@December2018 love that - the wallpaper is amazing! Really light in the room too. I loved how we decorated my sons nursery (trying to attach a pic) but we've since moved and now need to re think it all.

@GoldilocksTheGraceless I totally had this yesterday - woke up panicking that nothing was done and insisted on going to ikea to shortlist what we needed for new room / updating my sons room! (Also because it was air conditioned).

This halfway point suddenly feels exhausting - my back is killing me and I've out of nowhere put on 3kg from when I got pregnant which I'm not loving (was technically overweight already). Anyone else randomly feel overwhelmed some days?!

@MagicalCreatures - great to be able to be out and about and not stuck in an office. I imagine it will be tiring the further you get but I assume you work for yourself and can at least pick your hours?

Just wondering what everyone is doing for sleeping arrangements in the living area aside from a Moses basket?
I was looking at those large bean bags for babies, not entirely sure if they're safe so need to read more into them first. We have house rabbits who may jump up or chew it too.

Cakelaur · 05/08/2018 16:41

Benjamin's room is all painted! Got a few touch ups. But you get the idea. Now I just need to sort the furniture. And debating if I wanna do "BENJAMIN" in white or yellow across the big navy stripe.

Cake that's gorgeous!!
I can't wait to see all these lovely rooms when they're done!

Cakelaur · 05/08/2018 17:55

Thanks @December2018 I love your 🦕 wallpaper too!! Just sooo cute!! We couldn't be bothered to wallpaper!! Haha!! So opted for painted option! But I'm loving it. Can't wait to see everyone's rooms come together!! 😍

0lgaDaPolga · 05/08/2018 18:35

These rooms are so cute! My poor little baby won’t have a room for a while. Our 2nd bedroom is currently a guest room and will move our older son in there once the baby is big enough to have the room he is currently in. As much as I’d like to have their bedrooms sorted it’s much more useful as a guest room at the moment so will keep it this way until baby is a few months then move them.

RomPom · 05/08/2018 18:38

Aw, I love seeing everyone's nurseries! We're moving house in December, so there's no point in doing any decorating, so I'll just have to live my nursery dreams through all of you.

@FluffyBunnyTails I've got a Sleepyhead for daytime napping. I used it for DD1 and she loved it. I even used it for nighttime as well, but not sure that's recommended. But will definitely use for daytime.

AGirlinLondon · 05/08/2018 19:15

So nice to see everyone else also starting to get ready. I am a really organised person (just am, always have been) and my team at work have been seriously taking the piss out of me for it since I told them I was pregnant. It’s not serious stuff just things like ‘bet she’s already bought a pram’, ‘bet they’ve chosen a name ages ago’ etc etc. I laugh along but I HATE it!

December2018 · 05/08/2018 19:33

Haha it's good to be organised tho right? Better that way than leave everything until last min like me usually 😂

Well on a different note... has anyone been having aching bums and thighs??
For the last couple of days mine has been aching like mad! Specially my bum cheeks and down the backs of my legs, so annoying
And ohh my the heartburn! How do I get rid any tips?
I've tried peppermint tea, milk and yoghurt

balalalala · 05/08/2018 20:31

Gorgeous room cake! Lucky Benjamin!

We're another one who's hoping to move and keeping the bedroom as a spare one unless we get to baby being 6months and still being here! Last time we used dd's buggy for daytime naps parked in the lounge, but this time think we'll just pick up a moses basket as it was a hassle cleaning the wheels before bringing it in!

MagicalCreatures · 05/08/2018 20:41

@Cakelaur I LOVE IT!!! How did you get those stripes painted straight without t being wallpaper. That exactly what I want to do but with mint green, pastel yellow and light grey.
@FluffyBunnyTails yeh I can choose my hours but I’m pretty busy so don’t get a lot of time off. I’m starting to worry abit about how I’m going to carry all the equipment when I’m 30 weeks 😧

Someone mentioned how they were panicking about how quick it’s all going and not having enough time to get everything prepared in time.
Well..... I’m having that panic. Quite honestly. My anxiety isn’t getting the better of me.
We still need to get the bathroom completely re-done
All the doors in our flat replaced
The kitchen floor replaced
The babies room decorated and set up
And I’ve only got 20 weeks and my husband is useless. I’m the one that ends up doing and sorting everything but obviously I can’t now coz I can’t lift anything.
And we’ve just been hit with another massive maintence bill for £750 coz our maintenance company is so shit, they never have any money in the reserve fund. God knows why. We already pay £130 a month.
Sorry girls!!! Rant over x

Take it day by day @magical - it’s all you can do 😊 we are on the verge of having the back of the house knocked down and usually that would be sending me into overdrive but I have accepted my new limits!

@December I have just come back from walking the dog and I had the worst butt cramp ever!! Had to stand in the road stretching it out!

