I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

Is anyone totally exhausted at the moment? I went pram shopping yesterday then had friends round for a bbq. Really suffering today, so tired it's unreal! Feel like everything I do is just exhausting me now.

We did decide on our pram though, we are going for the Milano Mee-go, anyone else chose this one?

Hayleyxmx · 27/05/2018 16:26

@unicornchaser I know how you feel I had two really busy days and yesterday I was so exhausted I felt almost like I had a bad hangover 🙈. As for pram iv actually never heard of that pram before, Where did you see it? I was set on the silver cross wave but I couldn’t pick it when I went to John Lewis so now it’s betweem the UPPAbaby vista2018 or the bugaboo donkey but still unsure 🙂

unicornchaser · 27/05/2018 16:57

We found it in the Pram Centre (not sure if that is a chain store or just here in Glasgow) apparently it is a fairly new model which was brought out to compete against the Venicci, which is what we thought we were dead set on!
The suspension and the fact it's lightweight are the real sellers for me, I have a very active dog so will be spending a lot of time walking parks and woodland paths so need something robust!

It is a headache though when your stuck between a couple! The place we went had so many options out so we could test them all which made it easier!

Hayleyxmx · 27/05/2018 18:06

@unicornchaser no I don’t think I have a pram centre by me. Sounds like that pram ticks all your boxes though Parma are so hard because everyone recommends theirs put we all have different wants and needs. At least I have another 19 weeks to decide x

caoraich · 29/05/2018 09:38

@unicornchaser how did you find the pram centre? Were they helpful? We're planning to go when we get back from hols in a couple of weeks. A friend went yesterday though and said it was mobbed! Hopefully just bank holiday Monday madness...

Anyone else struggling in this heat? I was on call yesterday and it was torture going about in smart work clothes. Off to Greece on Saturday.... I usually love a really hot holiday but think I might not love it this time!!

unicornchaser · 29/05/2018 10:29

Pram centre was great @caoraich, we went early doors on Saturday so wasn't too bad, think there was half a dozen other couples in.
All the pranks are out on the store floor so free to test them all. Was a bit difficult to find someone to help us as they were gabbing at the back but came as soon as we asked for help and were very helpful, taking the pram apart and hoeing is how to change it and fold it down etc.
Would definitely recommend going along even if it's just to let you see various options to narrow down your search Smile

Good luck on the holiday, I have tenerife booked for July which after this freak heatwave we have been having is making me think I won't cope very well with the heat!

At least there will be pools & beaches to help keep you cool on holiday!

@Milknosugar1 ahh put your feet up have a cup of tea, sounds like you have had quite a stressful morning. Did they not have someone with the student midwife? In my area they never have them alone. it’s crazy that each area has different rules every mid wife appointment I have had they get the doppler out and have a listen. And those little hiccups I had them a few weeks ago now Im getting little kicks and somersaults I’m 20+1 today so they kicks must be on the way for you 🙂

Hi all,

Just an update in case anyone is looking for clothes and doesn't want to spend a ton...I've also made it my mission to buy stuff I can wear now and after...(apart from 2 x jeans and 1x shorts where I've caved and bought maternity wear)

I'm sure it's been said before but Primark long line t-shirts are basically a short sleeved long t shirt (enough to cover your butt and neck line flattering for those of us with JUGS) and go well with leggings and are £3.50-£5.00, this will be my work wear for the summer months (we can be casual). I went up a size, was a good 12-14 before and now a 16 is comfortable (with a bit of room).

Also can recommend their maxi skirts for under bump (bought same size as I was before). Am going on hols in 10 days and plan on vests, maxi skirts and good maternity shorts for the majority. Also into stuff like this for beach and evening..

over and out

pps had first stranger ask when the baby is due, felt like freaking her out and saying 'what do you mean?' but totally pussied out LOL

Filzma · 29/05/2018 14:55

Hey everyone,

I've been having .... hmmm... it's going to sound weird... electric shock or like a sudden jolt when I turn or move suddenly. It's just above my belly button but to the right.
Been happening for about 3 weeks now but seems to happen 3-4times a day now.

