@RhiBee29 i have an anterior placenta too and was told i probably wouldn't feel much until 24 weeks onward but I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and have been feeling movement since 20 weeks (lighter flutters since about 16 weeks). This week however is where baby has been really making herself heard, mostly around 6am and 5pm onwards. If i gently push on my tummy i can feel her push back. its amazing, im wating now for her little kicks to be strong enough for Hubby to feel

Smithguy86 · 23/05/2018 16:45

Hi all just looking to join the October band wagon!

I'm 18 week pregnant with twins! We had a private scan 2 week ago and found out we are having a boy and a girl! This I my first pregnancy and I have to say I'm not enjoying it much lol suffered really badly with morning sickness resulting in 6 weeks off work an 2 hospital stays, but feeling a lot better now still nauseous but bareable!

We have our 20 week scan on the 6th of June. They have given me a due date of the 22nd of Oct but as it's twins said they won't let me go past the 8th of Oct so half way there now!

Doll87 · 23/05/2018 20:33

@Smithguy86 oh wow that's so amazing! A boy and a girl ❤️💙 how exciting!!!

RhiBee29 · 24/05/2018 06:44

Thanks @Doll87 I think I'm feeling flutters but doubted myself. Hopefully it'll get stronger soon, I'm 17+4.

@wednesday93 the wait is torture!

@Smithguy86 welcome and congratulations, I think you're the first here with twins.

wednesday93 · 24/05/2018 07:37

@RhiBee29 it definitely is! Feels like I've been waiting forever, just too excited to find out what I'm having

twobambinos · 24/05/2018 10:03

Welcome @smithguy86 how exciting for you. One of each will be lovely.

The wait is torture alright. But it flys when you are in there so enjoy every minute. And then the wait for the next milestone/appointment starts all over again.

I splashed out on two dresses from h and m this morning online. I was stalking to see would the one I wanted come back into stock and it did. Hopefully it will fit nicely now and will do for the holidays and any more nice days we get.

And its nearly the weekend yippee.

mintich · 24/05/2018 10:14

20 week scan today!! Eeek! Right at the end of the day too and I'm the most impatient person ever

ShuffleHopStepFlapStep · 24/05/2018 11:28

Hi all, can I join in?

Am 20+6, due Oct 5th.
I have a 7yr old dd already. Since she arrived, I've had several mmcs and then nearly 3 yrs of just not conceiving. So, I've kept this one as quiet as possible for as long as possible but this last week or so the bump has definitely appeared so I had to tell more people than I thought I would before my 20wk scan (which I was aiming for - rather optimistically!). Anyway, scan was on Tuesday and everything was fine :-) We didn't find out the sex.

I feels a bit weird and 'new' still having kept in under wraps for so long. The reality of going to the loo 1000 times a day and feeling some good kicks now is helping though!

Hotchocolate86 · 24/05/2018 12:06

Congratulations on all the good scans. We had ours the other day and all is looking good with the baby. I am still feeling horribly sick but I’ve used up all my sick pay at work and can’t reallu afford to move to statutory sick pay. I think I’m going to have to take maternity leave as early as possible this time. Is anyone else doing that?

boringbetty · 24/05/2018 20:19

Hi all not been on here for a while but I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow and I'm so excited . 9.30 so hopefully the first ones .
Can anyone tell me if you have to see the midwife after the scan or is it just the scan and then go? I can't remember from last time.
DP has booked the day off so we can do baby shopping so hoping I'll be in and out

Belles86 · 24/05/2018 22:13

@boringbetty had ours on Monday and it was scan n go! Probably in there 30 mins including waiting for 10. Our appt was at 9am. Happy scan to you and others with them coming up! 👍

Doll87 · 25/05/2018 08:34

Has anyone had any cravings? I keep getting asked what cravings I've had but I can't really say I've had any moments where I've felt an overwhelming need for anything in particular. I just have a fancy for any type of sweet or chocolate on a daily basis but I think that's more a loss of self control thing lol!

