Hello all and welcome to this month's thread!!
Let's all stop feeling sick and start expanding now

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Imawurzel · 31/05/2007 07:30

Hi all.
Just seen this thread.Mind if i crash??
I am on the due at new year thread too.
I am 10 weeks today.
Doc worked out that i am due on 29th December. Scan will probably change that though??
I guess i was lucky as i wasn't actually sick at all, felt it though. Felt bloated too even after having just half a tin of beans and 2 slices of toast!!
No more though.
I have a mw appointment on the 5th then i guess i'll get my scan date through
i can't help reading up on how my bean is doing now(The head is bigger than the body,it has 4 chambers in it's heart, fingers & toes are less web like etc)
But part of me feels that i shouldn't do this in case 'something' happens.

Louise76 · 31/05/2007 07:59

Hello everyone. I've just looked at the chart and it says I am having a boy. I hope it is right as I would love to have a boy! That sounds bad because I'm sure I would be happy with a girl too but I can really see myself with a boy. My hubby had a dream that it was a boy last week and he keeps unintentionally referring to the baby as 'he.' I won't find out the sex at the scan. I'm a bit p**sed off actually as I only get 1 scan on the NHS here (at 12 weeks) so will have to pay for my 20 week scan. I definitely want a 20 week scan as I worry about everything so much that I need to know that everything is OK (or not). Is anyone else in a 'postcode lottery' area where they only get 1 scan on the NHS?

Nbg · 31/05/2007 08:05

Well I'm 14 weeks as of yesterday.
Still totally knackered. Come lunchtime all i want to do is sleep.
Had a bad night last night thanks to ds.

I hope this new baby is going to be a sleeper lol!

Has anyone actually bought any baby stuff yet?

jinxed · 31/05/2007 08:07

NBG - i think im in denial.... i havent even CONSIDERED baby stuff! We have a moses basket and the cot and thats it!

Should really start thinking about it, but since finding out my mum had a late MC at 18 weeks, Im a little nervous.

Nbg · 31/05/2007 08:14

I know what you mean jinxed.

I dont actually think we need that much. Just moses basket, newborn sleep stuff again and a double buggy

jinxed · 31/05/2007 08:19

oooh dont get me started on double buggy! Got a feeling i will give in and buy one, just in case. DD2 will be just 2yo so not really sure what to do! What with that and a lazy 3yo, i guess it may be a godsend!

Nbg · 31/05/2007 08:49

Oooo thats a toughie jinxed.
I was juts going to suggest a buggy board or a seat to go but then you said you have a 3yr old too

I think a double buggy and a buggy board would be good for you.

MotherofZ · 31/05/2007 08:52

not sleeping well either, keep needing to pee in the middle of the night and then tossing and turning as I can't back to sleep...
Actually having sme wierd dreams too...keep dreaming that I'm a spy for the CIA, lol, with a handsome sidekick.....

Nbg · 31/05/2007 08:54

Yes I'm also getting lots of dreams.
Have had quite a few nice ones and some very bizarre ones lol.

Lol at your handsome sidekick MZ

MotherofZ · 31/05/2007 08:57

NBG - yes he is very handsome, blond hair, blue eyes, nicely tanned and built, bit of a spark between us, but trying to keep things professional in our hectic CIA jobs, lol,
I usually never remember my dreams...

Nbg · 31/05/2007 08:58

snort

Maybe the saga will continue this evening

MotherofZ · 31/05/2007 09:00

Weird am remembering these ones......!!

Lizzer · 31/05/2007 10:25

Hi dundee, I only just saw that part of your msg about your mum, I'm so srry, no help about heart's but dp's mum recovering from aneurysm in brain so I know how stressful and awful it all is....take care hun.

Nbg,Yes I've booked a 'sleeping, good as gold' baby this time round, they're on offer at the moment I believe

Also Nbg, I'm not being snotty but I did post the predictor calendar on the last thread! However, did you know you need your chinese age? (I know some of you have done this already so sorry for banging on about it) As mimicakey said you practicaly needed a degree in computing to work it out tho.. There's an easy way to do this now here www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/pred.html It changes the results completely!

Its a shame about your one scan Louise, its shocking how awful the NHS can be with its 'lottery'...

wow Neuro, I don't think I could keep secret for that long!

Hello Imawurzel and welcome, you inbetweeny you! Doesn't matter, everyone's welcome to waffle on here

OP posts:
Lizzer · 31/05/2007 10:29

ps time zone = 0 (i've worked out)

(God I am obsessed with this bloody chart, how sad am I?!)

OP posts:
Nbg · 31/05/2007 10:41

Lizzer, I did try the one you posted but I couldnt figure it out lol

At one point I got my age as 4 lol!

