@December2018 how cute!!

Does anyone else have an achy 'bump'? I've been pretty active today and my uterus has been giving me gip and hurting quite a bit.. just wondering if it's normal ligament stretching or something to be concerned about?

December2018 · 13/06/2018 18:33

Hi gemsie yeah I'm quite achey too, it's sort of round the bottom of my back too, I feel it more if I'm really busy and then sit down to take a breather

xLeanne128 · 13/06/2018 18:48

What a gorgeous scan @December2018 mines tomorrow and I'll be 12+5 so excited but so scared. Achy too! X

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 13/06/2018 18:58

Wow @December2018 incredible pic! We're due a day apart which is exciting!
@xLeanne128 good luck for tomorrow, and @JustVent for Friday!
@Paranormalbouquet so happy to hear that your stitch is doing its job - what a relief!
@Roomarmoset I really feel for you with your scan being later than the rest of the group - I felt like that too with an original EDD of 24th. Fx it comes around faster than you think 😊
@cake that's great news!!! How quickly did you get that after you had your scan/bloods?

Gazingers · 13/06/2018 19:34

Hey @roomarmoset. I am waiting for my scan too. It is next Tuesday evening (19th) and time is going slowly! Lovely scan @December2018 🙂 Feeling totally exhausted today. A new level of tiredness has kicked in... x

Cakelaur · 13/06/2018 20:14

@December2018 what a perfect scan! Bub all stretched out and comfy in there!!
@Gemsie1984 I was cleaning the house today and had to sit down as all the hard work made my belly hurt a little.
Good luck @xLeanne128 for tomorrow!! 🤞🏻

AGirlinLondon · 13/06/2018 20:40

Congrats @December2018!!

@Gemsie1984 @cakelaur I did a lot of walking today and got home and crashed...just woke up from a three hour ‘nap’ oops. Glad I fed the dog before I passed out!

I also have some weird shooting or aching pains in the round ligament area. Everywhere I check says it’s normal!

@GoldilocksTheGraceless it took a week to come through. They said it would take three weeks! Haha

December2018 · 14/06/2018 06:34

I had my screening done yesterday my MW said if we are higher risk we will get a phone call in about 3 days, and if low risk we will get a letter in 2 weeks

December2018 · 14/06/2018 06:35

Haha gemsie... I've got a kiwi 🥝

Gemsie1984 · 14/06/2018 07:59

I'm classified as low risk too but my odds were not as good as that..
Mine were:
Trisomy 21: 1:9217
Trisomy 13/18: 1:20000

Baby's nuchal measurement was 1.8mm. My free HCG was on the low end of normal at 0.75mmol but PAPP-A was high at 2.5mmol. I'm also classified as 'older' as I'm 34. My age related risk for Downs was 1:461!

JustVent · 14/06/2018 08:15

It’s my can tomorrow. I keep thinking what if it has no arms? What if it’s brain has only developed half way? What if it’s insides are on the outside?

I didn’t know I was pregnant in the beginning and took meds that are absolutely not ok for pregnany, and can cause abnormalities.

I had an 8 week scan because of this and everything was fine but what if things stopped being fine between then and now?!

Paranormalbouquet · 14/06/2018 08:18

Haven’t heard about my odds from nhs yet but am assuming low risk due to no phone call! Harmony results today and repeat nuchal scan (offered as part of harmony package). After today have no appointments for a whole 4 weeks - I’ve had an unusual number in my first trimester for obvious reasons!

Paranormalbouquet · 14/06/2018 08:20

@JustVent I understand the anxiety, but try to remember that after a good scan at 8 weeks there’s an excellent chance all will be fine at 12 weeks. Do you know how high risk the drugs are? Lots of drugs can cause abnormalities but often the risk of this is very very low.

Cakelaur · 14/06/2018 08:32

@AGirlinLondon yup all totally normal. We have to remember doing what we normally do with misshapen insides is gonna add a little strain. Mines never serious pain, but it's enough to say ok take a little rest for a moment.

@December2018 I've got a 🥝 too!! AND my 🐈 is called 🥝!! 😂 my next milestone in my head is and 🥑 which is 16 weeks.

@Gemsie1984 how many weeks are you as an apple?

I'm 13 and one says a satsuma, one says a jalapeño (although I have that one set to fun objects so I'm actually a matchbox car) haha and one says as long as a pea pod! 🤨

Cakelaur · 14/06/2018 08:36

@JustVent if there's a mega abnormality with the brain, chances are bub wouldn't have survived at 8 weeks. Also baby doesn't use your supply of anything until around 10-14 weeks when the placenta kicks in. Until then it's pretty self sufficient and lives off the egg sack thing. I had a friend (no judging) that went on a wild night and did drugs, alcohol, smoked... you name it... and she didn't realise she was about 12 weeks at the time! She was mortified when she found out about 3 weeks later. And she is a perfectly formed little girl!! I hope your scan goes well, and I bet all fingers and toes are perfect!! 🤞🏻

JustVent · 14/06/2018 08:41

Thank you.
It was oral thirst medication and when I looked into it it caused abdormalities in baby rats when given to pregnant rats.

It doesn’t help that a few weeks before we were doing feral development at uni and all the tiny intricate stuff that can go wrong between conception and week 12 with regards to the intricate cell changes.

JustVent · 14/06/2018 09:16

Oral thirst medication?! Wtf autocorrect?

Oral thrush medication.

Paranormalbouquet · 14/06/2018 09:22

@JustVent a quick google search says that standard doses of fluconazole are not associated with abnormalities.

JustVent · 14/06/2018 09:38

Thank you @paranormalbouquet that’s a much better read than what I found.
I don’t even remember by source, I haven’t even picked up my BNF because I was worried I would just read worse stuff and make me worry even more.

MagicalCreatures · 14/06/2018 12:01

Everything looks good so far.
Feeling very happy right now.
Baby kept turning away from us so was hard to get a good picture. But he/she was kicking and turning like crazy. So amazing to see. Official due date they’ve given me is the 28th December. (My sisters birthday) So 1 day behind but All my other scans have measured to the 27th so in my head it’s still that.

At my 12 week scan they dated me 3 days ahead which now makes me November 28th, I still think I’ll have a December baby though. I love how chilled baby seems to look 😍 and crazy that you can see his/her brain. Loving everyone’s 12 week scans.
