Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Welcome MotherofZ. You must be very busy (if you know what i mean) at the end of march to have two on the same due date!!
How many christmas day babys are due now?

MotherofZ · 30/05/2007 09:15

bambino1 - lol, everyone at work says the same thing!
Gosh got such a big mouth - was so excited about finding out I was pregnant I told everyone straight away - rather than waiting for the three month mark.
Anyone else done the same?

BeachBunni · 30/05/2007 09:20

Haven't been on as I've been soooo tired lately.

Hello everyone new. It's so exciting to see a feb thread.

Lizzer I love the new thread name. Bubba was sleeping when I went for my scan and wouldn't move to get a good photo either. Ones good but wanted another good one to send to my mum and dad.

Thelady - totally with you on the body hair. Mine is growing at an ungodly rate. I'm blond and last week noticed that above - yes above - my bellybutton is getting darker. The shame!

Bambino - I've been taking pregnacare tablets which have folic acid in them. It says they are used for pregnancy and breastfeeding so I don't think that small amount of folic acid will do any harm. After all, you get it naturally in food.

Thirteen weeks today . Bought my first pair of maternity trousers last week - plain black as I need them for work. Feel like a grown up now. Got mine from next mainly because I don't like the shiny quality in dotty p and it gives me static sparks.
Floaty tops - went to Primark and got two for 1.50 each.

Does anyone keep pulling muscles in their stomach? Every time I sneeze or cough I pull a muscle and it really hurts.

bambino1 · 30/05/2007 09:22

I told all the girls at work the day I found out! They all knew i was trying and were all over the moon. They have been fussing over me so its nice.

BeachBunni · 30/05/2007 09:22

Mother - I told everyone after about three weeks. Used to be a big party animal and not a weekend would go by without a glass of wine in my hand so everyone was starting to twig.

skidaddle · 30/05/2007 10:19

Hi motherofZ - yes was thinking the same - must be your birthday at the end of March or something!! My mum's birthday is 13th march and both me and my brother are December babies!

Bambino - read the other day that it is fine to take preg supplements all through your pregnancy - you don;t need folic acid anymore but it won;t do you any harm

beachbunni - yes I keep pulling muscles in my stomach too, very annoying.

speaking of stomach muscles does anyone know if we have to stop doing sit ups/weights at 12 weeks or can we carry on until 4 months? I have conflicting sources of info and want to believe the four month one!

MotherofZ · 30/05/2007 10:31

actually my birthday is in September...don't know what it is about March......

skidaddle · 30/05/2007 10:32

it's probably the spring air, baby lambs bounding around, what's a girl to do but procreate?

MotherofZ · 30/05/2007 10:35

LOL @skiaddle.
Had a girl last time around, so hubby reckons it is going to be another girl given the same due dates etc..

BeachBunni · 30/05/2007 10:47

Skiddale you are game doing situps and weights. Not too sure but at my booking in appointment last week was told no longer do high impact or weights. Not an issue with me though!

peanutbutter · 30/05/2007 11:20

Another one here with lovely strong nails with white tips and my skin's finally clearing up a bit i think after some quite stonking zits. I'm still only longing for junk food - cheese on toast, cheese sandwiches, cheese on crackers, cheese and onion crisps (can you spot a theme?). Practically anything else seems revolting.

My belly's popping out too and my chesticles (as dh calls them) are definitely less sore at long long last.

bambino1 · 30/05/2007 11:26

Gave into the kit kat urge at 10.05am! Really bad I know but fil came over with a massive pack for us so they are just sitting there going 'eat me!!'
its pouring with rain yet again!! my towels are on the line and i dont have energy to go get them in and get drenched at the same time!
Promised i'd take dd out for lunch but realy don't want to. feeling rubbish today yet again, although i have strong urge to make a cottage pie for dinner! I keep thinking i'm going mad, then I remember i'm pregnant!

bambino1 · 30/05/2007 11:27

Sorry about the waffeling on.

skidaddle · 30/05/2007 12:31

bambino - all we do on this thread is waffle surely? Without waffle there would be no thread! So no apologies please

