Hi All! Joining rather late but due Nov 3rd (though I’m hoping for a little witch on 31st Oct). 3rd baby but first for a loooong time hence a rather exciting journey!

MiniMinions · 27/08/2018 14:27

Just dawned on me that tomorrow I'm 30w...10 weeks to go! Doesn't sound as far away now!! 1 week of holiday and 7 weeks of work, in theory 2 weeks before baby to chill...hmmm scary when I break it down like this haha

sarahhh1984 · 27/08/2018 14:45

I was breaking it down like this yesterday, @MiniMinions!

I'm 30 weeks on Thursday which means it'll be exactly nine weeks to go until my C-section. So from Thursday I have about seven weeks left working and then two weeks off (not sure I can describe looking after DD as being off!) before going into hospital.

Assuming Baba stays put until 1 November, mind you! Bit concerned she may show early as DD arrived at 39 weeks and my waters broke the day before. Confused

MiniMinions · 28/08/2018 20:06

It is quite daunting now approaching the smaller number of weeks to go!!

Alltheicepolesallthetime · 29/08/2018 08:50

Is it too late to join the group? Due November 17th and it's all getting a bit real!

magpie24 · 29/08/2018 19:49

@Alltheicepolesallthetime welcome! How is everyone doing? Went on a hospital tour this evening and it all seems frighteningly real now!

sarahhh1984 · 29/08/2018 20:10

Welcome @Alltheicepolesallthetime - not too late to join at all!

@magpie24 I'm doing well, thanks. How are you? Only gripe I have at the moment is the near daily Braxton Hicks. Didn't really get them with DD so this time it's especially irritating as I'm having an ELCS meaning there's no need for practice contractions. Wish someone would tell my uterus! 😂

magpie24 · 30/08/2018 18:54

@sarahhh1984 good thanks, starting to get tired again though! Also worrying about working until 38 weeks, so many people keep telling me their baby came at 37 weeks.

I've not had any braxton hicks - what do they feel like?

sarahhh1984 · 30/08/2018 19:21

@magpie24 They feel uncomfortable (or at least mine do). Kind of like your lower abdomen is tightening up and then releasing. They're not painful really, just uncomfortable. Although I think they can get more painful as you get closer to your due date. Didn't have any (that I felt) last time so can't confirm this but allegedly you can tell the difference between painful Braxton Hicks and real labour contractions.

As for baby arriving early, I wouldn't worry as it's different for everyone. DD arrived at exactly 39 weeks and I'd started mat leave at 38+4. My best friend went to nearly 42 weeks while someone else I know arrived exactly on their due date. If you're handing over to someone in work, perhaps start a working handover doc in a shared file? Keep updating it with things that need doing and then remove them as you do them. Then if you do go early you've left work as organised as you can. That's what DH is doing in case I go before my C-section date. Just really hoping this baba stays put as long as possible.

BadBadBeans · 14/09/2018 06:00

Hi ladies - seems like this thread is terribly quiet! I guess you've all gone over to Facebook?! I've just been prompted by someone coming back to post happy news on my current thread to let you know that after my miscarriage at 9 weeks in April, I've just had a successful 12 week (well, 13 week actually!) scan and am expecting a little bundle in March.

Wishing you guys safe and happy births this November! X

Mayah · 14/09/2018 11:41

@BadBadBeans that is great news! All the best with your pregnancy Flowers

I've been really quiet as I hadn't had a functioning phone for the longest time. But finally sorted that out. Currently 32 weeks, so not long left now. I have had Braxton hicks a few times, not realising what they were at first. It's just uncomfortable and not painful (so far). At first I just thought baby was in an awkward position and making my stomach feel so tight and hard.

I started maternity leave at the earliest point to squeeze a holiday in before the 36 week cut off. We just got back and now I'm at home, bored, wondering what to do with myself for the next 8 weeks Grin any suggestions are welcome

sarahhh1984 · 14/09/2018 21:40

@BadBadBeans Congratulations! So happy for you. Grin Please do pop back and let us know how you're getting on. How are you doing at the moment? Has the first trimester ickiness subsided yet?

The thread has gone quite quiet. Think it's only the non-Facebook users still here.

