@Saraswati &@Amarettoplease it's good to hear about the cocoon vs the carrycot. I was thinking of just getting the cocoon for space and money reason so it's nice to know it was good for a winter baby.

I'd like to try a sling, there's a couple of libraries near me, but I know it might not work out. Same goes for cloth nappies.

My belly has actually gone down as I'm less bloated now but I'm sure it will only be a brief reprieve and I still need bigger jeans.

I don't want a c-section but I know St Thomas' is completely against them, they have a letter online and include it in you maternity notes. Also they don't seem to have many stats on that which site.

Place marking and catching up!!

Loving all the scan pics ladies!!

News has started spreading around work and I've noticed a few glances hehe as long as the students don't find out yet! Had chat with head/hr re advertising and they are going to try and get one out soon. Also mentioned that would be coming back start of July (so get paid over the summer!!) so they may end up having to get someone to cover from Sept-July as chances of someone starting in October and ending in June is slim - unless they want cheap holiday!!

@CVB1990 Love that dress!! Was that in store or online?

TinyPawz · 03/05/2018 21:30

@LastNightsMakeUp thanks for the article, I'll have a good read through before next week. And reread nice guidelines

CVB1990 · 03/05/2018 22:50

@miniminions ooooh thanks! I tried it on a win but have put it away for theholiday, think it might be a tad short for the UK weather without tights or leggings. It was in store but there was a full rail so I’m imagining it could possibly be online aswell, had little ruffles on the sleeves

Shrimpi · 04/05/2018 00:22

My scan was also today and everything good EDD 12th November.

It still doesnt feel real somehow! I can't accept it completely (like what?! That's inside me?!), but I also feel very very lucky to have not faced anything worrying or bad news so far.

It has totally clicked for my husband who is now very, adorably excited.

Congratulations everyone else on your positive results!! X

Saraswati · 04/05/2018 06:37

Haha thanks for the floor love it's basically why we bought the house! However we are going to carpet the bedrooms as it's a bit cold bit it will stay elsewhere I love it!

I wore dd for a bit and will need to with this one as I'll my hands free for dd and dog walks. I can't wait to get shopping and see what new things have come out since I had dd, I love over researching all this stuff Smile

Same here for my dp @shrimpi I think it was a bit of an abstract concept before the scan but he found it all fascinating and was ooo and aaahing at seeing the little hands etc and is now so excited and kissing my tummy every 5 minutes. I love him even more now!

sarahhh1984 · 04/05/2018 06:47

Congratulations @Shrimpi!

Will be telling the other mums in DD's Water Babies group today. Suspect they'll think I'm bonkers as DD is the oldest in the group by a good few months so none of them are anywhere close to thinking about trying for another. Feel really bad for DD as she's missed so much swimming the last few weeks due to my nausea and fatigue. Moving her to a Saturday group for the next chapter so DH can share the load!

MeredithShepherd · 04/05/2018 07:53

Bleurgh... been up all night with a D&V bug Sad
Really hoping DS doesn’t catch it as he’s going away to the beach for the weekend with Grandma and Grandad!

GreenMeerkat · 04/05/2018 08:02

@TinyPawz I had an EMCS with first baby. Tried for a VBAC with second but ended up with another EMCS. In hindsight, I wish I'd just gone for an elective. Going for ELCS this time without question.

Emma0902 · 04/05/2018 08:13

I think am the 4th mum to now be announcing in our water babies class!

sarahhh1984 · 04/05/2018 08:16

@Emma0902 The ladies in my group all sound like they're waiting for much bigger age gaps! Hope once this baba is born I can get him or her into classes on the same day as DD. With hindsight, wish I'd skipped all the other groups with DD and just done Water Babies!

moomoo85 · 04/05/2018 12:29

@TinyPawz I had an emergency section last time. My plan at the moment is to try for a vbac but to have an elective section booked for one week after my due date in case it doesn't happen. My section was absolutely fine but it is a pain not being able to drive for a while as my husband can't so would quite like to avoid it if possible. I have also been reading that the fact that I got to fully dilated is a positive indicator for it going ok and the fact that there is a 4.5 year gap between them means that my risk of rupture is lower than with a smaller gap.

This might all change but it is the plan at the moment.

petiteange28 · 04/05/2018 13:05

Same here as @moomoo85 I had EMCS last time after induction not progressing (he was late) so I am going to try again for VBAC even though EMCS was so straightforward and I was up walking within a few hours (I'm not very good at being told to sit and rest). I definitely would not want to go down the induction route again....I did not have a good experience BUT am sure it is better for most people!

MiniMinions · 04/05/2018 14:02

I had an EMCS last time and am hoping for a VBAC but just googled risk of rupture after your comment @moomoo85 and am now worrying I'm going to have a scene like Alien!!!

Also anyone else suffering with leg cramps at night? I had on last night and I remember I got them occasionally when pregnant with DS and can't remember what I did to alleviate them....am trying to actively drink more water today - as a result going to the loo every hour haha!!

Emma0902 · 04/05/2018 14:45

@sarahhh1984 I agree only one we've stuck to, we do tumble tots but it's getting a bit boring now she's walking, it's kind of like just like soft play!

sarahhh1984 · 04/05/2018 14:52

@Emma0902 We've not done Tumble Tots but since DD is almost walking I don't think we'll bother. She seems to get the most enjoyment from Water Babies and going to the park!

petiteange28 · 04/05/2018 15:17

@MiniMinions trying not to even think of the rupture....especially as DS1 is only 12 months so not much time to heal. Apparently, I have been assured that it should be fine......Hmm

Melaniesunflower · 04/05/2018 18:15

Marking place

So nice to see everyone's scan and bump pics! I'm still blessed with virtual no symptoms, which doesn't help with the paranoia........ I have my midwife booking appointment on Thursday, and hoping I won't have to wait too long for the 12 week scan , which should be the week after, but I'm anticipating having to wait as we go away on holiday on 22nd May

mrsmistergav · 05/05/2018 08:17

Hope everyone is ok. So in need of caffiene today but not going to have any. My mum fell and broke her ankle last night and being a nurse I was called to help. Not allowed to lift and I haven't told my family yet. Waiting for the 12 week scan. Was awkward to say the least as she was on the floor for 3.5 hours waiting for the ambulance. I've never felt so useless in my life! So only had 4 hours sleep as I have to go back to the hospital today to see how she is and see if she needs surgery. So worried which isn't doing anyone any good.

olderthanyouthink · 05/05/2018 08:22

Oh god @mrsmistergav I hope you both feel better soon. How about a little chocolate 🍫? Only go a little bit of caffeine but it make everything better ☺️

OP posts:
LastNightsMakeUp · 05/05/2018 09:08

Poor you @mrsmistergav are you not allowing yourself any caffeine? I've cut back but the nurse in me can not survive on less than top cups of tea a day after years of being heavily reliant on it! Hope your mum is ok - things will get so much easier when you can let your belly hang out x

LastNightsMakeUp · 05/05/2018 09:08

*two cups!

mrsmistergav · 05/05/2018 09:12

@lastnightsmakeup I'm not really a hot drink drinker and never got into tea or coffee. Just keeping clear as caffiene made me weird even before being pregnant and it makes me really sick now

TinyPawz · 05/05/2018 12:42

When does the exhaustion end?

moomoo85 · 05/05/2018 12:44

I miss tea, as with my last pregnancy it was one of my first aversions. It was also one of the last ones to wear off :(