Have also just eaten a kitkat so don't feel guilty - anyway haven't they discovered that chocolate is good for you when pg

dundeemarmalade · 30/05/2007 13:05

hello everyone.
been a bit busy at marmalade towers - was 30 on saturday, father in law had party on sunday, and then my mum had a heart-attack on monday night. aaaaaaagh. she's okay, i think, but i live on the other side of the country and am only just feeling like tootling about anywhere, let alone hurtling to her bedside. dh and i are going over later this week. this is slightly off topic, but does anybody have any experience of dealing with this kind of situation? she's only 59, which is really scary and i'm not sure if there's anything i should definitely do or not do.
and now 11+1, and feeling less consistently nauseous, though had a few very near misses this morning - think it's the tiredness/stress. It's all a bit much to deal with, really.

Re. trousers, I invested in some belly/bump bands, one from a posh and expensive on-line catalogue at £18, and on from Top Shop at £5 - they are both fab, though spenny one is probably better quality, and i reckon i'm going to get several more weeks wear out of my regular trousers/jeans with them - they flatten out the undone zips/buttons and hold the trousers up pretty well. lovely and comfy too, i think.

Ambi · 30/05/2007 13:09

Figured out how to put the scan photo on my profile.

beller · 30/05/2007 13:29

Im a newbie!
9 weeks tomorrow, still not sure whether that makes me late dec or early jan, but will know more after docs appt monday. I had a scan at 7+2, so im pretty sure on dates?
Pretty scared about the whole thing, as boyfriend has done a runner...so on my own! Well apart from friends and family..and sisters have ben great.
I have very sore boobs, but no other syptoms, lucky enought not to have ms...YET!
Beach bunni- im the same as you ..party girl, and also have to do alot of entertaining for my job (broker), so finding it really hard keeping it quiet, but just avoiding taking clients out at mom, til after 12 weeks!
Hello everyone..and look forward to sharing our bump journeys! xx

Ambi · 30/05/2007 13:37

Happy 15th (twice) dundee... When I turn 30, I want 2 cakes with 15th on them!!

I've started buying mat clothes on ebay, (don't normally buy clothes from ebay, but cannot bear spending some of the prices for mat clothes!!) am after some bump bands (but won't pay £20 for a bit of jersey/strech fabric!!) but don't have a top shop nearby, unless I actually venture to the trafford centre which is stress inducing in itself!! God I hate shopping!! Strange for a girl i know.

Ok so who was it who's letting the side down eating healthy food. My excuse is "well I won't be in a bikini this year so..[stuffs face with crap]" & "the baby needs a cushion"

You lucky thing bambino, being forced to stay at home....tempted to take mat leave at earliest opportunity.. fed up of being here.

Ambi · 30/05/2007 13:49

How rude of me, hiya new joiners, beller, motherofz, neuro & castanet.

Wilkommen to our batty thread, it's much better than those nov and jan girlies (watch me be late/early now)

beller · 30/05/2007 13:50

what about exercise? I unkowingly ran the London Marathon pregnant!! And carried on running after until i found out....Have taken to cycling now for the time being?

MotherofZ · 30/05/2007 13:57

Thanks Ambi
Am having a hungry day today too
Stuffed my face with diary doughnut, cheese and onion pasty and a tuna sandwich from Greggs..still feel like I have a little space left, lol

beller · 30/05/2007 14:02

thanks Ambi...hi!

mimicakey · 30/05/2007 14:50

Hey everyone!

Beller - mw said last week that I'd be fine doing spinning, so cycling must be ok too. She just said lots of fluid and maybe don't go at it as hard as you normally would (I surpressed a laugh at that point because I only go about once a month and take it pretty easy anyway!)

Jealous of all you peeps getting scans, I only get one and that's at 20 weeks! Such a long time to wait.

Anyone else started having dreams about babies yet?!

beller · 30/05/2007 15:08

thats when i thought i was pregnant mickey...my mum died when i was 21..and i kept having a recurring dream of her handing me a baby!

mimicakey · 30/05/2007 15:11

Spooky! My friend is having a nightmare with placenta praevia at the mo so I think that's why I dreamt last night mine came out and was the size of the palm of my hand. No one seemed worried about it tho!
