I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

@milknosugar1 I am also going to a festival this weekend! We actually have a yurt though with a mattress so maximum glamping. I think I will be achey after the five hour drive though, have planned in two rest stops!

@caoraich no nct in our area, oddly, so have signed up for a similar private antenatal course. Friends did it and said content so so except it includes infant first aid which is good, and yes the aim is to make some local friends! The hospital also do ante natal classes which I've heard are much better in terms of info about birth/feeding. I am now also tempted by hypnobirthing classes as I've got into the book and CDs and think it would be great if my husband was involved, but will have to see how much / when they are...

Belles86 · 22/05/2018 14:27

@Milknosugar1 thanks v much!

@EffRam festival yurt sounds like a dream!

wednesday93 · 22/05/2018 14:27

Where is everybody getting their prams from? I'm struggling to find one I like which is not too expensive.

Doll87 · 22/05/2018 18:53

We bought ours from the centre in Bournemouth. They did us a discount as we bought the buggy and car seat/system all together. We ended up going for the babystyle egg, pick it up in August. I'm so excited lol, how my life has changed ❤️❤️

justtowarm · 22/05/2018 18:58

Thanks @Milknosugar1 starting to feel a bit nervous, which is probably silly because everything seems to be settling. I don't like to say it because I've got my hopes up before but today has been the first day with no bleeding or spotting at all (well so far) and baby is moving loads so I'm feeling reassured and nervous that I'm getting my hopes up to be told bad news tomorrow.

@wednesday93 I have bought a second hand bugaboo buffalo. It's like new apart a couple of very small scuffs on the frame and I would probs have caused them in a couple of weeks if I had bought new. I need something that is good on moorland/beach/woodland to continue enjoying walks with my son and there is no way I would pay the full price for these pushchairs even though they are really good (because I would never keep them perfect). This one cost me about a third of the price and will suit me just fine :) I'm really pleased with it. I have got a new mattress for the carrycot and will get a new car seat :) I got this one on eBay but there are loads of selling sites for second hand prams. I would look in mother care test them out and then look at second hand as there are loads that are like new for a fraction of the price :)

oh boy im in a bad mood today.

@justtowarm no bleeding is good fingers crossed it stays that way for you.
@wednesday93 im getting mine from mothercare. its not cheap though. they are crazy prices depending on what you want. more expensive than some cars.

festival ladies enjoy yerselves. hopefully the good weather sticks around for it.

we have holidays in about 8 weeks so im counting down to that. fingers crossed the pregnancy is still going smoothly by then as ill be gone the 28 weeks and need a fit to fly letter.

twobambinos · 22/05/2018 20:16

i really need to buy some maternity clothes im so bored of the same few bits that still fit me from normal range but i just cant see anything i like.

one dress from h and m but they didnt have my size.
have bought a good lot of clothing for the baby though.

has anyone settled on names yet?

Hayleyxmx · 22/05/2018 20:26

@twobambinos have you checked ASOS and new look have some really nice bits aswell. The only thing I’m struggling with is clothes for parties I have coming up everything is aimed at women in there 50s or too casual.

As for name me and DP are all sorted have been since about week 4, so luckily I know that can be one of the stressful things to decide 🙂

Thanks @Hayleyxmx and @milknosugar1

i have scoured online nothing locally available and i just cant see anything i like. it all screams frump/needs a sizeable bump. only one person i work with knows too so i dont want anything fitted although i think i may just tell them all in the next couple of weeks. i only work part time so im not having to have loads of working clothes.

It is annoying coz i have so much fab clothes for non pregnant days.
Hayley we had a few ocassions too i just got a skater dress in my usual size for one of them and a bardot dress with a skater skirt for the other. they were both fine but not maternity wear and wont get much more wear out of them but sometimes just sizing up can be ok depending on the style and your body shape.

Great to have the name sorted. we had early on on our two dds but not this time. we just cant get our act together . i know we still have a while to go but i like to be organised.

justtowarm · 23/05/2018 05:34

@Milknosugar1 thank you, I am very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world.

@twobambinos I hope your day and mood are for you today.

