Hey everyone. It feels like ages since I was on here. It's all starting to et a little real now isn't it. I'm 32 + 3 today.
House is in complete disarray. No kitchen 2 just plastered bedrooms and daughter sleeping in our bed every night until works done. Hope the builders get a wriggle on because I really want to get baby's room sorted and stuff all in place now.
Anyone got a date for elcs yet. Think I'll get my date in about 2 weeks time at next appt.
that day I'll have a diabetes appt. growth scan. Consultant and midwife. All in the same afternoon. !!

JennyD18 · 23/09/2018 10:18

Hi ladies, I’ve just come across this group, can I join the thread and FB page? Due 17th November, starting to get very excited now! 😃

sarahhh1984 · 23/09/2018 21:35

@magpie24 Good luck with your scan! Will keep fingers crossed! Let us know how you get on.

@intelligentPutty Sounds like a nightmare! I feel you though. No big building work going on but so many odd jobs that need sorting before baby gets here, it's a bit overwhelming so can imagine how you feel. My parents are taking DD for a couple of nights in a week or two so we can tackle everything in one go! I've had my ELCS date for quite a while. Got booked in there and then when I had my first consultant appointment back at 24 weeks. Going in on 1 November when I'll be exactly 39 weeks. Just waiting to find out if I'm booked in for morning or afternoon. Imagine that will be confirmed at my pre-op later in October.

@JennyD18 Welcome! I think to join the Facebook group you need to send a DM to @TheUbercornMum and she'll get you set up. As for the thread, we've been a bit quiet for a while but suspect we'll get a bit more lively now we're on the home stretch!

miniplumtree · 29/09/2018 04:09

@sarahhh1984 do you get to find out whether ELCS going to be in the morning or afternoon? My trust said I need to go in early in the morning then they will know Hmm
32 week today, my back is absolutely killing me Sad I have put on 10kg, dreading how much more I am going to put on in the last few weeks ConfusedConfused

sarahhh1984 · 01/10/2018 21:21

@miniplumtree My consultant told me I was booked for the afternoon back when my ELCS was arranged at 24 weeks. I've been told I'll be called the day before the op so they can confirm it so I'll know when to be nil by mouth from. Imagine it differs from trust to trust though.

I keep getting lower back pain and sharp pelvic pains. Seems to be worse after baby has a good wriggle! Hope you're feeling more comfortable now.

skatermom · 01/10/2018 22:05

Good morning!

I hope I'm allowed to post this here... I'm looking to speak to mums in the West Midlands that are due to have a baby around November this year!

I am taking a course that involves learning about how a new baby grows and develops. It entails spending an hour each week watching a baby and seeing how they change in their surroundings, noticing their little smiles, their little movements, even if it's just him or her sleeping - which they may be doing a lot of!
At the end of the observation period, I will be asked to write about what I have learned about a developing baby.

Could you allow me observe your baby when he or she arrives?
The observation will take place at your home at preferably the same time every week - a time that will be convenient for you. Some mums prefer first thing in the morning before they get ready to go about the day.

As for me, I'm patient, empathetic and non-judgemental. I know having a new baby can be a tricky time for families and I'll be present there with you for 1 hour every week. I hope knowing that will be comforting for you.

You will not have to make me any teas or coffees or worry about me in anyway. I am also not allowed to provide care for your baby or engage in family activities.

I am a mum myself, I have an enhanced DBS and I am answerable to my University.

I am looking for mums in the Sandwell and Dudley area. Please send me a message if you're interested. I can send you the information fact sheet and we can have a chat on the phone to discuss your interest further.

Thank you!

wafflesandpeas · 03/10/2018 07:13

Hi I am due 8th November, but I'll be surprised if I get that far. It's not been an easy ride so far (a few complications!).
I'm desparate for this baby to make it's arrival, been signed off sick/ using up annual leave for 3 weeks now. So I'm very bored, and every twinge makes me think " is this it?!!".

Reading back through this thread it seems that most people are on the Facebook group. Please can I join this too?

CatSneeze · 03/10/2018 10:35

Hi all, I’m still here too! 34+4 today and haven’t got a single thing ready yet. Starting to panic! @miniplumtree I have also put on 10kgs and worried about the final number.. I put it all on early on and it seems to have plateaued a bit now.. hoping to get out and about a bit more now that the weather has cooled down. It’s always the last thing I feel like doing but always seem to feel better for a walk and fresh air.
Hope everyone is doing ok and getting some sleep in! Would love to join the FB group too if someone could show me how

magpie24 · 14/10/2018 11:42

How is everyone doing? Can't believe I'll be full term on Tuesday!!

How is everyone doing with weight gain? I weight about 10st before (am 5'8) and now weight 12st 7... am concerned I won't lose that quickly but equally I have been eating fairly sensibly and healthily so maybe my body needed to put on weight?

magpie24 · 14/10/2018 11:43

*weighed

sarahhh1984 · 14/10/2018 21:08

Hi @magpie24! I'm doing well. Had a few scares with super painful Braxton Hicks and reduced fetal movement but have been checked and labour's definitely not starting early. Will be 37 weeks on Thursday and then ELCS is booked for two weeks after that. Can't believe how close it is!

