I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

I didn't get a high chair until 5 months and dd could sit up by then, we just didn't need it before weaning. We never had a bumbo either, she just lay in the floor or bouncer.

RhiBee29 · 19/05/2018 17:54

Had a private scan today, took DS, he is thrilled! Baby is very active, heartbeat 145bpm and the sonographer let us record it on our phone. I have an anterior placenta so may take longer for movement to be felt.

Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather x

At just 20 weeks I feel like I'm well into the 3rd trimester. The pressure on my bladder/pelvis is quite uncomfortable. Pelvic pain and slight back pain, waddling started proper, and lifting my legs to enter the bathtub/ wear anything is no fun.
The heartburn has begun proper.
It's too early to be complaining this much. 😔😩
On a slightly positive note, looking forward to my scan soon.

Belles86 · 20/05/2018 15:41

@Filzma if it’s any consolation I’m 20+3 and feel EXACTLY the same. Scan tomorrow am though so v excited. When’s your scan?

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 20/05/2018 17:46

Anyone else just not feel pregnant? all my early symptoms have gone and I don't have much of a bump yet or any movements. I keep forgetting I'm even pregnant!

Filzma · 20/05/2018 18:24

@Belles86 lol glad to hear I'm not the only one. Mines on Tuesday 🙏

@BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy your first? That was me first time round.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 20/05/2018 18:27

Yes @Filzma - I'm 18 weeks and in some sort of pregnancy limbo.

RhiBee29 · 20/05/2018 20:16

@BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy yep, although starting to get more bump now, I'm 17wks today and it's my second.

ATP1000 · 20/05/2018 20:58

I am so grateful to be past the nausea stage at last! It’s been a week now so I’m taking that as gone :) headaches are also not as bad. I don’t feel pregnant exactly, I just feel huge! I’ve put on 8kg and it’s gone everywhere. All these maternity websites saying buy your pre pregnancy size doesn’t work for me at all! Even my arms are bigger 🙈
I’m enjoying having a more prominent bump though, in the right clothes I definitely look pregnant!
Good luck to everyone with 20 week scabs this week! I’m in a fortnight

Plonking myself down! Might actually remember to post in here now rather than disappearing for ages 🙈

EffRam · 20/05/2018 22:10

Sorry for delay everyone... The excellent bootie knitting pattern is here www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/christines-stay-on-baby-booties

The lace means you can really seal them round the ankle! Grin

I got some maternity shorts today from new look and they're great! Have been struggling with having only jeans or one dress to wear. Branching out now!

I had a really weird sensation on Friday night, like I was a washing machine and baby swooshing around inside...I assume some sort of tumble turn!

Tomorrow I'm seeing a friend who is back visiting as she moved to Australia last summer so I haven't seen her since and I haven't told her yet so it will be a real test of whether the bump looks like a baby or too many doughnuts...

Anban · 21/05/2018 04:18

Hey all,

Been awol for a bit as nothing was really happening. I'm 17 weeks today and the past few days been feeling a pressure in my lower abdomen, like little squish is have a growth spurt and squashing my inners. Feels a mix of bloating gas and a full bladder without needing to pee. Anyone else? I am pretty convinced it's perfectly normal but as it's my first I never really know! Its keeping my awake tonight. Every time I turn over Squishy complains if I do it quickly (like I normally would- I practically throw myself over!) and I feel the need to hold my tiny belly. Hoping that this is going to result in a belly pop. So far my bump is mostly chub that squish has pushed out!

So lovely to hear about peoples 20 week scans! I still have a little bit of a wait, but looking forward to knowing the sex!

Hayleyxmx · 21/05/2018 08:40

Anyone started shopping for maternity I have just got a whole new wardrobe from ASOS.

justtowarm · 21/05/2018 09:01

Good luck today @Belles86 and tomorrow @Filzma.

My scan is Wednesday and I can't wait! We are taking my mum and my 2year old with us. All being well my mum is going to bring him in at the end (it says in my appointment Letter that it's ok. I was surprised as last time it said one person with you only). It's my mums birthday on Wednesday and we are taking her for a meal afterwards so I hope everything is ok!

Belles86 · 21/05/2018 10:02

@justtowarm thanks v much! We are having a girl! Was v excited either away. Hope everyone’s doing ok! Xx

justtowarm · 21/05/2018 15:46

Thank you! Hope yours is lovely and you have a nice meal on weds x

Clubbingat60 · 21/05/2018 20:24

Hi October Club! I am getting terribly achey hips? Is this normal at this stage? I am 18 weeks + 5 days. I have had bursitis before I was ever pregnant so I wondered if that was flaring up because of the growing baby. Not felt any fluttters yet but Mid Wife let me hear a very healthy heart beat of 150 recently. Week 20 scan is coming up soon...

caoraich · 21/05/2018 22:18

Awesome thanks @Hayleyxmx !

Has anyone signed up for / previously done the NCT classes? OH and I had a bit of a panic about the fact that we know nothing and have signed up, but not sure what to expect!

EffRam · 21/05/2018 22:37

@Anban that description of the feeling inside is very familiar! I'm 18 weeks today.

RE: back sleeping. So I know the recommendations are to sleep on side, both for naps and night time, and if you wake up on your back it's fine, just roll back (ideally to left) and go back to sleep.

What is the deal with sort of lying reading in bed? Will my body just say nah no more on your back thanks. At the moment it's still most comfy to lie on my back. I read something that said the problem with the vena cava would be obvious as I would feel faint or dizzy if baby was on it, but I don't want to risk hurting the babe of course!

Ceebs85 · 21/05/2018 23:31

@EffRam I laid in bed on my back til quite late on. If you're nervous of that you could tilt slightly to the left. The dizziness was awful and really obvious later on in pregnancy last time.

EffRam · 21/05/2018 23:37

Thanks @ceebs85 that's reassuring and what I thought, that symptoms will become obvious. Will carry on as I am for now!