It's like I'm tugging at something but from the inside. Sharp and sudden.

Anyone familiar with this?

twobambinos · 29/05/2018 16:32

@penguina we had the nipper double for when my 2nd dd was born. It is suitable from newborn easy to push wouldn't feel the weight of the kids inside it but it does not fold up small. We had a massive boot at the time.

@unicornchaser your pram looks lovely congratulations on your purchase. We also have holidays booked for July. It will be something nice to look forward to. Having a major energy slump today though in the heat.

I was in the shops earlier so picked up a few bits for the hospital bag. Grin it is kind of early but I figure I'll need them anyway and need to be productive with my shopping time don't want a big list to get in one trip.

OMG a Feb bus we are proper experienced now. I'm enjoying saying I'm 5 months

@milknosugar1 I got a night dress to labour in and some big huge pants for afterwards. I also got some baby vests and baby gros.

Ceebs85 · 29/05/2018 20:55

@Filzma

I get those but lower down. Google 'round ligament pain' x

justtowarm · 29/05/2018 21:10

@caoraich the heat is killing me today! I'm attempting to potty train my two and half year old before the baby comes or I'm to pregnant to help him.... I feel like I'm melting and smell of wee (nice combo) I can't wait to be at work for a break! Why am I doing this again 😂

justtowarm · 29/05/2018 21:13

@Filzma I also got similar pains lower down which I'm pretty sure was round ligament pains, they seem to have stopped for now :)

EffRam · 29/05/2018 21:23

@filzma I get exactly what you're describing, I had assumed it was round ligament pain too!

@milknosugar1 sorry you're feeling a bit fed up. No Doppler at my 16 week appointment either! Presume it can't be long until your scan now at least? And the midwife said to me they'll listen at all appointments from now on. I was a bit gutted too. Although a student midwife struggling to find the heartbeat might not have been the most reassuring...!

After a busy weekend at a festival I've been back to working from home today and have felt a few twitches, flutters and just odd sensations that I am hoping are baby. Really want them to get more regular for reassurance! Also had my whooping cough vaccine today, had to go out in the peak of the storm and torrential rain!!

unicornchaser · 30/05/2018 10:04

@EffRam you have just reminded me about the whooping cough vaccine! When is it we are supposed to get that?
Having had whooping cough 5 years ago, I think it is probably wise I do get it!

EffRam · 30/05/2018 10:08

@unicornchaser it's any time from 16 weeks, my midwife said just to book myself in with the nurse! You poor thing can't imagine that was pleasant!

The jab itself was so painless I didn't realise she had done it, but last night my arm was so achey I woke when I rolled on it!

Hayleyxmx · 30/05/2018 10:35

@unicornchaser I had mine yesterday has to be between 16-32weeks to be most effective 🙂 @effram my arm is exactly the same it’s really bruised today aswell, yesterday about an hour after the jab I was so nauseous for about 4 hours. Definitely take the minor side effects though over whooping cough 🙌🏻

wednesday93 · 30/05/2018 10:37

I have my 20 week scan next week, would I be able to get the whooping cough jab then?

EffRam · 30/05/2018 10:39

@hayleyxmx deffo! It's not a live vaccine so side effects v v minimal, it can't make you poorly like the chicken pox one for example. Sore arm small price to pay for keeping the baby safe!

It was just unfortunate timing as the dog is unwell at the mo so wouldn't settle then I had to keep getting up to let him out last night and my husband got in from work at 4(!!!) and woke me up AGAIN so it contributes to a bad night's sleep. Any other night I don't think it would have been an issue!

EffRam · 30/05/2018 10:40

@wednesday93 my jab was with the nurse at the GP, my scans are at hospital so can't imagine it would happen together but would depend on your set up?

wednesday93 · 30/05/2018 10:45

@EffRam thank you, will check when I have my scan!

Hayleyxmx · 30/05/2018 10:48

@wednesday93 I have my 20 week scan tomorrow and asked if I could have them together but it’s like @wednesday93 said, I had to book an appointment with the nurse at my GP surgery 🙂
