I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

Also been getting BH a fair amount, combined with intermittent feeling that I've been kicked in the crotch. Lovely! My OH assures me "it's just your ligaments becoming more relaxed, darling, because of collagen changes. Don't worry". I'm sure it's fine for him, it's not HIS ligaments!

Also going to ask a question, because if you can't ask it with (relative) anonymity here, where can you ask it..... sex: how are people coping?? OH is an absolutely zero-pressure sort of chap but it's been a bit crap lately. 2nd trimester was really OK (1st trimester too vomity to even consider) but the last month I have felt more unwieldy and inflexible, and while I'd really like to just lie there, that's not feasible due to bump. Please for the love of God can someone tell me how to shag in a not-too-energetic but still enjoyable fashion!? Blush

unicornchaser · 29/07/2018 18:59

Oh dear! Went back to the pram shop today to be sure we liked the pram before we ordered it.
Now seeing it set up with the toddler seat I don't like it at all! And now between one of 2 silver cross prams 😩 we had decided to get it second hand rather than pay close to a grand for new but now my parents have just dropped the bomb they will pay towards it.
So now to get new to be sure we get the version we want or stick with second hand and have extra cash for other stuff.

Honestly, baby's cause so much confusion and headaches! Pass the wine..... (she wishes!)

Dropped off the thread for a bit there! Glad we're all appreciating the rain, I actually love the heat but I did sit in the garden in my undies when it rained on Friday.

Managed to get a private referral for sciatica (have private with work but there re a million hoops to jump through) and I am IN LOVE with my physio. He gave me some great exercises and explained really well why I'm getting it (mostly because I went from regular exerciser to sloth in the last 6 months). I see him twice a week now.

Shagging. Spoons? I'm all for lazy sex at the best of times tbh.

We've got the babyjogger citi mini. We already have the car seat to go with it. This is pretty much all I've bought, we need to move dd out of nursery down to spare room but she needs more furniture which is in the hallway waiting for DP to put together. One item done, one to go. Then the big move. And THEN I can sort all the baby stuff out.

I'm due 1st Oct but my cs is booked for the 24th sept. If she's big at my 36 week scan they will bring forward another week.

I prefer more unusual names, we only had one for DD and we only have one for this baby. Still struggling on middle name.
Here is my faves list (all vetoed by DP who prefers a more traditional name)

Sadie
Ottoline
Astrid
Xanthe
Eleri
Clodagh
Callinda
Cleome
Caley
Aoife
Isolde
Cora
Perdita (perdy)
Azurine
Calista
Elara
Izzara
Lyra
Miyu
Marna
Elva
Olwen/Olwyn
Nancy

ATP1000 · 29/07/2018 19:39

Thanks for all the name suggestions! I really like the traditional ones but dh is less keen. I think I’m going to wait for the emotion of the day and have another try with my choices 😉

Well I tried to go to a music festival this weekend... Friday was a bit hot then the heavens opened yesterday and we ended up quitting at lunchtime today 😏 could have done with the rain holding off another two days! Baby seemed to enjoy the music though 😂

Quick question, I slipped in the mud on the way back to the car. It was quite a slow fall and I wasn't winded, I landed on my side (hands first) on a bag full of pillows! I've felt baby move normally since. Would you call triage anyway?

@ATP1000 the only name I have spare is a middle name OH rejected, Tamsin. It's sort of old but different, thought I'd mention it.

TinyTerror1 · 29/07/2018 20:17

As for sex... It's been a bit rare here third trimester! Mostly because of the heat. I'd think doggy style should work fine, it's on my to-do list this week ;) or they suggest lying on your side, however you can make that work...

Hayleyxmx · 29/07/2018 20:21

@unicornchaser what silver cross are you going for? If you haven’t decided, to help make your mind up I would say make sure you collapse them and pick them up I wanted the wave at one point I think it’s a classic pram and liked it went to a double but I couldn’t lift it up too heavy for me 🙈

@caoraich not going into detail but try perching on something and sitting up. Back of the sofa and kitchen counter works for us 😉

unicornchaser · 29/07/2018 20:45

Between the surf 3 and pioneer. Saw & collapsed the surf and really liked it but the pioneer is apparently a bit more robust. We do a lot of 'odd road' walking so will use the sling for the most rugged terrain but still need something a bit sturdy.....

