Let's all stop feeling sick and start expanding now

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Nbg · 30/05/2007 15:21

I was just having a nosy on the due in Nov thread (since I am due in nov lol)
and found this

gender chart thingy

Normally I dont believe these things but it was right for both my last 2 pregnancies and says I'm having another girl!

mimicakey · 30/05/2007 15:39

At least it's a bit easier to understand than that one Lizzer put up the other week!

I'm also having a girl according to that.

MotherofZ · 30/05/2007 15:42

Am supposed to be having a girl according to that - so we shall see. I

n two minds about asking the sonographer about the gender when I go for my 20 week scan. Has anyone else decided if they are going to find out early or not?

mimicakey · 30/05/2007 15:47

Yes, we're going to try to find out. I wouldn't have but dh finds it incredible some people wouldn't, says you can't plan anything otherwise. Now I'm really excited about it!

Nbg · 30/05/2007 15:50

We're finding out but I know dh wants a suprise.

Had we not got rid of everthing as ds has been growing, I think we would have waited.
Although I am very impatient lol.

Neuro · 30/05/2007 15:52

Afternoon ladeeez
Jinked: STOP eating mcdonalds, they are evil!!!! Sorry, won't tell you what to do.
As for is anyone dreaming about babies? Gosh yes, non stop, constant day dreams of strapping he/she on me and striding about the world saying 'look that's a volcano' or 'that's a tiger'. I think i've gone a bit mad and thinking of myself as some sort of Ninja Mum.
I feel really well today too. Busy at work which i think really helps with sickness.
Yesterday i had chocolate, crisps, big supper (a carbfest) and then i had toast before going to bed but i swear it's done wonders for waking up with MS. Didn't have any today at all. Amazing. I'm still wearing sea sickness bands and tempted to stop wearing them for a day just to check i am still pregnant!
My scan isn't til 15th June which seems aaaaages away. But it'll pass soon enough. Every day seems like a little miracle still. I am now 10 weeks and 2 days. Never thought i'd count days...silly me!
Hope you all have a good weekend, I will be back next week with more nonsense as i'm off to Scotland for 4 days.
Hope you all feel well and happy. Ta ta! xxx

Neuro · 30/05/2007 15:54

p.s. I will ask the baby's sex when the time comes but i shan't tell anyone. I think i want to have secret conversations with him/her myself, but would still like to keep everyone waiting til it pops out.

bambino1andbump · 30/05/2007 15:59

That gender chart says i'm having a boy! how very exciting! I hope its right as I would like to have aboy. Dh also wants to carry his family name on as he is the only boy!

mimicakey · 30/05/2007 16:01

Loving the name change bambino!

MotherofZ · 30/05/2007 16:02

Am tempted to ask - but I've got such a big mouth am going to find it hard not to blab it out to everyone (although hubby said if we do find out to keep it to ourselves - keep everyone else in suspense).
Maybe better not to ask..... mmmm ???

Nbg · 30/05/2007 16:03

One of the mums on the aug 06 thread I'm on, got the sonographer to write down the gender on a bit of paper, then stuck it in an envelope. So if she really wanted to know, she could look.

I dont actually think she did in the end.

Now that is will power!

bambino1andbump · 30/05/2007 16:05

That is brilliant will power. I wouldn't be able to not look. I'm too nosey!!

Just about to go cook my cottage pie so I will pop back later to see how everyone is.

mimicakey · 30/05/2007 16:07

You'll probably decide you want to know and lo will be hiding it's bits when you get the scan.

Lizzer · 30/05/2007 16:08

Waffles?Did someone mention waffles ?

Happy belated birthday's Nbg and Dundee!

Beachbunni LOL at "static sparks" from cheap clothes!

Bambino, hope your days off are going ok....

Hello to everyone else

OP posts:
Furrymummy · 30/05/2007 16:56

Hello, have finally plucked up courage to join!
I'm 10+6 today, 1st baby, had m/c in January.
Due I think on Dec 20th. Had a scan just over two weeks ago, baby fine strong heartbeat. Got dating scan for 12th June.
Have only skimmed this thread but did notice someone complaining about DP's petites getting longer - I have been getting some trousers from Matalan, they are ribbed pull ons, smart enough for work but very stretchy, 27" leg and £8 each! I've got 4 pairs in total, bought 2 last year and two last weekend! Absolutely brill! Rest of my maternity stuff I will buy on ebay - bought some stuff already for when I have a proper bump instead of my spare tyre lol!

Housemum · 30/05/2007 17:12

According to the gender chart my 2 girls should have been boys, this one should be a boy also so I'll take that to mean a girl!!!

Have not felt so nauseous today - hooray! Have even eaten some fruit - as well as a big portion of IKEA meatballs and chips!! Then felt v guilty as sneaked a couple of prawns of DD2's plate then remembered I'm not supposed to eat them unless hot - why do they keep making new rules?!

Skidaddle and Beller - just sit on the sofa and eat cakes! I'm down for Race for Life next month but am going to let DD1 run while I just walk it - I'm enjoying the excuse (not that I was a runner anyway, I've only ever walk/jogged it)

Louise - know what you mean about the trouser problem. I've seen loads of tops I like - went to H&M/Dot Perkins/New Look/Mothercare/Mamas & Papas last week and didn't see any trousers I liked - and a lot were the sort I'd need to be really big to wear now ie the ones with the big jersey panel. Have ordered some jeans from Next with the side jersey panels as they looked almost "normal" - will let you know how I get on! Someone told me to try Red Herring at Debenhams so I might go there at the weekend. According to the Mothercare catalogue they do "early term" black trousers ie not huge but when you're too big for normal - they didn't have any in our branch but they might be good if you need work stuff.

