@Mayah Congratulations! Really happy for you. It's the best feeling in the world.

Emelene · 07/11/2018 06:19

Congratulations @Mayah! Smile I keep having contractions in the evening that just fizzle out - I'm looking forward to the real deal and meeting my baby!

@Kt2108 @Emelene @olderthanyouthink @sarahhh1984 thank you, I can't wait to hear the good news of your arrivals.

I actually thought the whole ordeal was Braxton hicks. I LUCKILY made it to the hospital in time to push Blush

Emelene · 12/11/2018 05:59

@Mayah that's amazing, congratulations! So you didn't labour in hospital for very long?

My baby girl arrived on Saturday morning at 2:10am at 40+5. I knew I was going into labour because I had a pretty spectacular waterfall of waters breaking then surges starting pretty much straight away! We had a wonderful home birth, it was absolutely amazing and I still can't believe I did it! The hypnobirthing was fantastic and we managed with tens machine and then a birth pool before she was finally born on the sofa.

Hope you ladies are enjoying newborn cuddles. Smile

@Emelene your birth sounds fantastic! Hope all is well, mega congratulations xx

Mayah · 13/11/2018 11:06

@Emelene that sounds amazing, happy to hear you had a good experience. Enjoy your little one. Yes, didn't labour for long at all in the hospital. I was taken to the midwife led unit and had the urge to push before she could even examine me. 45 minutes later, I was holding my princess.

olderthanyouthink · 15/11/2018 14:05

Congratulations @Emelene

I'm 39+5 and keep getting what I guess are contractions, they were every 10 mins last night but have gotten a a bit more spread out today. Don't feel any worse than period pain I've had before really. I wonder how long this is going to go in for, I was hoping for a 18/11/18 birthday Smile

I think I had Braxton hicks before for ages whee my belly would go hard but I wouldn't feel anything.

After some drama and lots of pain, I have a little girl.

Born yesterday in the bath at home, without medical help and DP on the phone to 999 in another room. A hair under 6lbs, thank god, and completely adorable and healthy.

@olderthanyouthink oh my lord! How scary/amazing. Congrats!! Were you full term/ expecting it?

olderthanyouthink · 17/11/2018 18:20

So scary, but luckily straight forward and we're all ok.

I'd be 40 weeks today so she was just about on time. I had contractions every 3 mins lasting a minute which is what they said to go in for, I went in was only 1cm dilated and contractions slowed down and was sent home after a few hours. Midwife said it comes back when they're more frequent for at least 3 hours. Took a while to get a prescription for pain killers (didn't get to take them) and an Uber home (most painful ride ever). Had baby 1.5hrs after getting home.

DP was on the phone to hospital and they said to come back but I knew that wasn't going to happen because my body was pushing. Then he called 999 and who sent 2 ambulances and 6 lovely paramedics who showed up about 10 mins after the baby arrived. then there was some back and forth about midwives not coming out to us and which hospital we would be taken to instead

I'm sure it's fine for most people but I just didn't fit the normal textbook criteria

Hi all,

I was initally one of the firsts on this thread but had an awful pregnancy with placenta previa, ended up with a placenta abruption and an emergency c section under GA. I had a baby girl on the 7th october at 35 weeks, shes currently 1 week corrected and weighed 4lbs when born.
Were having a hard time with CMPA, i hope none of you ever have to deal wirh ir!

Mayah · 24/11/2018 21:13

@Cupcakesandlove so sorry to hear your experience wasn't the best. Glad to hear your baby girl arrived safely. I hope you're recovering well and baby is developing well too. I'm sure you're doing great, keep at it and good luck Flowers