2ndPGchimp · 25/05/2018 08:40

@Hotchocolate86 I am sorry you are still feeling so rubbish. That sounds quite stressful about the holiday/ sick pay/ Mat leave question. I haven't had to grapple with that. I assume you have been to the gp to see if there is anything they can give you to help? Might your employer be flexible over the next month or so to let you work reduced hours temporarily? I know that might affect maternity pay, but at least you wouldn't lose as much time with the baby and you might find it gets better and you can go back up to full hours again?

twobambinos · 25/05/2018 08:54

Morning vomiting again this morning after weeks off. Maybe I Just ate too much yesterday? I hope it's not the dreaded return of the 3rd trimester morning sickness early Grin I remember reading about that in my first pregnancy and thinking it sounded grim only the chance for it to return would have turned into a fine thing as it never went away.

@boringbetty goodluck with your scan and enjoy your shopping with dh so exciting.

@mintich hope your scan went well.

Welcome @shuffle we kept quiet to everyone until 15 weeks and even now it's only filtering out as and when it crops up. I think my bump is playing catch up now tho and ready to bloom.

@hotchocolate86 sorry to hear you are still feeling unwell its awful isn't it. I finished up 5 weeks before due date on both of mine. I couldn't stick it at the end. And it only got worse when I got spd. Have you any annual leave you could add on before you go on mat leave? For alot of people 20 weeks they start to see an improvement hopefully you will too. Try get as much rest as and when you can most things you will find really can wait for when you are feeling better.

AlwaysPondering · 25/05/2018 09:20

Morning everyone, can I join? I'm due 9th October.

I will have a proper read of the full thread later and get familiar with all you other pregnant ladies!

This is my third DC. When I had my first scan it turned out I was 16wks and not 13wks and we found out we're having a boy! We have two girls. We're all very excited!

Since then I have been a bit of a mess though...

At the start of the month I began to leak. Usually in the night, but sometimes before bed or when I wake. It is always a big gush and honestly looks like I've wet myself! I haven't.

The first time it happened I got checked over that day and actually ended up being admitted because I had a funny turn whilst there and it seems I had developed a bacterial infection (although undiagnosed) and put on IV antibiotics for a couple of days. I leaked one night whilst there as well and even the midwife was concerned it was my waters. I've had speculums to ensure it isn't my waters and scans to check the fluid level around baby which all came back fine thankfully. It was put down to watery discharge and I was told not to worry anymore unless it changes colour or smells foul.

I was just starting to accept that I must have watery discharge and not freak out every time it happens but then things changed this Tuesday. I'd done a hilly walk which caused some lower abdominal pain which faded but can back again later in the evening. Not very painful, more uncomfortable. Then I felt myself leak and went to check it as I always do and it was pink! I also had some thick beige and pink discharge every time I wiped which I thought was my plug. I really thought I was going to go into labour Sad I went to the hospital and they did a speculum. The cervix appeared closed from what she could see (my cervix dips back and she found it difficult to properly see) but she did say I have some harmless cells around my cervix which can cause bleeding if aggravated. I can't remember the names of the cells and annoyingly she didn't mention those in my notes so I can't read up about it.

So I went home. The thick pink discharge slowly stopped and I seemed back to normal. In the night however I woke and leaked again and it covered my pad in pink fluid. I freaked out but managed to calm down and get some sleep. I guess I'm telling myself if it's not bright red and I'm not cramping then I should try and relax. I just wish I had a proper explanation on what is it. I never had any of this with the girls so this is really new to me and it almost makes it worse that I have their easy non-scary pregnancies to compare this one to.

To make things worse I still don't feel him much but I wish I did because that would at least provide a little reassurance!

I'm so sorry for the long post -pity party- I just feel a bit fed up of this happening and not properly knowing what it is!

I feel like there are some pregnancy symptoms that can be completely harmless but that could equally be something concerning!

On a positive note I have my scan on Tuesday. My friends is babysitting so DP can come along which I'm so grateful for as we don't have any other help so I was prearing to go alone. 4 days seems so far away though!