Cakelaur · 05/08/2018 21:44

@MagicalCreatures I used a spirit level and drew a faint pencil line then masking taped. Painted and then removed the masking tape. Voila!!! It was actually really fun!! Just note to self if you leave the masking tape for two long it can peel the paint off (thus the odd touch ups) but it took about 45mins to measure and mask and then house or so to paint it!! I love it so much. And hopefully we can add some "baby" bits now and then when he's older we can take the baby bits away and add more kiddy things. 💙🤞🏻

PickettBowtruckles · 05/08/2018 22:42

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well :) I can’t believe it’s almost/already has been the halfway point. I’m 20 weeks on Wednesday, but don’t have my scan until next Monday. Really looking forward to seeing bubs again :)

@MagicalCreatures I’ve been getting a really similar pain that you’ve said about, the ruby hand side. The best way I can describe it is like that feeling when you get a stitch after exercising, but its constant! Really struggling in the heat as well, I was awake between 2 and 5am last night where I was so sweaty and gross. Have been feeling baby move a lot more the last week, but she’s been quiet this weekend which worries me slightly. I know there’s little point in counting before the 3rd trimester but I think I’ll still give the midwife a call in the morning for a bit of reassurance. Hope you all are feeling well ladies :)

MagicalCreatures · 05/08/2018 23:13

I know. I really need to accept my new limits too. I’m abit of a control freak when it comes to just getting stuff done. I hate waiting around and the fact that my husband takes years to pull his finger out. I always just get on and do what needs to be done.
@Cake so was the wall all white before then. I’m definitely gonna do this. I saw what I wanted on Pinterest ages ago and have been racking my brain abit how to do it.
I’ve got my 20 week Scan this Thursday. Anyone else it one this week x

Hang on, that stripy wall's not wallpaper???

O.
M.
G.

I'm astounded. That is bloody fabulous!

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 06/08/2018 09:12

Wowza these rooms look incredible!!!

@MagicalCreatures i feel for you re the maintenance pay outs that really sucks.

We have our 20 week scan today at 2 and I'm hopping already!! Way too excited/nervous to do anything productive in the meantime but also can't relax at all... feel like I need to go for a run or something 😂 #notgoingtohappen. Will tell you later if it's a boy or a girl!!!!

kaytees · 06/08/2018 09:17

@MagicalCreatures sounds like you needed a rant - how rubbish that everything's hit at once! I too have a husband who says 'of course we'll get it done' but I'm starting to get the familiar anxiety where it's not getting done and I know I'll end up doing it. I'm keeping everything crossed that once his marathon is over he might actually tidy his 'office' which will be baby's room. And snap, my scan is Thursday too!

@Cakelaur looks amazing! Love the idea of painting the name, just don't do what I did and have your name all sorted then look at the baby and realise the name doesn't suit him... mind you, Benjamin is such a lovely name I'm sure it will work fine! X

RomPom · 06/08/2018 09:36

Today is gonna be a long one for us. I'm driving my mum to Liverpool for a consultation with her surgeon, so hopefully we'll get a surgery date and then we can make plans to get her back to the Isle of Man with me for her recovery.

Since I've been away, OH has found what we hope will be our forever home. The only problem is the current house needs to be knocked down and the forever home needs to be designed and built! Not sure how it all fits in with us hoping to move house when our tenancy ends in December. I'm trying not to stress about that yet.

@Cakelaur amazing decorating skills. I'm seriously jealous that I'm too unskilled (lazy) to do stuff like that!

WhatAnAbsolutePenis · 06/08/2018 10:34

@magicalCreatures I have my scan on Thursday as well.

11.45

I’ll have the kids with me due to no childcare (summer holidays) so I hope they’ll allow them in with me!

WhatAnAbsolutePenis · 06/08/2018 10:37

MagicalCreatures I wish I’d known you were a nail technician. I had acrylics done two weeks ago and not very well. Then took them off myself (REALLY not very well) yesterday.

Gemsie1984 · 06/08/2018 12:38

I'm a hot mess today.
My insomnia is being a massive dickhead and I've not slept properly in weeks. Last night I had no sleep. Literally not even 5 minutes. Compounded by this is the fact my feet keep over-heating and my RLS is kicking off meaning I can't stop fidgeting. This is despite sleeping naked with the fan on max and my poor OH wrapped in the duvet shivering. To add to my woes my piles have decided to join the misery party and now every time I poo I'm bleeding with clots! Mentally I'm at a low point today!! 😩

AGirlinLondon · 06/08/2018 12:47

@Gemsie not being able to sleep is torture. I’m convinced it’s to get us prepared. Can’t wait for the weather to cool down too!!

Gemsie1984 · 06/08/2018 12:52

Jack likes to party between 3-5am too, which doesn't help! He gives some pretty hefty kicks now 🙄

December2018 · 06/08/2018 14:03

Aww gemsie big hugs girl! That sounds shit!
I know what you mean about the early morning partying sessions these babies seem to be having, this little fella gave me such a boot yesterday it made me jump 😂

Ohhh so many scans coming up I'm so exited cited for you all 😊
I'm just waiting for my 2nd 20 week scan appointment to come thru hopefully he won't be as mischievous this time and can get a propper look at him 💙
