Twiga · 18/05/2007 15:06

you came back, thank goodness - I was beggining to think my one woman rant had scared everyone off ! I hope the situation isn't quite as stinky as it seems, glad that you've got some good mates around to pitch in. Right, don't want to add to the tumbleweeds blowing through the silence on here today but need to go put my nappies in the tumbler, put our new nappies through their first wash and hang up the current load. See ya later x

NattyThomasandEllen · 18/05/2007 15:09

going to play with tom.. missed him last night (stayed at mums)
see u all laterxx

foxybrown · 18/05/2007 15:09

Natty, could he take it afterwards? I reckon that the first two weeks after having a baby you can pretty much get by with adrenaline, friends, family, but then you hit the wall. If he could take the time then, it would be far more helpful.

My DP is smack bang in the middle of a big project when this lo is due. He wants to do it, and I want him to, that's fine. But I know I'll be at breaking point 10/14 days after having this one, and that's when I'm going to need him, so actually it would work out well.

foxybrown · 18/05/2007 15:11

And Hullo MuchoStinky. Sorry for ignoring you. Have taken my HR hat off now! Give us a rundown on your stats please! Is it your first? 2nd? 12th? Where you are, who you are, whats your favourite ice cream etc etc. The things we need to know

BadZelda · 18/05/2007 15:15

Hello there,

Back from lovely morning in the park/playground with DD - met up with the local mums, and now really looking forward to much more chilling over the summer, and feeling a lot more cheerful. Glad to hear that everything went well Natty, and you'll be having a bouncing girl...but sorry to hear about your DP's leave...makes me annoyed that they are basically holding you to ransom! Sometimes I think it's actually so much harder for fathers - they have just as much right to time to bond with their children, but it's not really recognised in our work-oriented society. Personally I think in a country like Britain there's actually no need for the whole population to work fulltime. People should be paid more to work PT IMO, and be given a lot more opportunities to work from home/flexibly. OK - that's probably not always practical...one can dream though.

foxybrown · 18/05/2007 15:24

Its feast or famine with us. DP is either working all day everyday, or has nothing to do. Luckily he is having a quiet time at the mo so took the day off today following my major meltdown at breakfast time. He's done all the school runs, the shopping, taken the kids out this arvo.

We are definately getting better.

NattyThomasandEllen · 18/05/2007 15:57

lol, he sounds like a dream foxy.

i have just eaten a whole tin of rice pudding and a whole tin of fruit cocktail. omg! i am ravenous(sp?) for sum reason wonder what else is in cuboard.

another disaster strikes.. tax credits cut our money AGAIN! down to 33 a week. great. so now we have 20 quid less a week to buy nappies/food/chocolate.. hurrah

NattyThomasandEllen · 18/05/2007 16:04

BZ u sound like my kinda gal! i think the pressure working mums AND dads are under is redicuous. esp things like benifit entitlement. the money they expect us to live on is stupid!

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 16:27

Foxy can I borrow your dp for the day?! Mine still hasn't fixed my bloody hoover and I NEED to hoover. The boys are coming down and the house is a tip. I cannot handle them being here when the house is a mess, it all gets too much!

I'm going to sit down now and see if I can fix the sodding thing myself! I'm not holding out much hope! Wish me luck!

NattyThomasandEllen · 18/05/2007 16:32

BZ u going to brockwell park meet up? wanna come with me?
20th wasnt it?

NattyThomasandEllen · 18/05/2007 16:35

poor H&A, know what u mean my hoover is my saviour sometimes! whats wrong with it?

foxybrown · 18/05/2007 17:09

Yes, you can have him for a day.

But it'll be a day when he sits on his arse infront of Sky Sports and snores the afternoon away!

Is this the last weekend with the boys Holly?

BadZelda · 18/05/2007 17:11

Natty - yep, they're meeting at the cafe (on the big green lawn bit in front) from 2ish - so I was going to head along at some point. Would be nice to meet you too ;)

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 17:23

Thanks foxy, but I'll give that a miss! My dp does enough watching Sky Sports and snoring on the sofa! It's his favourite pastime! I don't know if this'll be the last weekend with the boys. I hope it is, but we may have to do another one, which I don't want to do because I'll be nearly 38 weeks then!

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 17:25

Oh and I've sort of fixed the hoover. It works and then stops and I have to switch it off and switch it on again, but at least I've managed to get up most of the bits from the carpet! Who needs men? Pah....they are not needed round here!

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 18:30

IS ANYONE AROUND THAT DOESN'T HAVE A TEXT BUDDY??? I have an odd number again!! I was going to pair people up yesterday, but I'll wait til tonight and see if I can get more names.

So far I have sputnik, mytwocents and kittykit on my list to pair up. Anyone else??

foxybrown · 18/05/2007 18:44

So where are those hairy truckers after they met up today then?

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 18:52

Maybe they are both hairy truckers and they have gone trucking!!

BadZelda · 18/05/2007 18:53

annobal · 18/05/2007 18:56

Hurrah - one in bed, one in bath, am sat on sofa on big fat arse looking at MN and duvet covers...

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 18:56

Lol!! My dd likes mod/ska music, her daddy is v pleased!! Are you feeling better BZ?

annobal · 18/05/2007 18:56

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 18:57

hollyandalice · 18/05/2007 18:58
