AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!! My dd is screaming "I WANT MY DINNER" at me! How do you explain to a 2 year old that dinner is cooking and will be ready in a bit?!

I love that pram daisy! I have a new one and want another! Am I greedy?

Westcoaster I'll put you on the stats thread now, sorry I missed you off! Do you want a text buddy? If you do email me at my MN name at hotmail.co.uk with your mobile number. Basically I am pairing people up with buddies so if something happens you let your buddy know and your buddy will let everyone else know any news!

lulumama · 17/05/2007 17:22

natty glad you are ok !!

PMSL at detective bigbump !

BadZelda · 17/05/2007 17:23

Tell her? Give her a rice cake to shut her up?

DaisysGotABigBump · 17/05/2007 17:27

I was going to let them think that I did have super powers....or even wonder whether I was doing some sort of Clark Kent thing in the phone box, and we're the same person

lulumama · 17/05/2007 17:29

ROFL!!!!

hollyandalice · 17/05/2007 17:56

LOL BZ! I did just that! Rice cakes work wonders!

DaisysGotABigBump · 17/05/2007 18:02

Bloody kids!!

DS has been reasonably well behaved for the last couple of days and has been a delight at mealtimes. So, today, I let him watch a bit of Power Rangers on Jetix and of course Daddy has been home for an hour or so.

He's like a different child...every time either of us speak to him he's all whiney and huffy and he's now sat mucking about with his tea and generally being a little git.

So, its either Jetix or DH that is the catalyst in his behaviour. I don't know whether it's for DHs benefit as he knows that DH and I differ slightly in our child rearing philosophy and hasn't played up for me really at all this week...or Jetix really is evil and turns him into a horrible whingeing nasty little toad. Of course, I've just lost the plot and shouted at him, so if he is doing it for DHs benefit, its worked and they're sat having a cosy tea together and I'm here on my own...but it was either that or I was going to lose it big time, so I thought it better to walk away.

Aaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!

DaisysGotABigBump · 17/05/2007 18:03

Why do I want to have another one????? Why????

hollyandalice · 17/05/2007 18:06

I was asking myself the same question earlier daisy! Bloody whiney kids!

DaisysGotABigBump · 17/05/2007 18:11

"ssshhhhh not too loud, we'll be getting into trouble again"

hollyandalice · 17/05/2007 18:14

Oh crap! I LOVE MY DAUGHTER AND MY UNBORN SON! That should stave them off for a while !!

BadZelda · 17/05/2007 18:30

What is evil Jetix...haven't seen it myself - is it some kind of violent cartoon or something?
DD is often really stroppy on a thurs when we've been doing our baby swap, and she's spent the afternoon watching unsuitable telly with 5 yo and his 2.5 yo sister...well the swap is finished for the moment because of impending babies etc, but was beginning to wonder if the social aspect was outweighed by bad influences...

derlor · 17/05/2007 18:33

BZ what is a baby swap? can i swap mine when they are annoying me???

hollyandalice · 17/05/2007 18:36

Oooo, maybe we could have a secret baby shower with actual babies! Who wants to borrow my dd? She is very pretty and funny, but very opinionated and liable to throw tantrums at the drop of a hat!

DaisysGotABigBump · 17/05/2007 18:40

I think Jetix has a definate influence on his behaviour and oh how I remember and long for those lovely days of endless Thomas DVDs....and a sweet natured loving DS. He's still sweet natured and loving, but not after an hour of ying yang bloody yo!

Baby swap Derlor????....you've not even had it yet and you want rid already

Had a text from bumper re our meet up tomorrow...I'm going to be spending the whole time catching her up on the last few days....if she is indeed a 26 yr old pregnant woman and not some kind of mad psycho.....if you don't hear from either of us again, fear the worst

BadZelda · 17/05/2007 18:40

Well - it's not a technical term...basically for the last year or so me and a couple of other mums have been looking after each other's kids for 1/2 a day a week (we've all got 2 yo's)...which means that we then each get one and a half days 'free time' (which in my case has been work-time, as I work 3 days a week). It's much cheaper than nursery, DD's get to socialise, and we mums get the benefit's of each other's learning about stuff. We've stopped it for the moment as two of us have just had, or are about to have babies - but will probably start it again in a few months.

