I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

@MadeInWolves we are having a surprise!

Any knitters in, or just crochet-ers? I have a great pattern that is brilliant for booties as they just can't fall off - I have made them for many friends' babies! I will hunt it out...

I have to admit I have been feeling really well, didn't get much/any nausea really. but yesterday I had the most intense trapped wind I've ever known, and I think baby must have been leaning on the affected area. So uncomfortable!!!

Trill27 · 17/05/2018 09:38

@EffRam I am a knitter, would love to know which pattern you use. I have made so many things for friends babies in the past (toys, quilts, blankets) but for some reason have not felt the urge yet to get making anything for my own!

If anyone is interested in crocheting toys, this book is absolutely brilliant. And quite easy for beginners. The elephant was one of the first things I crocheted apart from granny squares.

I went out for dinner with a friend last night and on my train home I felt like a real tired pregnant lady! My bump is definitely looking more bump and less bloat now... My partner has been away for a week for work and I'm wondering if he's going to notice a big difference when he gets back tomorrow!

ATP1000 · 17/05/2018 10:03

Hi @effram I am a knitter, if love to see the pattern please! Not sure the booties I have made will stay on very well!

Ahh I keep forgetting about this thread but its so nice seeing everyone's updates. I've still not managed to work out how to join the fb group amd don't find MN threads very easy to follow!

I'm now 17+4 and think I've been having a few flutters but they feel down below rather than in the tummy area. Very weird!

My baby just turned 9 months which means this time last year I was 27 weeks pregnant. WTF am I doing?? Shock

@Milknosugar1 Oh god, my house is a tip too! I revert to teenage habits while he's away... (and we've got loads of people coming round tomorrow – oh well, at least we have a sort of excuse!)

Hi. I’ve just found the new thread. I’m glad to have very nearly reached 20 weeks and the halfway point. I still feel so ill. Horribly nauseous most days and very tired. I had a horrible dizzy episode earlier. I’ve indulged myself buying a few things for the baby. We don’t need much so I’ve just bought a few new items of clothing and a new baby carrier. We already bought a second hand double pushchair but I’m not sure if we will use it as my son prefers to walk everywhere. Still it will be cold not long after baby’s here so he might be persuaded to go in it.
Not sure if anyone remembers but my son was having lots of nosebleeds and I was worried sick about it. Anyway he had a blood test done and the results came back fine. The nosebleeds have also stopped and he hasn’t had one in a couple of weeks. Is anyone feeling nervous about the birth?

Hotchocolate86 · 17/05/2018 12:48

My paragraphs have disappeared. Sorry Hmm

midnight1983 · 17/05/2018 17:03

Hello, haven't been on the thread for weeks due to life getting busy! Due October 11th and have one 4yo already. This time I have placenta at the back and have already felt some definite movements 🌝 Nothing today... I can't wait until they become regular!

RhiBee29 · 17/05/2018 17:31

@MadeInWolves @EffRam I'm also having a surprise Grin

Had 16wk appt today, didn't listen to heartbeat which was disappointing. I'm really struggling with hip pain so Midwife said if it carries on to call her in 2 weeks for a physio referral. My BP seems a bit low at 100/70 but she wasn't concerned.

Booked a private scan for Saturday to surprise DS as he doesn't know about baby yet, I'm so excited!!!

Hope everyone is ok, can't believe some of us are at the half way point already!

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 17/05/2018 18:21

Hi all! I'm fine thanks @ATP1000. Just so busy with GCSE season at work! Thanks for the new thread.

Feeling a lot better now - so much more energy. I definitely have a bump but to others it could still pass for bloating. Hopefully will pop properly soon!

FutureMum · 18/05/2018 06:21

Checking in here! I am 19 weeks now. Anomaly scan on tuesday, I feel quite anxious. I am an older mummy to be and feel much more tired than first time around. Bump seems heavier too.

Katievb · 18/05/2018 16:46

Had our 20 weeks scan today... baby is fine and we are having a Boy 💙💙💙 So excited Grin

RhiBee29 · 18/05/2018 16:53

Congrats @Katievb

There are a lot of boys! Has anyone tried the Chinese gender predictor? For those of you who know the sex is it right? It was right for me with DS, if it's right this time I'm due to have another boy.

Hayleyxmx · 18/05/2018 17:29

@RhiBee29 I checked the Chinese gender prediction chart said I was having a boy I also felt like I was having a boy I just had a gut feeling if that makes sense. Well I’ll never trust my gut instincts... we are definitely having a little girl and we are so pleased we secretly wanted a girl 💕

No it said I’m having a girl! Definitely not! Xx

RhiBee29 · 18/05/2018 18:16

Ah well that's that theory out the window Grin

twobambinos · 18/05/2018 18:28

It was right for me but on the list of symptoms I have about half that say girl and half that say boy Grin so I'd take it with a very large pinch of salt

justtowarm · 18/05/2018 19:08

Congratulations @Katievb

The predictor was wrong for me last time, I will find out on Wednesday about this one (hopefully they will be able to see)!

21 weeks today and am feeling lots of bumping about in my tummy and managed to capture her kicking in video today so I could show my husband! Sooo amazing 💕 really reassuring too.

Can I just ask what everyone is doing re high chairs? I was just gonna wait until later in after baby is here and until I needed one but a lot of my friends got them to use from newborn....so I'm confused. When should I get one....lol!! I know they aren't used for feeding at newborn stage, used instead for somewhere to put baby when in kitchen but to be honest, surely the buggy would suffice?

Oh hey! I lost the last bus but am back on board!

18+3 today and next scan and obstetrics appt is 31st May

I was really disappointed with my 16wk appointment, only got 5 mins with the midwife then it was 2 hours waiting for the obstetrician who I just got a couple of mins with! I have a few pg friends and they all got to listen to baby's heartbeat at 16wk. Have been getting lots of movement over the last week though which was unexpected this early but really nice

I was thinking the same about the high chair @Doll87 - there's so much stuff to buy already for the newborn stage!!

twobambinos · 18/05/2018 21:01

@doll87 we got the chicco Polly magic highchair about 9 years ago. It's reclines so was suitable from birth. We used it when baby was awake in kitchen with us it has a little toy bar on it and we have dogs so it kept the baby away from them.
I don't think a highchair is needed for straight away but some of the ones that are very upright are no good just because it says it's suitable from 6 months doesn't mean the baby will be ready for it at 6 months.
I remember buying a little shape sorted for dd and patiently waiting thinking because it was suitable from 6 months she would be able to play with it Grin
