@pipsqueak126 😩 I feel you- I'm moving house this weekend and need to plan the hole house as I'm going from a flat to a house
Not enough brain space!!

Kt2108 · 26/07/2018 11:43
  • WHOLE house 😂
pipsqueak126 · 26/07/2018 12:15

@kt2108 at least you're going from small to big and not the other way around! But yeah, brain space is an issue. Maybe have a couple of rooms that you just shut the doors on and forget about!

Countrymouse82 · 29/07/2018 17:02

@pipsqueak126 I feel you on the heartburn. I’ve never had it in my life and now it seems like everything sets it off! Currently on Morrison’s own brand fruity tablets which seems to be working. Hope yours eases up soon.

Kt2108 · 30/07/2018 09:27

For heartburn I managed to get gaviscon and some tablets (ranitidine) or something from the dr's. Worth checking!

sarahhh1984 · 30/07/2018 12:42

I'm well, thanks @Kt2108, although heat has been melting me! Good luck with the move!

Been so glad of the slightly cooler temperatures the last couple of days. Indigestion/heartburn has been quite bad too. Need to get a prescription for Gaviscon from the GP but stuck on a freelance job in Manchester for the next two weeks so not sure when I'll have the time. May just have to pay for it until then. Going to be knackered with the commute - not used to it!

@pipsqueak126 New bathroom sounds fab - although sorry to hear it means none of the chores are getting done. If it's any consolation, in my house we need to do both chores and DIY and we're failing on both counts!

MiniMinions · 31/07/2018 14:01

Also suffering with heartburn here too, bought some gaviscon today as can't speak to GP until end of the week and going away. Last time I was prescribed it in a big bottle so hopefully will get some then or something similar from them.

Hi all. When is everyone planning on going on maternity leave? I'm thinking 38 weeks. Am 26 currently and starting to feel like I'm slowing down...

Countrymouse82 · 01/08/2018 14:07

Hi @magpie24 I'm trying to leave it as late as possible as I'm self employed but probably around the 38 week mark the same as you. My work is mostly computer-based with a bit of driving/travel. I've got a 3 day event in early October (when I'll be 34 weeks) that can't be avoided so keeping fingers crossed I'll have enough energy! Are you desk-based or more active?

Kt2108 · 01/08/2018 14:13

I'm thinking 38 too! But again like below I am desk based so easy really apart from stairs!

sarahhh1984 · 02/08/2018 07:07

I think I'll be going around 37 weeks as my C-section is booked for 39 weeks. With DD my waters broke at 38+6 and she arrived at 39 weeks. I'd only started mat leave at 38+4... Don't want to tempt fate this time! 😂

Emelene · 03/08/2018 13:39

Hi ladies. I've gone for annual leave from 36 weeks then official maternity leave from 38 weeks and a few days. Smile So I've only got 9 weeks left at work! I've just started a new job (changed NHS trusts) this week so that's been interesting. And moved house last week! So super busy! How are you guys feeling?

magpie24 · 03/08/2018 22:54

@Emelene not long now! I have ten weeks left. I'm feeling ok but at 26 weeks am feeling some tiredness returning. How is everyone else?

What are everyone's movements like? I feel the baby quite a lot every day but some kicks are huge and make my tummy wobble (my DP can see!) and others are quite subtle taps. Depends on the day. Is this usual? I guess it depends on position of the baby.

TinyPawz · 06/08/2018 00:37

Has anyone else got eczema all of a sudden? Ive never had this before and now am like a dot to dot puzzle. I've looked online and it seems the condition is called atopic eruption of pregnancy (aep) and I am slowly losing the will to live. Itchy raised bumps on arms, tummy, back, legs. Thoroughly miserable. Going to try to get a doc appointment as soon as possible

Kt2108 · 06/08/2018 11:38

Me!!! 4 long weeks and it's just went. Every bump has took my tan off so I look awful!! Best thing I found to get rid of it was the aveeno cream with the navy blue top andclinique extra comfort body butter. This is after 1 walk in centre appt, 2 doctors and an emergency rush to mat assessment unit!! No one had a clue and prescribed me various things but in the end those creams worked x

Kt2108 · 06/08/2018 11:38

@TinyPawz didn't tag! See below! X

TinyPawz · 06/08/2018 16:47

@Kt2108 thank you. I'll get some of that cream tomorrow.

NoCatsHere · 07/08/2018 15:51

Hi all, also self employed so will work pretty much up to the wire. I have two kiddos in tow already so relaxing mat leave isn't really an option! I really need to tackle my tax return too, I've been putting it off!

Anyway i wanted to join the Facebook group if there was anyone still left on here that could sign me up please!

pipsqueak126 · 07/08/2018 16:30

I'm definitely feeling tired again, just as I'm entering the third trimester! Work varies, if I'm busy then I can power through but given the chance to slow down and i just crash. I'm planning to stop work on week 36, but I'm aiming to be flexible (it would be in works interest for me to finish a week later, to cover other absences, but my long commute and long days might mean it's sooner than that. Had another conversation about maternity appointments today: they want to know when each one is well in advance (2 weeks clearly isn't enough)! It's making me think that their lack of flexibility MIGHT, just might, be an indicator of what they'd be like with juggling childcare. Oh well!

pipsqueak126 · 07/08/2018 16:34

Forgot to mention, I'm also feeling lots of random movements. I read you don't need to start counting, or at least noticing a pattern, until week 28 so I've a couple of weeks to go. But it's very distracting, especially when at work! I just want to be able to lie back and enjoy the wriggles, instead of trying to get comfortable enough at my desk every time it changes position!

TinyPawz · 07/08/2018 16:50

So it turns out I have hand, foot & mouth and PEP. It is driving me bananas with itch

MiniMinions · 10/08/2018 21:30

Am hoping to keep working until October Half Term so I will be 38 weeks but there is a plan in place incase I need to stop sooner.

MiniMinions · 10/08/2018 21:31

@TinyPawz you poor thing!! Hope the itching eases soon. I got HFM when my son had it a year ago. He's had it 3 times in 3 years!!

intelligentPutty · 13/08/2018 17:15

I'm planning to start holidays at October half term. 37 weeks. And then hopefully go till c section at 39 weeks.
Fingers crossed she doesn't come too early and mess up all the plans!

sarahhh1984 · 20/08/2018 14:58

Hi all, how is everyone? Been a bit quiet here as I've been feeling rough as a bear's backside for the last couple of weeks and DD has been teething like crazy and picking up every virus going. Currently she has chicken pox.... Hmm

Just been filling out my Maternity Allowance form. More complicated this year as I do some of my self-employed work through an umbrella company but have only been with them a few weeks. Nonetheless I had to wait for them to confirm I wasn't entitled to SMP through them (even though I knew this) before I could pull everything together. Now just have to wait for the SMP1 form to arrive through the post and then I can send everything off. Just very thankful I did my Self Assessment early this year so hopefully all my National Insurance payments should be taken care of!

Baby is definitely a wriggler. She's been giving me some pretty hefty kicks and making me feel ill by getting into some weird and wonderful positions. Roll on C-section on 1 November...