Unfortunately it's apparently illegal to do this kind of child-care swapping because we're just mums, not registered childminders, and by using the free time for work we're effectively getting 'free' childcare that's not taxable time or something....blame blair who obviously spotted this loophole and changed the law last year!

BadZelda · 17/05/2007 18:43

Actually I mentioned this on that other preg forum that I got banned from (before getting banned) and it started a huge furor about how none of them would EVER let their little PRECIOUSES be looked after by some other woman who was totally UNQUALIFIED...but it worked out really well for all of us, and I've made some great friends in the process (didn't really have any 'mummy' friends before, as most of my mates are drink-addled reprobates who haven't bred yet) so I still think it's a great idea.

derlor · 17/05/2007 18:44

it's OK daisy i'll keep hold of my new one for a while it's the other 2 i will offer up for a swap!!
BZ how can helping out your friends like that be illegal????

BadZelda · 17/05/2007 18:44

LOL holly - your DD and mine sound like they could be mates. Except Ella doesn't do tantrums, luckily (?) maybe because I think they're hillarious and piss myself laughing at how cute she is when she gets in a strop!

derlor · 17/05/2007 18:46

i don't see that it is any different from sending your LO off to play at a friends house for a couple of hours, i do that all the time and likewise we often have a house full here too - surely being a parent MAKES you qualified to look after children while they play - FFS will we all have to sit an exam soon before we leave hospital with our newborns???

hollyandalice · 17/05/2007 18:48

at the other forum! I would leave my dd with most of my friends. I also sometimes leave her with my dad or my brother , who are not qualified in childcare at all!! OMG!!! (My mum is a teacher, so it's prob ok to leave dd with her )!!

BadZelda · 17/05/2007 18:51

SEE, THAT'S WHY I'M SO GLAD I FOUND YOU LOT INSTEAD

oops - sorry for shouting. Have just threatened to murder DH...was giving him a nice kiss when he said 'you really need an eyebrow pluck...they're starting to meet'. 'what, in the middle?' 'No, your hairline'.

So if you see me on the news in handcuffs you'll know why.

hollyandalice · 17/05/2007 18:52

LOL BZ!! My dp told me (about my horrid sticky out veins) "Oh you're just getting old darling, old ladies have them!". Wanker!!

derlor · 17/05/2007 18:53

your Dad or your Brother????? Holly that is SHOCKING - might have to report that!!!!
what a load of shite that other thread must have been it is SO ridiculous i can't believe some people - bet they would leave with them with a nanny they don't know from adam though!!!!!!!(of course they are qualified) 18 with NO kids but qualified with a bit of paper none the less!!!!

Seansfatlass · 17/05/2007 18:55

Hi girls,

Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts.
LO and me seem to be fine for the time being.

Yes it is my liver apparently, they are doing more tests to rule out lots of other things that it could be besides OC. For now I am twice weekly monitoring CTG + 1 week bloods, on Vitamin K for clotting and have to have a liver test also. But will be having Lo around 37-38 weeks - which is 8th - 15th June. That is unless anything changes in the meantime, or of course if they are not happy with LOs weight as I am still being monitored for the babys growth. So am at hospital mon and fri next week and wed for doppler, fluid and growth scan.

I would say to anyone don't ignore itching , mine is on my one foot (on the sole), and normally I would just associate it with dry skin TBH, which I do get from wearing flipflops. So I was quite unsure of phoning this morning , as the itching is not that bad, but it was fresh in my mind as MW only mentioned it last week.

Right off to do bath & bedtime now
