This is have got a little better since I last posted. I've been able to sleep, thanks to the medication and things are better between me and my husband. I'm less teary and feel a little more in control of things. My appetite is coming back too and I can feel the bubba moving around. Thanks for listening! Xx

pipsqueak126 · 04/07/2018 15:47

@mrsmistergav sorry to hear you're not feeling great, but good to see your last post saying the medication was helping. I had a very up and down week, something about a stag do triggered my insecurities, and on further reflection I was mostly worried about the future - how the new baby will impact on us and I was thinking very negatively. Luckily my husband and friends were very supportive. I nearly backed out of a family event on Sunday (meet the cousin's new baby!) but after taking our time getting there (my husband insisted we stop for a decaf coffee and cake!) I felt more in control, and though a lot of the discussions touched on my fears, I was glad I went and have generally felt better since. I've read up a lot about how your mental health can be affected and you did the right thing by going for help. If I hadn't perked up this week I'd have made the call to the midwife too.

SpaceRangerSpace · 04/07/2018 16:32

Hello everyone! Is there a Facebook group for the November Due Date posse? I'm due Nov 21st with DC #2

TinyPawz · 07/07/2018 07:49

I had my 20 weeks scan on Thursday but unfortunately due to baby position and high bmi the radiographer was unable to check everything. I've to go back in 2 weeks but radiographer wasn't convinced that she will be able to see all that she needs to see then either. Bmi is 38, high but not ridiculously so. Anyone else had this?

Amarettoplease · 07/07/2018 08:19

Checking in after a while, glad you found some bras @countrymouse82. I still need to invest in some non wired ones, maybe just some stretchy sleep ones for laying around the house. In this heat, being braless makes me feel sweaty. I’ve also been getting under bump sweat (damp at the top of my knickers) which isn’t a great feeling. Anyone else to make me feel better?!

Nice to see 20 week scans in full swing and going well. We had ours a few weeks ago, all good and staying team yellow. Have another consultant appointment and growth scan booked for 34 or 36 weeks to make a decision on where I can deliver due to previous shoulder dystopia issues. They’ve requested my birth notes to see exactly how long DS was stuck for as I have no clue! I really want to be in the MLU though- it’s just along the corridor from the labour ward so hoping that will be fine.

MiniMinions · 08/07/2018 15:35

Been a busy week at work and am really grateful that there is air con in the classrooms I am mainly in. Sports day was not fun in the heat!!
Not sure if I wrote but had midwife appt with VBAC midwife the other week and talked through rough plan. Was interesting to hear about DS birth notes. Will be on delivery suite again not midwife led which is fine with me and they have now got a couple of pools on that level too so she is hoping we can use one of those this time and wireless monitoring equipment so can move around more.
Hope all keeping relatively cool, am grateful I'm not 30+ weeks in this heat, living on ice lollies of an evening!!

MiniMinions · 08/07/2018 15:41

@Amarettoplease I seem to have constantly sweaty pants! So you aren't alone there but not under bump. Hope you get some answers when get notes back x

Melaniesunflower · 12/07/2018 17:38

20 week scan today, all normal. We've remained team yellow, so roll on 20 weeks time to find out!!

MiniMinions · 12/07/2018 20:13

@Melaniesunflower glad to hear all was good at the scan.

I went to Pilates yesterday, never done it before and definitely not as flexible as some of the other ladies haha but they weren't all "hippies" and seemed like a nice bunch of people hehe

Mayah · 15/07/2018 16:11

Had our 20 week scan a few weeks back, everything ticking as it should and we are team pink! Congrats on everyone's scans, and team yellows I'm excited for you all looking forward to see what you have.

Hit our first shopping mission today to Mothercare to look at prams. Had their own brand travel system in mind but after seeing and feeling it, it's no longer my favourite. But they have a Joie pram on offer including car seat and carry cot, which is The One we think. Excited to have that ticked off. Next stop: cots.

pipsqueak126 · 16/07/2018 10:45

@Mayah good luck with the shopping! I'm putting it off for a while yet, it's just to daunting!

Has anyone else had friction when it comes to having time off for appointments? I just had the third degree from my manager about my 25 week appointment - Why isn't it later in the day? Can't it be the following week? She's been supportive so far, and I told her that I always try to get the latest appointment possible (to save having to leave work too early), but for some reason she's now getting irritated by it. It smarts a little as my (male) colleague has a hospital appointment the next day and he didn't get any grief at all about that...

sarahhh1984 · 16/07/2018 12:52

Sorry I haven't been about much lately. Been up the wall with work and DD has been a handful lately learning to walk. Pleased to see so many lovely scans.

Have my appointment with the consultant this afternoon to discuss a C section. Really hoping s/he is amenable because I don't want to have to turn on the waterworks!

Been feeling really breathless lately. Am 23 weeks now and seem to remember being the same at this point last time. Think it's lungs being squashed as baby gets bigger.

sarahhh1984 · 16/07/2018 18:10

Well, there was no need to be nervous about that appointment! Consultant couldn't have been more understanding or supportive. She's booked me in for an ELCS on 1 November when I'll be 39 weeks. So relieved!

