Hi everyone! Hectic few days my baby boy was born in the 19th at 6am but weighs a healthy 7lb I'm kinda glad didn't go full term he would have been huge! Labour was 40mins as well so annoying as only could get the gas and air and no time to use the empty pool! But so happy he is here with us!
It's weird kind of miss the bump but glad to be able to get comfy do t know about the rest of you but last few mo this could not sit, stand or lie down without needing to move after a few mins!
Good luck everyone hope the rest of your time goes smoothly x

Mayah · 22/10/2018 04:29

@Firefly89 congratulations on your safe delivery. So glad to hear your little boy is healthy and well. Aww, you can start to enjoy your little baby. How does it feel? How are you settling into mummy life? Jealous to hear how comfy you are now haha, everything is definitely uncomfortable at this stage. I can't wait to sleep in all the positions I used to.. assuming I can sleep at all of course Grin congrats again and thank you for the update Flowers

Firefly89 · 22/10/2018 05:03

@Mayah thank you! It feels amazing except the non sleeping! He slept most of the 24hrs after birth but now up every 3hrs for feeding so tiring but its still amazing!
How long do you have left?

sarahhh1984 · 22/10/2018 07:21

@Firefly89 Congratulations! So happy for you. Keeping my fingers crossed I won't be too far behind.

intelligentPutty · 22/10/2018 11:26

@Firefly89 big congratulations. Enjoy the cuddles. Xx

DrWhy · 22/10/2018 11:45

Huge congratulations @Firefly89 glad you are settling in to it well, the lack of sleep is exhausting.
@Mayha I sympathise on the pelvic pain. Mine is niggly rather than awful but it’s almost impossible to find a comfortable way to sit or lay by the end of the day and the turning over in bed is a mission involving building and rebuilding a pillow fortress every time! On top of the itching I’m actually wondering if I might get more sleep when the baby arrives! (I’m going to regret saying that!!).

sarahhh1984 · 24/10/2018 14:44

Had my pre-op today in advance of ELCS which is a week tomorrow. 🙀 Had to be tested for liver function as well as I've been displaying a few odd symptoms. Hoping it all comes back fine. Not sure what they'll do if it doesn't.

That said, the lovely mw also got me a prescription for some industrial strength antacids. My heartburn has been so severe it's been making me puke. These should help me feel more or less normal and go for entire days without bringing up my food!

Mayah · 29/10/2018 22:41

Has anyone's baby engaged yet? This nugget is due 7th November (next Wednesday Shock) and for the past week she's spending more time in my ribs than ever before, the poor girl clearly has no sense of direction.

How are we all feeling with our due dates getting closer? Is anyone overdue yet?

sarahhh1984 · 29/10/2018 23:00

@Mayah, judging by how frequently I need to pee I think mine has engaged. Also breathing is a lot easier but still getting kicks to the ribs. MW thinks this is because she has long legs though so she's dropped down and stretched out. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My ELCS is booked for Thursday so that's the latest I'll be going, which is both nerve-wracking and exciting. The way I'm getting contractions though I wouldn't be surprised if I have to go in before that. May just be wishful thinking on my part though as I'm so uncomfortable at this point.

How are you (and everyone else) getting on?

Mayah · 29/10/2018 23:13

@sarahhh1984 oh, god that is so nerve wracking and exciting at the same time!! Definitely excited for you! Can't wait to hear your good news.

I was getting 'contractions' frequently last week but haven't felt a thing for a few days now. Plus I'm up a lot less at night for a wee which surely is a move in the wrong direction Hmm. But I've been getting this unbearable, sharp pain in my vagina. Only lasts for a second, happens maybe 2 3 times a day, but doesn't half make me jump out my skin. Any clue what that could be? Got a MW app on Wednesday so I'll be firing 101 questions at her hahaha

sarahhh1984 · 29/10/2018 23:28

@Mayah, I get that pain too occasionally. I think I read it's baby bumping against your cervix but I could be wrong so definitely best to ask your mw. I know babas can engage and then come back up before re-engaging so I think it's just part of the whole thing. Think this one has done it a few times since about 35 weeks but she seems pretty solidly down in my pelvis now.