So glad I have an ELCS booked. Had to have a growth scan yesterday due to the reduced movement. Baby is quite a bit bigger than DD. DD was 7lb 12oz when she was born at 39 weeks. Yesterday (when I was just 36+2) her estimated weight was 8lb ½oz! 🙀 With just over two weeks to go, that could make her a nine-pounder! Don't think my bits could take that...

miniplumtree · 14/10/2018 22:46

I am feeling so big, also getting lots lower back pain! I am trying to enjoying the last few weeks of the pregnancy as i know this is going to be my last one Wink. work has been crazy at the moment, also i try to finish some important work before my mat leave starts. My HR has been brilliant, but my line manager has been difficult Hmm.

Was in the hospital for few tests last week as the consultant wanted to rule out the possibility of blood clots, glad it was all clear, and been discharged Grin

Firefly89 · 18/10/2018 00:47

Hi everyone looks like I will be moving to the October club! Water well and truly went 1 day before 37 weeks so will be induce tomorrow less baby comes on its own! Scary!!
Good luck everyone it won't be long for you all! X

sarahhh1984 · 18/10/2018 06:14

How exciting, @Firefly89! Best of luck and I hope you have a brilliant labour no matter how it happens. Let us know how you get on.

I'm 37 weeks today and feel so ready. Half hoping baba decides to come a bit early now - as long as she gives me enough time to get to the hospital so I can still have my section I don't mind! 😂

I can now add leaky boobs to my list of pregnancy-related woes too. Going to get a syringe pack from the feeding team at the hospital so I can try colostrum harvesting before baba gets here. Apparently it can help induce labour too... 🤞

Tyrionsbitch · 18/10/2018 06:27

Eek! Good luck @Firefly89!

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 18/10/2018 13:05

Hi everyone! Hope you don't mind that I'm joining really late (due 6th Nov!) How is everyone coping? We're all on the home stretch now, just got to keep going for the last month of so! Grin

We've stupidly decided to have the only bathroom in our house redone this week, and I'm currently getting visions of having to come home after bith to no showering facilities. Hopefully everyone else is feeling more prepared than me!

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 18/10/2018 13:12

@intelligentPutty I feel you, we currently have no bathroom! I've been having really glamarous showers using a bucket of water Blush Got my fingers crossed for you that it all come together in time for little one!!

intelligentPutty · 19/10/2018 18:43

Hey @TheVeryHungryTortoise!
Yes it's hopefully finished tomorrow !!!! I'm so excited now as it really seems the end is actually in sight and can properly get nesting !! Felt the need to for a few weeks now.
All these lovely babies arriving now too!
I can't imagine showering with a bucket. It must be tricky for u!

@Firefly89 how are you doing now? X

Mayah · 21/10/2018 05:12

I find myself wishing she will come out any time now (due 7th November) but then I know I'll miss these days when I'm a walking, talking, sleepless zombie Grin. I've definitely got a very empathetic child, she's been weaning me into the sleepless nights for a few months now. I almost feel lucky when I've actually had a 6 hour sleep Grin managed 5 hours tonight, hence why I'm posting at 5am haha.

Can't wait to start hearing the news of safe deliveries in this group

Kt2108 · 21/10/2018 05:33

@Mayah 5am club over here too! I almost don't even need to look at the time cos it's always 3 or 5am and I'm awake for hours 😩😩😩

Mayah · 21/10/2018 05:40

@Kt2108 good morning haha. It's always 2:30am for me. Today I managed a lie in apparently, waking up at 4:15 Grin can't believe my luck!!

DrWhy · 21/10/2018 06:12

Hi folks,
I did join up very early on but then the thread seemed to mainly decamp to FB so I gave up on it. Just spotted it in active (at 6am!) so thought I’d come and say hello.
I’m due on the 21st and really don’t feel well prepared but I started itching about 2 weeks ago and was diagnosed with ICP on Friday so depending on how that progresses I might need to be induced any time from 37 weeks, which is 1st November- I’m meant to be at work until 7th! Panic!!
We at least have what we need from the previous baby but now he’s toddling and still up at night, combined with the ICP I am getting bigger all sleep and feeling rather sorry for myself. I hope everyone else is having a better home stretch for their pregnancies!

sarahhh1984 · 21/10/2018 07:06

Morning ladies, how is everyone? I'm not feeling great as I just woke up, felt a bit nauseous and then had to make a mad dash to the loo to throw up. Now, obviously, I'm monitoring every last twinge in case it's a sign labour is starting a bit earlier than expected.

Hoping it is that, but knowing my luck, I've caught a tummy bug. 🙄

Kt2108 · 21/10/2018 09:32

Tired, achy and period like pains but they've been on and off all week so nothing to worry about I don't think (or hope) x

Mayah · 21/10/2018 12:11

@DrWhy just had to google ICP and that sounds so uncomfortable, hope the best for you. I've had pelvic pain for the past 5 weeks and I cannot tell you how hard it makes the smallest of tasks!! Even just turning in bed is a mission.

@Kt2108 I've had the exact same, maybe 3 weeks now. I've had the odd intense period cramps and made me realise how low my pain threshold is Blush I don't know what I'll be like in the real thing haha.