BoyInTheOven · 16/07/2018 21:32

Wow great news @sarahhh1984 I have to wait til 32 weeks to see a dr/ get my date booked in x

Amarettoplease · 16/07/2018 22:02

@pipsqueak126 sorry your manager is being difficult- are you the first pregnant person she’s managed? I’m a teacher and have managed to avoid missing much teaching- like you, booking for as late (or early) as possible etc. But it’s not always that easy and she shouldn’t be making you feel bad about it. Do you think you would get a positive reaction if you were to mention that it was bothering you, or better to ignore and book appointments for midday in future

@sarahhh1984 glad your appointment went well. I’ve been having breathless and dizzy moments for a couple of months now but I don’t think mine are related to size (although my bump is pretty high now so that might start). I’m just a fainty person- although I don’t actually faint I feel that way and make a dash for somewhere to lay in a cold clammy state until my body regulates itself. Only seems to happen when I’m on my feet in the kitchen and it’s hot- DH is used to me shouting at him to come and watch the cooker while I lay!

sarahhh1984 · 16/07/2018 22:17

@pipsqueak126 I'm self employed so not been in the same boat as you but I'm pretty sure your manager's in breach of your rights by making a big deal of this. If she does it again I'd just calmly explain to her that since your care is with the NHS you have to take what you get in terms of appointments and surely she wouldn't want you to put yourself or your baby at risk by delaying them. Then take some sick leave at a really inopportune time for her. Wink

@Amarettoplease Sorry you've been feeling dizzy and breathless too. I think mine's partly down to the heat. Don't think I've ever wished for rainy days before!

@BoyInTheOven Sorry you have to wait that long. I was surprised to get a date today, but the consultant offered me the opportunity so just thought I might as well. Have another appointment with her at 34 weeks to go over my consent etc., and I'll be getting another one with the consultant midwife to discuss birth after trauma and how the hospital can support me emotionally as I suffered PTSD symptoms after DD's birth. Seems like they're very thorough!

Emelene · 16/07/2018 23:27

Great picture @Melaniesunflower!
I'm 24 weeks today and absolutely thrilled to be over that milestone. Smile

Is anyone else looking at hypnobirthing? I've downloaded the digital pack from The Positive Birth company and it's absolutely fab, can't recommend it enough so far!

Melaniesunflower · 17/07/2018 06:45

I start s Daisy birthing class on Wednesday, really looking forward to it

pipsqueak126 · 17/07/2018 09:09

Haha, thanks for the advice guys, that made me laugh! She knows full well she can't complain but doesn't seem to be stopping her. We're a small company so 'management' is a very loose term - and no she's not managed a pregnant lady before. She's been supportive this far, but she is known to have her moments, so maybe this was just a moment. But you're right, an inopportune sick day would be most inconvenient...

I've had a couple of faint / dizzy spells too, also whilst being in the kitchen! I don't think I'll be cooking the husband breakfast again in a rush....

@Emelene I haven't investigated hypnobirthing so far but I've a book waiting to be read, which I think has a CD with it. It's been recommended by a lot of people, so I might have to dig it out and see what the fuss is about! Is it a free download?

MiniMinions · 18/07/2018 08:58

@Amarettoplease glad to hear I'm not the only one who suffers from dizzy clammy states occasionally (even before pregnancy!) I always have some glucose tablets with me incase. Am also a teacher too!

@sarahhh1984 Glad appt went well for you 😊 like you am wishing for some rainy days to try and break this heat! I'm ok in the day generally it's at night where I am waking every hour almost as no real breeze - the fan just pushing warm ughhhh air at us!

@Emelene is it a free download? I'm hoping now I've started pilates I might get with the whole breathing thing which might help - think hubby will think hypnobirthing is odd haha

NoCatsHere · 18/07/2018 13:05

I think hypnobirthing is always pretty useful, i did it with my first and although didn't get the home birth i was aiming for it was really useful in the emcs to calm and relax me.
i think the language just makes you feel powerful as a women and that you can do this, no matter what happens.

ameretto and Mini I had a few breathless spells a few weeks ago but feel better now. Someone said it might be low iron so maybe if it happens a lot get that checked out? or neck some spartone?!

Started pregnancy yoga last night and feel good for it. I didn't realise how much i really needed a good stretch!

Have a midwife appointment on monday, not sure its really necessary but hoping they'll listen to the heart beat and i at least get to hear that!

sarahhh1984 · 25/07/2018 09:05

Hello! It's been a bit quiet on here. How is everyone?

Kt2108 · 25/07/2018 09:29

@sarahhh1984 all good over here.. officially have a proper bump at 24 weeks! Spd fully set in so started physio and a bit breathless. But all good regardless

What about you?

TinyPawz · 25/07/2018 23:03

Had my follow up scan yesterday because baby position and high bmi made getting all the info for the anomaly scan difficult. Baby is grand but still none the wiser what flavour it is. I'm bursting to know. Hopefully I'll be scanned again at some point because baby is still in breech position so might be able to find out then. Other than that I am absolutely hating this heat.

pipsqueak126 · 26/07/2018 11:21

Hi to all that are left on here!

I'm getting heartburn from drinking water, anyone else finding that? Not exactly much I can do about it in this weather!

Just worked out I have 10 working weeks left before maternity leave, seems quite a big milestone!

We've just had our bathroom done, and it's quite overwhelming. It looks amazing, but dh is off work between contracts at the moment so keeps finding things to do that I don't have the brain space for. I wouldn't mind if they were household chores, but it's all Diy stuff that needs me to make a decision (whilst stuck at work) and leaves a mess afterwards. I came home from yoga last night and there was paint all over the kitchen sink, the washing needed hanging up, and the dishwasher needed emptying. That's all I cared about, not the fact that dh had been putting up shelves, mirrors, painting... And obviously he didn't get that. Oh well, just two more weeks of decorators doing our bedroom, then I can settle back in to normal, and start thinking about the nursery.