DD2 was doing some modelling this morning so am going to enjoy putting my feet up and doing nothing more strenuous than watching telly tonight after driving to and from London. I've not told DH that the total tiredness is easing off a bit - I'm enjoying his concern! (and the fact he's cooked dinner almost every night which is great cos if I smell it cooking too much I don't want to eat it)

Beanstermummy · 30/05/2007 17:19

Blimey - all quiet during the day yesterday then manic in the evening and today so far - missed loads already

Had a sh*t day today and need to sound off so apologies in advance.

Saw Doctor as was told to by MW to fill some forms in (!?) - who was rubbish at booking and seemd to want to off hire everything to the Doc - anyway, went along with high hopes.
After starting with "forms - are you a new patient then?" it went further down hill. After her asking my due date as the notes from scan (over a week ago) weren't on the system yet when I mentioned that the hospital sonographer hadn't given me confirmation of dates but at private (and costly) nuchal scan they had she sort of went oh, well we'll wait for our scan results anyway! Then babbled on (like me here really) about getting the triple blood test - when I commented I'd had that last week as part of the Nuchal scan she went so far as to say she had never heard of blood tests being done with a nuchal scan, they couldn't possibly be right as the triple test can ONLY be done at 16-18 weeks and also, she'd never seen results of or even heard of nuchal scanning being done that early as they do it at 18 weeks after the blood tests............and to top it off then proudly said she was one of the antenatal specialists at the surgery..........I left just about in tears (of frustration) and am now looking at ways to raise a few grand to go private for the whole thing - FORTH VALLEY NHS is SHIT

Feel loads better now

As for food - pot noodle, cheese and onion pasty and whole big bag of Maynards Sours for lunch?????????

Greeting to neewbies and hi to other folks - sorry to rant but needs must

Happy thoughts to you all

Housemum · 30/05/2007 18:06

Beanster - she calls herself a specialist??!! I thought the whole point of nuchal scans were that they were done at 11-14 weeks, (sometimes with blood test) so you could get the results and decide pronto whether you wanted an amnio which can be done at 16 weeks onwards - bit late if they don't do it until 18 weeks, and I thought that past 14 weeks all babies' developments were not the same so measuring the fold then could be inaccurate? Perhaps an essential part of midwife training needs to be a week spent trawling the internet and consulting Mumsnet!!

Castanet · 30/05/2007 20:17

Always thought one must have properly weird cravings while preggers, a'la ice cream with anchovies or similar, but my cravings change daily with one constant though - food, and lots of it. Currently eggs in any shape or form are manna from heaven. Scared to count how many I actually inhealed today .
Gone off red meat a bit which is surprising, potatoes are seriously in as is beetroot!?
Having a bit of a 'wet weather' period at the moment, bawling over everything and anything, cute clouds, puppy pics in METRO, dp bringing me ice cream, dp not bringing me ice cream. Officially mad. Think will go and boil some eggs.

insywinsyspider · 30/05/2007 20:18

go on MotherofZ what is it about March then?? anniversary? dh/dp'd birthday??

Beanstermummy - is there another MW you can see? the one I had last time when mine was on hols was scarely rubbish, she just wanted to talk about herself and talked over me but luckerly that was a one off, hope there is someone else you can see

gender chart says a girl! was right for last time for ds too - don't think I'll find out at scan, loved the supprise at birth last time (plus my mum is tagging along for 20 wk scan because she would love to see what they are like as she never had any so that'll stop me finding out as I would only want dh and I to know)

hello everyone else!

mad4girls · 30/05/2007 20:40

hi ladies

sorry not been on for a while but my birthday on sunday and went in to town on monday and shopping in notts yesterday, only went to go to primark, which by theway have some great 3/4 linen trousers/cullottes with a wide elasticated waistband only £6 i got 2 pairs but they come in black/white/blue and green and are better than maternity wear areso comfy and support your bump, hoping they will last the summer if i dont explode before then (my belly looks 6 mths already)

we all need to remember what our cravings are and see if they match to the sexes of our babies at the end, i am also craving fizzy drinks and salt and vinegar crisps really hit the spot.

motherofz- my aunty all had mid december due dates with her 3 ,she had boy 29th nov,boy16th dec and girl 30th dec she blames her wedding anniversary 13th of march..

me and dp are hoping to find out sex this time but when i was having dd2 she crossed her legs so couldnt find out, so same will probably happen again, knowing our luck

also does anyone know where to get big sized or maternity leggijns as tried some on in primark and the arse looked like it would fit my 7 yr old,(couldnt even get them up to my bum never mind over it )i mean i know mines not the smallest but these were extrme if anyone with a petite bum wants em 1x grey and 1x black your quite welcome size 16-18 (but only if your a stick insect0

BeachBunni · 30/05/2007 20:56

Went into town town today, dragging my poor sister around all the baby stuff. Oh I'm getting so maternal and gushy. I never thought I'd be one of these people. Was dying to buy some stuff but want to wait until after the 20 wks.

On the sex of the baby - dp wants to find out and I don't. Had a dream about a baby girl (that I lost) but think it might be a boy with all the hair sprouting up.

Dundee sorry to hear about your mum, I hope she recovers soon. My mum had heart problems about 6 years ago. She was only 43 or so. She never had a heart attack, it was a condition she was born with they never knew about, that would have turned into a heart attack if she hadn't have got to hospital pronto ( or listened to the bloody doctor who told her she'd broken a rib!!) .
It was awful - one minute we were sitting down to dinner and the next she turned blue and was in tremendous pain. She's fine now though - had heart surgery and is on constant meds for high blood pressure. I still worry about her a lot though, scarey realising the mortality of your parents.

beller · 31/05/2007 07:13

Well the chart says im having a boy...We will see! Im not sure whether to find out or not...as im on my own..its up to me!! Along with name etc.....Blimey!