Hahahaha sex. Hilarious once upon a time no longer indulged in 🤣

I really liked the look of the surf aswell @unicornchaser didn’t try the pioneer but I remember it coming in a big bundle full of accessories which I thought was great value

Hayleyxmx · 29/07/2018 21:21

So glad to hear the sex stories, we are currently once a week and I felt bad for my partner but hearing everyone’s experiences I think I might take a little break now 🤣

TinyTerror1 · 29/07/2018 21:48

Thanks milk - it was more luck than judgement, the cushions were in the wheelie bag I was pulling! Still I was glad I didn't land with a thump in the mud.

Pain under your ribs can be pre-eclampsia but only if you have other symptoms. I'm pretty sure you're right in your diagnosis, my rib cage has also expanded quite suddenly in the last couple of weeks. I should probably think about bra extenders too.

lovesrunning · 30/07/2018 05:33

Bra extenders! What a great idea. I’ve just been either suffering in my new bigger one, which is now too small again, or wearing some sleeping/nursing ones I got from Jojo Maman which are hugely comfy but, let’s say, practical-looking. I shouldn’t complain, it’s nice actually having something there for the first time. I don’t want them to disappear again in a few months but they probably will!

@tinyterror did you call to make sure? It’s the kind of thing I would say is absolutely fine and they’re so well-protected in there etc etc, until it actually happened to me, then I’d be worrying about it. So I would agree with the make a call to put your mind at rest.

Another spoons fan here...

Belles86 · 30/07/2018 09:24

re sex, if we're doing it once a week I feel like a teenager. Without TMI, things are weirdly sensitive (and not in a good way..) Who knows when normality will resume when babs is here, LOL...

Re bra extenders, I'm fully on board with these and don't know how I'm ever gonna go back..

@twobambinos yeah, I didn't really want one tbh but PIL were over from Portugal and thought it would be nice for them to feel more involved, it was more a family party then anything else and it was actually really lovely :)

@lovesrunning I know what you mean, but no I didn't call in the end. Baby has been wriggling like normal so I'm pretty sure she's fine. I have a growth scan tomorrow morning as well so any final doubts I have will be allayed then. Obviously if I was in pain or she wasn't moving much then I would be on the phone straight away!

caoraich · 30/07/2018 11:39

Brilliant @Milknosugar1 will do!

I've just seen there's an April 2019 baby bus thread. Bloody hell it's suddenly feeling like we've not got long to go at all!!!

I will send my number @Milknosugar1, do you need to be on the main website to pm someone? I only ever really use the app and can't see an option?

Think I have everyone who is interested in keeping track of due dates too now so will pop a new thread on too Smile

TinyTerror1 · 30/07/2018 12:34

@unicornchaser and anyone else who can't find it - in the app there are three dots at the bottom right of each post in the thread, if you tap that it brings up a fairly big list of options including 'PM' :)

unicornchaser · 30/07/2018 12:50

Thanks Tiny, my app doesn't show that.have gone into the website and sent it over anyway now, thanks Milk!
Maybe I need to update my app or something!

TinyTerror1 · 30/07/2018 13:30

Doh. I'll blame baby brain. I didn't register the word 'app' and thought you meant the mobile site, which is what I mostly use... Haven't tried the app!

ATP1000 · 30/07/2018 16:00

I am feeling very beaten up by the baby today. Very nice to feel it but it’s much, much stronger than last week. I can’t sit forward at my desk without feeling serious wriggles, probably in response to being squished! Also she has very strong hiccups, they are going right through my uterus whilst I’m sat down, it feels very strange I think she’s kicking my cervix too which is very offputting when I’m trying to work 🙈

Last thing is my stomach is doing the bowling ball thing at any opportunity today. I’m drinking lots of water but not helping at the moment!
I can’t wait to get home and go to bed!

OP posts:
TinyTerror1 · 30/07/2018 16:51

ATP1000 I know what you mean - it's lovely but somewhat distracting when they are so active! I think it depends which way baby is facing as to how strong the kicks are but I also feel I must be squishing her when she starts kicking/wriggling hard. Mine is having a right old disco today, I use the KicksCount app and I'm already on a number I usually think of as being an acceptable daily total!

I think I read somewhere that Braxton Hicks (although bowling ball is a very good description in my experience Grin) can also be triggered by baby being a bit extra active so that might be what's causing it today. Other things are you being active, and needing a wee, oddly enough (which is great as BH inevitably makes me need a wee anyway Hmm).

unicornchaser · 30/07/2018 17:07

How are everyone's movements feeling at this stage? Mine are more like a ripple feeling if that makes sense? Like it feels like it starts mostly on my right side and ripples into the centre of my belly? And I'll get 3/4 at a time rather than the single pop or prod I used to have......

Also, my ribs at the back are killing me! Don't know if it's muscular beneath the ribs but unless I have 3 cushions behind my back then it hurts so bad when I'm sitting down!