I have also found Mat clothes frumpy or for bigger bumps. I've really struggled finding jeans that don't have really baggy legs. I got some next black skinny maternity jeans and they look like boot cut with a saggy knee (I will not be ordering online again 🙈) in the end I just got jeggings (I hate that word) and the elasticated waist seems to be doing the job for now :) maternity tops also seemed grumpy so I have just been going with floaty loose tops :)

mintich · 23/05/2018 08:17

@caoraich I did nct with my 1st. The classes were really good and more like a discussion. I also met the best group of women who I see every week

River93 · 23/05/2018 08:25

Due 31st October here Shock Halloween baby! Although I’m sure will be a November baby

Cluelessss · 23/05/2018 08:37

Hello ladies, I really hope you are all doing well! Baby boy seems to be kicking in more of a routine now, mornings and and about 6:30 evenings.. my OH finally was around yesterday when baby was kicking and felt him. 20 week scan next Thursday, feeling very excited! Let’s hope he’s still a boy as we have bought a lot of baby boy clothes!

@twobambinos we have already got our name, Frederick but Freddy for short

As for maternity wear, I am living in Zara’s midi bodycon dresses.. I think they are only £10 but I size up so they aren’t too tight on the bump and I also have a few of there smock dresses! I’m 22, and I find that Zara has easily the best summer wear clothes and fashionable at the same time

Filzma · 23/05/2018 09:03

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. The scan went well, baby is healthy as far as they could tell. We're having another girl 💕💕🎉🎉

All the best with the upcoming scans!!

twobambinos · 23/05/2018 10:21

@river93 welcome and no body knows what will happen later in pregnancy could be early late or on time.
My two have been late. I'm hoping this one at least arrives on time Grin

@cluelessss can you link to the dresses? I couldn't see them. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I really need to get some bras today at the very least im being sawed in half.

Well done @filzma two girls is lovely.

@justtowarm thanks the mood is a bit better today. I'm been doing a bit of tidying some stuff that has been waiting to be sorted since end of January when the morning sickness kicked In.
Going to get out for some fresh sunny air later too. Have a nice day everybody

Hayleyxmx · 23/05/2018 11:04

Thanks @twobambinos for the skater dress tip 🙌🏻

Just been and got my Emma’s diary bump to baby pack (still trying to get the mum to be) from boots had a full pack of newborn premium pampers nappies definitely worth registering and printing off the vouchers.

So lovely to hear everyone’s 20 week scans going well we are officially half way ladies 😍

Cluelessss · 23/05/2018 11:57

Here you go @twobambinos
m.zara.com/uk/en/basic-sleeveless-dress-p05644319.html?v1=6180504&v2=1032503 They’re really supporting and a nice quality material, so they hold there shape and are not see through. Good with a kimono or denim jacket :-)

ladydolly · 23/05/2018 12:33

I didn't do NCT last time as I had loads of mum friends who were also off but this time I don't, maybe I should do the 2nd time parent thing.

For officewear last time I work non maternity lycra skirts pulled up over my bump and then maternity tops or my normal shirts undone at the belly. This time they're more relaxed so jeans and tops are fine.

We had our name at 12 weeks with DD but struggled this time, one on my list has made it as far as 'don't hate it' with DP but that's about it.

justtowarm · 23/05/2018 15:16

Just letting you all know, had the 20 week scan everything with the baby and placenta looks perfect, they don’t know why I was bleeding so much or for so long (bleeding seems to be stopping/stopped for now) and.......... it’s a girl!

Feeling excited now :)

RhiBee29 · 23/05/2018 15:43

Congratulations @justtowarm great news you must be very relieved!

Anyone else still waiting on 20wk scan? Mines not until 7th June.

At my private scan the sonographer said I have an anterior placenta... does this mean I won't feel movement until later or just that DH won't feel kicks externally for a while yet?

twobambinos · 23/05/2018 15:55

that's fantastic news @justtowarm

Sorry @rhibee29 no idea about the placenta.

Thank you @cluelessss for the link

wednesday93 · 23/05/2018 16:08

Still waiting for my 20 week scan, it's on 8th June! Feeling very anxious.
