@amarettoplease I had a bee last time which I bought second hand then sold it for almost as much as I bought it. It was a good investment! Same with the snuzpod although I bought that new.

I'll probably buy a bee again as it was such a good pram and you don't need a carrycot, I don't like them. Really wish I'd kept all my baby stuff as I got rid of everything from dd, never thought I'd be having a baby this soon but absolutely thrilled I am Grin

sarahhh1984 · 03/05/2018 16:49

Congratulations on all the successful scans!

Nevada54 · 03/05/2018 17:02

So exciting that there have been so many scans today! :)

Here is mine. Measured at 12+5 which is only one day out from the early scan. It all feels very real now and I can feel myself relaxing a bit more.

@saraswati I was wondering whether it was worth getting the carrycot or just using the cocoon- would you say cocoon then? I can’t imagine it would get all that much use tbh- school run is literally across the road so will use a sling (another thing I need to scour eBay for!) and places I go regularly I drive to. Also, we live in a first floor Victorian conversion- narrow stairs and nowhere to store a buggy so it will live in the car...

Nevada54 · 03/05/2018 17:05

@Ravenclaw87 I'm North East too!

My NHS scan today was so different from the early private one. The guy doing it today maybe said 2 words to me, seemed so uninterested and I only got to see the screen for a few seconds. Really pleased I had such a great experience at 10w.

sarahhh1984 · 03/05/2018 17:07

@Amarettoplease I'm getting a different pram to you but you can get a carrycot or cocoon for it. I'm going for the cocoon. DD grew out of her carrycot so fast and I'm thinking the cocoon will be snugger for a winter baby.

marajade12 · 03/05/2018 17:13

Hi all,
Had another scan today with consultant at the Foetal Medicine Unit. Apart from the fluid around the heart, which hasn’t increased since my last scan, everything else looked normal. Back in again for another scan in two weeks.

On a more positive note got my combined screening results back today and everything is low risk so now stating to feel hopeful that things are looking up. Baby was also moving and waving like mad🙈

Might have to buy some new clothes soon as nothing is fitting any more 😂

Emma0902 · 03/05/2018 17:13

We've got the bugaboo cameleon now but looking at the donkey for them both to be in, it's only just over a year old so hoping I get a good price for it to put towards the new pram!

So many positive scans 😍

TinyPawz · 03/05/2018 17:41

Just curios (read super nosey), those of you who had sections with previous baby are you hoping for vbac or elcs this time?

I had elcs for Dd will be 12 years ago with this one is due for breech, reduced fluid, dodgy placenta and will be asking for elcs again this time.

Saraswati · 03/05/2018 17:48

@amarettoplease I had the cocoon with dd, she was born new years eve so a winter baby too and it kept her so snug! In the spring I zipped the top off and used it as a liner for a while. I will definitely just go for the cocoon again!

Ravenclaw87 · 03/05/2018 18:05

Congratulations on all the lovely scans everyone. We’re not going to find out gender. DH wanted to know but I didn’t and so he was happy to go with a surprise too.

@TinyPawz I’m also planning to be part of the sling/cloth nappy brigade! Glad there’s a few of us so we can share tips as don’t know anyone who has used cloth.

@AiredaleFan we’re moving house soon to North Tyneside so may be fairly close? I’m booked at RVI as it’s in the middle of where we are now and our new house.

@Nevada54 great to have another north east Mum. I’m not really keen to shell out for NCT so hoping to do as much antenatal networking as I can myself. Sorry you didn’t have a good experience with your sonographer.

@marajade12 your scan today sounds promising - hope it’s good news again in 2 weeks. I treated myself to H&M maternity jeans after my scan yesterday as only have 2 pairs of fitting trousers!

marchblossom · 03/05/2018 18:43

@TinyPawz I had an emergency c-sect with dd1, vaginal delivery in hospital with dd2 and hoping for home birth with this one.

CVB1990 · 03/05/2018 18:44

Lovely to see all the scans!! Makes me more excited to have ours now... I had to go and try on some ‘bigger’ clothes today as my normal leggings were making me feel sick.... gunna attach a picture of my belly, I’m guessing as this is my second it’s normal to get bigger sooner but I feel like this is humongous 😂😂

Saraswati · 03/05/2018 19:13

I did my first bump pic today too! I'm about the same size I was at 20 weeks with dd Confused. Although loads of people have said to me they got bigger quicker initially with no.2 but ended up a similar size at the end. So I'm holding out for that! I need bigger trousers but not ready for mat ones yet, will do hairbabds trick for a while!

NoCatsHere · 03/05/2018 19:36

raven I’m another cloth nappy/sling fan!

Love seeing the bump pics!
CVB yes I defo got bigger quicker win my second so don’t worry. Dress looks great.
sara so random but I love your floor! We have the same!

Magpie24 · 03/05/2018 19:42

@Saraswati floor goals!

NoCatsHere · 03/05/2018 19:45

Tiny I had emcs with ds1 then Vbac with ds2. Not sure what I’ll do with this one!

LastNightsMakeUp · 03/05/2018 19:53

@TinyPawz had an emcs with dd and have asked for an elcs with this baby. Midwife said good for me. Have an appointment with the birth options midwife at 22 weeks and then will be referred to have a consultant appointment at 30ish weeks where the cs will be booked (as long as I don't have any hurdles to jump in the process.) My midwife was very supportive of my decision though which makes me feel hopefully that it won't be a stress.

I can't remember the website but there is one you can search for your hospital and it tells you the percentage of women there who have a successful vbac, the % who have assisted delivery, % emcs and % ecls. My hospital seem to sway towards ecls by the look of it. Will try and find it, may have been a which! Page

LastNightsMakeUp · 03/05/2018 19:56

This may out me as it's a small hospital but you can search for any hospitals birthing units. Also tells you what facilities are available, if there are private rooms available etc etc - I found this useful with dd too

@saraswati yehhh I’m the same! I only got about this big when I was about 25 weeks with first, but yeh hopefully won’t get much bigger than first I’m hoping. The fact that I’m away at the end of the month means my original holiday wardrobe is a no no now haha!

Dress was £5 from Asda!! Bargain! 🙌🏻

TheUbercornMum · 03/05/2018 20:26

Fantastic news on all the positive scans and results!!
@marajade12 hope everything continues to be fine in 2 weeks!
@TinyPawz EMCS last time and requesting ELCS this time. Hospital very against ELCS and not very supportive here but I have a plan. I have no desire for a VBAC tbh!
Totally non crunchy here but am considering a sling this time for the occassional time DD needs me and a buggy isn't practical. No idea on the type and tbh have resisted researching it as it may be this baby hates the sling, DD didn't like constantly being up close she liked her space, in which case I'll just have to see what happens when he (we know baby is a boy) arrives and will go from there I think!
Bump has totally popped here and had to get new clothes as they were so tight but I hate the inbetween stage where I can tell people are wondering if I am pregnant but too polite to ask!! Haha.

TinyPawz · 03/05/2018 20:30

Unhelpful that the hospital that I will be using doesn't seem to break down their stats like that

November 2018 #4
TinyPawz · 03/05/2018 20:32

Really hoping that I won't come across too much resistance to elcs request. Will find out on Thursday at booking in.

LastNightsMakeUp · 03/05/2018 20:41

@TinyPawz annoying your hospital doesn't show all their stats - I assumed they had to.

My midwife directed me to this (which I'd already found) to read before birth options appointment www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/patients/patient-information-leaflets/pregnancy/pi-birth-options-after-previous-caesarean-section.pdf
