December I’m so sorry. What a shit time!!!
I don’t have any experience I’m afraid at coping with anything like this.
But I’m sending lots of hugs and support if you need it.
Do you think your mum feels awful about it all now that’s she’s sobered up?
Must have been so scary for you. You really do need to focus on yourself and baby and next time (if there is a next time) walk away. It’s not your issue anymore. She is an adult.

Thanks girls I feel much better today, my mum cane round to mine last night and she couldn't apologise enough, she's mortified...
I have had to sit her down and explain that I just cannot let her see the baby if she's drinking and it just cannot happen again, and me & my sister ordered Chinese food last night that cheered me up too lol...
It's just unbelievable how much alcohol can change the sweetest most loving person into the devil

0lgaDaPolga · 10/11/2018 09:45

Oh December2018 you poor thing that’s awful! It must be so hard. Hopefully the thought of not seeing her grandchild if she’s drinking will help keep her sober. Hope your knee is better soon and I’m glad all is ok with the baby

0lgaDaPolga · 10/11/2018 09:47

I’ve just had to google what an Aniball is and omg! That looks...erm... interesting. I looked at the notes from my son’s birth and his head was 35cm circumference so I guess at least I know it’s already managed to stretch that much once so can again! Blush

AGirlinLondon · 11/11/2018 17:50

Yes I think it’s a good little reassurance tool for FTMs, if you know you can do it I guess that’s all the reassurance you need!

It gets easier every time I do it and I no longer freak out at the bit where it ‘crowns’ - I feel like I’ve learned a lot from it. Like the fact that I am just great at tightening my pelvic floor but hopeless at loosening it. Not ideal!

I’ve read some REALLY judgemental comments over in the homebirths section about it, but whatever gets you through I guess. My midwife and doula both mentioned it so I thought worth a try ☺️

Athers666 · 12/11/2018 12:48

Feeling so relieved right now, have cut down my hours at work so I'll be doing three days instead of five. I have been struggling so much and crying lots with the stress of how will I keep going so this is a huge huge weight off my mind!

AGirlinLondon · 12/11/2018 18:14

Well done @Athers. Glad to hear it. I am full time working from home now (I am full term) and feel so much better. Last night I had a dream I couldn’t breathe and I woke up and I really couldn’t breathe - the baby was literally suffocating me! Took a while to calm down - am in no state to go to work!!

emwithme · 12/11/2018 20:08

Had a birth dream last night...and it wasn't awful! I think I'm nearly at the "get this damn baby out of me" stage though. We have a consultant appointment on Week to see if they want to induce me early or plan an ELCS.

Fortunately at the scan on Friday she'd turned so is no longer breech (Grandma Knows Best).

Tomorrow's plan is packing my hospital bag and working out how to attach the car seat to the various things (isofix base/pram wheels) that it needs to attach to!

Athers666 · 14/11/2018 12:05

Had another growth scan yesterday and all is well with baby. Estimated weight is 5lb11! My daughter was only 5lbs15 when she was born at full term. Anyway they don't want me back in until mid December for one final scan. So glad he's ok in there even though I'm in agony in my ribs! Also I still have a trace of protein in the urine but they keep saying a trace is not a concern and is quite common at this stage. Could be due to dehydration as I'm still being sick a fair bit from the heartburn. Just want baby here now! Four weeks three days until due date!
How is everyone doing? X

balalalala · 14/11/2018 12:29

Great news that the scan was all very positive.

I think my baby has flipped back to back... I'm off for a pregnancy massage and reflexology treatment this afternoon so hoping he turns back. Other than that, I'm feeling quite on top of everything so just busy relaxing. My dd is being quite hard work at the moment as she won't allow her dad to get her out of bed, go to her in the night and has a massive melt down if he tries to take her to nursery. I know she's just picking up on things changing but it's exhausting!

emwithme · 14/11/2018 15:21

You can tell it's been a Bad Day in the obstetric clinic because there's half a tray of sandwiches, fruit and biscuits on the edge of the reception desk.

Appointment meant to be at 3. Wonder what time I'll be seen...

MagicalCreatures · 14/11/2018 22:44

I’m glad you’re all doing well. Growth scans are all good etc.
I had another spotting of blood on Tuesday morning. Had to go back to Triage for another Ante-D injection.
They monitored baby just incase I was having contractions but all was well.
I really think he might come early though. Even the midwife at the hospital commented on how low he was sitting.
Some days I can’t walk without feeling like he’s gonna fall out.
Had a trace of protein in my urine too but I think that’s normal. She certainly didn’t mention it. Found it in my notes after but I’ve got a midwife appt tomorrow so might see if she can test againti be sure. X

First false alarm last night. Was lucky to be discharged - they wanted to keep me in! But care was absolutely excellent and am at home resting now. Baby 2/5 and still all closed up 😂 One lesson I have learned for other FTMs - there is NO FOOD in maternity. Not even a vending machine in ours. Take food! Even if you think you’re only going to be there an hour - take food!!