I'm currently 32+1 and looking forward to my ELCS in just under seven weeks. Shock Start mat leave in just under five and I can't wait. Definitely finding this pregnancy more tiring than the last but that's mostly down to an exuberant almost-17-month-old tearing around the place!

miniplumtree · 15/09/2018 22:28

Hello ladies, hope it is not too late to join the party? Has everyone gone to the FB page now?
Due on 26 Nov, it looks like going to be a breech baby, probably will be a ELCS.... Hmm

Emelene · 16/09/2018 14:30

Congratulations @BadBadBeans , that's wonderful news. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes really well xxx

miniplumtree · 16/09/2018 17:59

Is there anyone still here? Or has the bus moved to the FB page? Will it be possible for me to join the FB bus? Thank you Flowers

sarahhh1984 · 16/09/2018 20:11

Welcome, @miniplumtree! I'm booked in for an ELCS but this is down to problems when I had DD. Hopefully baby moves for you in the meantime!

There are still a few of us here - mostly those who don't use Facebook but I think the majority of the bus has gone which is why the thread can be a bit quiet. There was someone here who you could DM for a FB invite but can't remember who it was. Not on FB myself so I'm no use!

Can anyone else help?

miniplumtree · 16/09/2018 20:47

Thank you 🙏 is your DD 17 months now? Mine is 19 months, it will be 22 months difference between the two for us, scary Confused

I am not good with that chat forum, not sure how to reply to specific posts or include people’s names in reply 🤭Hmm

It seems a bit quiet here so I wonder... great to know there are still some of you around Flowers

sarahhh1984 · 18/09/2018 16:16

@miniplumtree Yes, she's 17 months now so should be about 18.5 months when baby arrives. It is scary but I think it'll be a nice age gap as they grow up together. I hope so, anyway!

To include people's names in the replies, just use the @ symbol followed by their username. Mumsnet does the rest. I'm sure someone will be able to advise you on the FB group soon though if you prefer to use that.

Is anyone else getting a bit overwhelmed with the amount of appointments they have coming up. The ones I have booked in are 34-week mw appointment next week, a consultant midwife appointment on 1 October and then a consultant appointment later the same day, flu jab on 8 October and then a ELCS info session at the hospital, also on 8 October. And I still have 36 and 38-week mw appointments and a pre-op to add to that list. Not to mention the ELCS itself!

Also, have any of the people applying for Maternity Allowance had decisions through yet? I'd not had a letter so rang today and a nice man advised me that they haven't processed my claim yet, but because the system wasn't showing my Class 2 NI payments for 2017/18 yet, I would be down for the lower rate until I'd paid them.

Problem is I have paid, it's just the stupid HMRC system won't remove the money from my Self Assessment account until 31 January next year. Guy at DWP advised to ring HMRC and see if they could pull my payment through early so that it would be present when DWP process my claim in a week or two. Called HMRC and lady said this isn't the way they normally do it, but since the money was sat in my account she'd see what they can do. Fingers crossed they can sort it as I've heard horror stories about people waiting for ages for DWP to contact HMRC before HMRC can bill them and let them pay the contributions early, and then waiting for DWP to re-process the claim. Shock

miniplumtree · 19/09/2018 22:43

@sarahhh1984 thank you for the tip! I don’t think I have many appointments to attend before the ELCS. Only got 1 or 2 consultant appointments, it is mainly to go in to sign all the paper work and consent form.

Can’t remember help/ comment on HRMC matter, got no experience 👀

Hope there are still some people around whom can add me to the FB group Smile

TheUbercornMum · 21/09/2018 07:15

Hi! Hope everyone good! DM me if you want to join Facebook. Everyone welcome. Am trying to check in with the thread frequently but things are getting busy!!

Tyrionsbitch · 21/09/2018 07:31

Feels like forever since I came on here! 32+5 now and all starting to feel very real - time is suddenly going very fast!

I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 28 weeks so I'm glad time has sped up again - looking forward to meeting my little one 😁

TheUbercornMum · 21/09/2018 13:40

Massive congratulations @BadBadBeans, fantastic news!!

miniplumtree · 21/09/2018 17:51

@theubercornmum thank you!!! I have sent you a FB friend request Flowers

magpie24 · 21/09/2018 18:12

@BadBadBeans congratulations!! So happy for you.

I have a scan on Monday to see if my placenta previa has resolved itself. Wish me luck!!