My contractions are getting on my nerves now. Every time they start getting painful and regular enough for me to think about calling the hospital, they stop. It's almost daily occurrence. Because I'm having an ELCS I need to contact the Delivery Suite ASAP if I go into labour so they can get me in for an EMCS instead but all these false alarms have me second guessing myself so much I'll probably end up giving birth on the bathroom floor. Never had all this stress with DD. With her my waters broke and everything went from there so I just knew I was definitely in labour.

sarahhh1984 · 30/10/2018 13:55

Just a quick update, I had a call from the hospital a little earlier and they're bringing my C-section forward to tomorrow afternoon! No problems my end, it's just that a few people booked for tomorrow have gone early so they're moving some people forward a day.

Going to have a little Halloween baby!

olderthanyouthink · 30/10/2018 15:03

I sort of fell off this thread in the summer, oops, was trying to catch up but gave up in the end

Congratulations @Firefly89 and @BadBadBeans

Good luck @sarahhh1984 how exciting

I've had a dull back aches since the weekend (37 weeks) and crampy tummy pains since last night (which seem to have switched constipation to runs -sorry ) which is making me feel a bit sicky. Better not go into labour anytime soon, I'm so not ready and I have tickets for a ballet tonight (birthday treat).

@sarahhh1984 well that escalated slightly Grin All the best, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope everything goes great and you recover well and enjoy your new baby. No tricks, only treats for you tomorrow Halloween Grin

Kt2108 · 30/10/2018 21:42

Good luck @sarahhh1984 !! How exciting x

dovek123 · 31/10/2018 12:50

My baby due 28/11 ..,, not long now eek !

mummyofgirls2 · 31/10/2018 12:58

Hi Ladies!
I was originally on this thread but forgot the details - baby brain Grin !! I am 37 weeks tomorrow and we are going in Saturday for an induction due to reduced movements, it was completely unexpected I wasn't due to finish work until the 15th, so my official last day is tomorrow! So excited!

We will be hurrying around all day Friday, cleaning the house, packing a bag for my DD to take to my mums! Putting the next to me crib up as its still sitting in the bag lol.

Any tips on what food to take in for my partner? Pot noodles etc? The first time round I had my mum and partner but I don't want to be left alone so want to make sure he is well fed!!!

sarahhh1984 · 01/11/2018 01:59

Thanks for the good wishes, ladies. Ivy arrived safe and sound on Halloween afternoon weighing 8lb 10oz. My ELCS went perfectly and I'm hoping all being well we can be home Thursday evening. It was such a great experience. I'm absolutely obsessed with her and her little chubby cheeks already!

olderthanyouthink · 01/11/2018 04:07

@sarahhh1984 😍 congratulations! Lovely name.

I'm a tiny bit jealous but not ready for baby to come just yet

@mummyofgirls2 maybe take him something that doesn't have a strong smell? (Can't remember how pot noodles smell) you/he could pick up some sandwiches and something to graze on like pretzels?

Hi! May I please slink in here..? I was due on the 24th October but ALL of the bitches in the October thread have selfishly had their babies and left me alone. ;)

41+2 today and no sign that the little gremlin will be putting in an appearance any time soon. My twin daughters weren't born until 41+3, so I should have anticipated a late baby but I just want to meet him or her now!

Mayah · 02/11/2018 17:17

@sarahhh1984 congratulations, happy to hear the good news. Hope you're settling in well at home now. Rest up and enjoy your baby Ivy Flowers

@meetthewildes how inconsiderate of them all Grin welcome, welcome. I'm 39+2 and counting down the days now. Not sure I'm mentally prepared to go over tbh, I can imagine the days passing as if they were months. Hopefully your little bundle makes an appearance soon.

Mayah · 06/11/2018 04:51

So I'm up with contractions and I don't know if it's the real thing or not Blush I had light, constant back pain for a few hours earlier. We then DTD which usually brings on contractions, only this time there was blood when I wiped a few hours after. I also feel slightly nauseous. I am timing the contractions but they're irregular which tells me it's false alarm. I'm due on the 7th so I would be over the moon if she was actually on her way out Grin

Just typing this here to keep me sane through the pain. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Kt2108 · 06/11/2018 05:06

@Mayah definitely sounds like the real thing! Fingers crossed for you and lots of luck! X

Mayah · 07/11/2018 03:08

@Kt2108 indeed it was the real thing Grin my little angel was born yesterday at 8:45am and we're both doing well. Still can't believe she's mine!

Kt2108 · 07/11/2018 04:52

@Mayah ahhh congratulations. Hope you're both doing well! How did it go for you? That's amazing. ❤️