0lgaDaPolga · 15/11/2018 14:39

I’m feeling so heavy at the moment. Even on a 5 min walk I feel like he is about to fall out! Anyone else a bit worried about going into labour while they are out? I was induced with my son so I never went into labour naturally so I’m not sure I’ll recognise early labour and worrying about my waters breaking while I’m out somewhere!

kaytees · 15/11/2018 16:56

Ooh, everyone's getting ready now! How exciting. @Athers666 I'm so glad to hear the growth is on track, must be nice for you to feel less worried about that.

I was checked over last week and baby was breech and back to back, though at consultant today they scanned and he's head down (I reckon it was the furniture painting, similar to your kitchen floor scrubbing advice!). They've submitted the request for c section now and I'll get the date through in the next 2 weeks. Prob about 5 weeks til he's here! I did have an entire spiel about my research and previous birth prepared but it was a different consultant today and he looked at my notes and said yes, a section is the best option! I shall save my speech for another day...

Athers666 · 15/11/2018 17:24

Wowsers reading all of these updates is making this feel very real! Seems like we're all going through various scary things!
Magical Creatures sorry that you had bleeding, do you know the cause? I'm Rhesus Negative also so have to have the Anti D if any bleeding etc.
GirlInLondon eek! Hope you're ok and resting up, when's your due date? Thanks for the food heads up, very good point. My mat unit has a vending machine but nothing of much excitement in it. Only diet drinks too so can't get a sugar hit with a can of Coke!
Hugs to everyone dragging themselves through these final stages...we've got this, right?!

AGirlinLondon · 15/11/2018 18:18

@Athers due 4th December so 19 days to go - if he tries to come now, he is coming out!!

We have all got this.

My health visitor came today. She was so nice. Really kind and wanted to talk about how I was feeling etc. I have felt very supported and lucky with my care.

emwithme · 15/11/2018 19:03

Hospital bags packed. Car seat base is fixed into the car, pram assembled and Next2Me is next to the bed.

17 days at the most... She can come whenever she wants now!

MagicalCreatures · 16/11/2018 00:37

@Athers666 no they’ve never found reason for the bleeding I’ve had. I’m just one of those unfortunately.
Though I had my 34 week midwife appt today and my usual midwife was off sick (I’m not sure I find her very good though and clearly she isn’t) so I was seen by someone else. She found a letter that was sent to them dating back to the first week of October about how they’ve found antibodies in my blood and I need 2 weekly blood tests (which obviously haven’t been done because my midwife never mentioned it)
She said they’ve noted that it could be traces of the Ante-D in my system for the injections I’ve had or it could be the obvious (that my blood has made antibodies)
I’m hoping it’s just the Ante-D but now they want regular bloods from me and the baby will have to be thoroughly checked when he is born.

Morning everyone, haven't been on here for a while, so just catching up. Hope everyone's doing ok what with hospital visits, mother problems etc...@December2018 I used to have similar issues with my mum until she stopped drinking, so understand how shitty it is.

My mum was in hospital for a week with an infection, which has postponed her chemo. She's very up and down and the down is so terribly draining. Our new house won't be ready for us to move into by Dec 1st, so we're going to have to find some temporary accommodation with all our stuff in storage! I can't even get stressed about it because it wouldn't do any good.

Had a scan last week due to reduced movements and despite the midwife telling me she was head down, the sonographer confirmed she was very much head up, so I'm not sure I trust the midwife poking around anymore. Can't wait to hear the baby announcements starting!!

AGirlinLondon · 19/11/2018 12:40

Any other early December folks getting lots of cramping and cervix pain now?

balalalala · 19/11/2018 13:04

I was but it's eased off the last couple of days. Had a growth scan this morning at 38 weeks and apparently he's currently measuring 7lb7oz... She did say it was super difficult to do though as it's so late on!

Athers666 · 19/11/2018 16:29

I kept waking up last night with period type pains. Nothing happened as such and I'm at work as normal but it was so scary! Not liking this at all now! Will be 37 weeks on Saturday.

AGirlinLondon · 19/11/2018 16:36

I agree it is scary! Probably the weirdest but if pregnancy, if not the weirdest time of my life - so much waiting! I am now on mat leave and my body is very happy about that. It wants to sleep and watch Netflix

emwithme · 19/11/2018 17:07

Yes , lots of cramping and general aches here (38+1) Cannot get comfortable and just feel like pants.

Need to get a few more meals batch cooked and into the freezer and sort a couple of bits out but other than that I'm ready.

Got scan and consultant appointment on Wednesday so may well discuss induction then.