Thanks if you read all of this Smile

AlwaysPondering · 25/05/2018 09:21

Gosh that was so long, I'm so sorry!

justtowarm · 25/05/2018 17:57

@AlwaysPondering sorry your having a tough time, I'm pregnant with my second I'm 20 weeks (it's a girl).

From 14 weeks until last weekend I have had bleeding (dripping out and huge clots) almost everyday and spotting on the odd day I didn't bleed. They came up with all sorts of theories on what it could be. The bleeding stopped on Tuesday and I haven't had any since. They scan showed everything was ok and they can't explain the bleeding. Hopefully this strange watery pink discharge will stop for you the same. I have heard of others where there has been unexplained discharge/bleeding/spotting and it all being fine. You have my sympathies It's just so worrying when it's happening, every toilet trip, twinge, cramp, strange sensation is so stressful.

They told me to do nothing other than rest while I was bleeding, i have no idea if it helped but it did seem less while I was just sitting around.

The cells they mentioned to you might be cervical erosion where some of the inside cells of the cervix are visible, I have this a little bit as well and it can cause mild bleeding/spotting (although they did not think it could cause bleeding to the extent I had).

I would keep contacting your midwife/GP if you are worried. You know your body best, and if it doesn't feel seem right to you tell them :) I got an at home Doppler which did reassure me until I was feeling movement regularly.

Hope things get better for you soon x

justtowarm · 25/05/2018 17:58

And to everyone having scans good luck!!

To all those who have shared positive scan news it's so lovely to hear congratulations!

boringbetty · 25/05/2018 20:40

We had a lovely scan found out we are having another boy. Managed to get some baby grows in the boots sale. Got myself some new maternity bras and a nighty . And ordered my pram Grin feeling very excited now

unicornchaser · 25/05/2018 21:05

Hi all, been hiding for a few weeks as no new developments!
Sorry to hear a lot of you are having a rough time of it at the moment, hope everything clears up soon and it gets a bit more enjoyable!
Welcome to all the newbies to the thread!

I'm now 17+3 and just had a private gender scan. Bringing the boy tally up another as it looks to be a baby boy! Step son is thrilled with a brother!!! Felt him kicking when she was pressing down during the scan, saw the little legs booting me at the same time too! Wee kicker in there!

20 week scan on 12th June so hopefully that one doesn't change the gender prediction any!!! Shock

caoraich · 25/05/2018 21:34

How exciting @unicornchaser ! Amazing to see the wee legs kicking!

My 20 week scan is on Thursday. Fingers and toes crossed all is OK as we're off on holiday on Saturday. Just signed up to a pregnancy yoga class. I've never done any yoga before, eeeek

AlwaysPondering · 26/05/2018 14:11

Thanks for your understanding justtowarm. Your bleeding sounds terrifying, I'm really glad that's settled now. Hopefully it's smooth sailing now!

After a little research I did wonder if it was cervical erosion as well. Seems to match with what the doc was saying.

I'm considering a doppler myself although I'm worried I'll become a little addicted!

Thanks again for your response Smile

It's so wonderful to hear about everyones scans! Tuesday can't come soon enough for mine!

Penguina · 26/05/2018 20:12

@alwayspondering that sounds awful! So sorry you’re going through it.

Anyone else feel really lightheaded randomly? I hate it and feel really out of control!

Also does anyone have any good reviews of good off roaming side by side buggies that fold well? Desperately trying to sell my bugaboo in order to get one !

AlwaysPondering · 26/05/2018 22:20

Thank you Penguina and yes I have had moments of lightheadedness. Forcing myself to be slower and to eat and drink regularly helps. I think it's quite a common symptom of pregnancy.

No advice on the buggy though I'm afraid!

justtowarm · 26/05/2018 23:15

@Penguina my friend with twins swears by her out and about nipper, she tried all sorts of things before it. I think it goes flat for newborn stage.