Lizzer · 31/05/2007 10:46

Yeah I'm sorry it really was awful! Try that one I've just put it on, it does all the hard work for you getting the chinese age

I haven't got any baby stuff yet but I think I've got over my brief addiction to the bugaboo, they're going for £300 second hand on ebay but still too much really, I think mclaren is the way fwd...

becklespeckledfrog · 31/05/2007 11:05

Hi all! Welcome to newbies and hope everyone okay! Sorry to hear about your Mum Dundee, its hard when they are unwell and you are far away. I hope she is okay and you have a good visit this weekend!
I got the date through for my next scan this morning, 8th June! Will be 11+1 so is a little earlier than I had hoped but am still excited! Don't seem to be able to eat anything remotely good for me at the mo, just cereal, crisps and toast. Nausea seems really bad last couple of days, especially in the evenings - last night I struggled to get a glass of water down!

Housemum · 31/05/2007 11:14

Hmm - tried again with that one - DD1 should have been a boy, DD2 a girl (well, I suppose DD1 was never into dolls, doesn't like dresses/skirts and likes computer games whereas DD2 likes anything pink & sparkly and has loads of baby dollies!) This one is supposely a boy - weird, I had a dream where I was feeding my baby, and my mum came in to hold "James" as she called it. (Though that's not a name that'll be on our list as I'm not keen on "Jimmy")

A boy would be nice, but we have soooo much girly stuff in the house! (And as baby will be sharing with DD2 if it's a boy he'll have to like the pink flowery lampshade - at least the walls are still the neutral coffee-and-cream that we painted the room before DD2 was born - an alternative to the usual yellow for a nursery)

bambino1andbump · 31/05/2007 13:44

Ok very naughty me! I am at this very mo pigging out on a macdonalds and it tastes soo good!I will feel very guilty later but at the mo it is heaven!!!!!

Housemum · 31/05/2007 14:43

I've given in and been shopping! Have decided to ignore what my mother would say about "tempting fate" and all that and have bought some gorgeous wool to knit a (washable!) cashmere mix stripy cardi in beige/neutral colours. Can't wait to start (it'll probably take the next 7 months to finish, given my usual speed...

Then went to Sainsbury's and DD2 wanted to go in Mothercare (she likes looking at the toys) so bought 2 tops and 2 pairs of trousers (buy-one-get-one-half-price). Smart looking, grey pinstripe trousers with a black and a dusky pink ruched top, and a pair of khaki casual trousers. Just need a bump to fit in them but they were too good to miss...

BunnyBaby · 31/05/2007 14:52

Hi ladies - sorry, I went all through the last thread and didn't see this one. So here we go again!

I'm new on here! Haven't been posting as didn't want to get caught prior to 12 week mark at work :-)

We had our 12 week scan privately last Thursday which was amazing. Does anyone else live in Greater London and has noticed the stretch on NHS services?

The local rumour is my hospital Hillingdon is so skint that it is only offering 20 week scans to women. From what I gather Ealing and Hexham Park have closed their doors to new mums so the whole world is coming to Hillingdon. Hence we had to book private scan.

Having watched Panorama, we have opted to enlist the services of an independent midwife, and all being well have a waterbirth at home (far, far away from Hillingdon). Fingers crossed pregnancy continues to progress normally!

Have also turned into a carb junkie, but so far 3lbs lighter than pre-pregnancy, but all clothes tight!

Looking forwards to getting to know everyone better between now and Christmas :-)

Housemum - I thought you meant shopping for the baby, I was thinking pinstripe trousers, wow, what a well dressed baby you're going to have!

Lizzer - I just pick out what I want from those chart things anyway ;) Hee hee!

Hi Bunnybaby!

skidaddle · 31/05/2007 15:36

bambino I would KILL for a macdonalds but have so far managed to restrain myself - I think dp would probably leave me he'd be so disgusted - am enjoying your vicariously though!!!

BornToBeAPrincess · 31/05/2007 15:39

Hi everyone, haven't posted for absolutely ages, keep forgetting I'm pregnant
I've still had no morning sickness or tiredness and not put on any weight or had cravings.
Had my first midwife app yesterday who booked me in for a scan on Tuesday because I'm not too sure of my dates.
Feeling quite sad the last few days, dd2 has started to self wean. Shes only 8 months and I wanted to keep feeding for a bit longer.
Never mind, hope everyone is well and enjoying their pregnancies

skidaddle · 31/05/2007 15:45

BtBaP - about your dd self-weaning - mine was the same at 9 months - had thought I'd bf for at least a year. On the positive side you might find you have a bit more energy now? Can start thinking about the new baby more? But it is sad I agree
