBunnyTails I’m a mobile Nail Technician. Used to work in the beauty salon in Rottingdean before I decided to go by myself. I do love Brighton but Churchill square shopping centre is now £15 for 4-6 hours parking. And buses aren’t any cheaper. It’s crazy.
Sounds like your making the most of the Spanish life and doing all the right things to make a go of it out there. I hope you meet some nice people and get settled before baby arrives.

@December2018 that looks amazing. Loving the wallpaper. I’ve noticed that dinosaurs are the ‘in’ thing with baby boys this season. They’re everywhere in the shops on baby items.
Boots have an amazing half price sale on clothes at the moment. So I spent £45 (to get free delivery) for £90 worth of clothes and ended up with £12 worth of advantage points aswell with my special vouchers etc. So chuffed.

balalalala · 05/08/2018 07:46

@december2018 loving the dinosaur theme! How exciting getting it ready! We've got most of the stuff left from last time but need to check out what or if we need anything. Need to dig out the car seat and chicco next2me to check they're still in good enough condition!

kaytees · 05/08/2018 08:34

@December2018 love that - the wallpaper is amazing! Really light in the room too. I loved how we decorated my sons nursery (trying to attach a pic) but we've since moved and now need to re think it all.

@GoldilocksTheGraceless I totally had this yesterday - woke up panicking that nothing was done and insisted on going to ikea to shortlist what we needed for new room / updating my sons room! (Also because it was air conditioned).

This halfway point suddenly feels exhausting - my back is killing me and I've out of nowhere put on 3kg from when I got pregnant which I'm not loving (was technically overweight already). Anyone else randomly feel overwhelmed some days?!
