I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

Welcome back @lotbyname I downloaded expecting better too it's great! Still choosing to avoid caffeine and alcohol so far but feeling better equipped to make a decision to have it now and then once I'm further along

LeeCee · 06/05/2018 09:56

@Upsydasiy I really don't think I can hold out until 12 weeks! I'm such a bad liar too. I'm so sure it's just going to slip out! 🙈

Upsydasiy · 06/05/2018 10:09

@LeeCee I’m not the best liar 🤥 so it’s going to take massive concentration plus possibly avoiding most people 😂

SecretStash · 06/05/2018 10:14

The app is called Expecting Better?
I just looked and can’t find it. I have an iPhone.

LeeCee · 06/05/2018 10:27

Hey @SecretStash no sorry it's a book. I downloaded it to my iBooks have a look there was only £1.99!

SecretStash · 06/05/2018 10:35

I see!

charlybs · 06/05/2018 11:11

I have a bbq tomorrow with my NCT group and all the babies... I'm well known for being a boozehound and we all like a beverage especially in the sun so I have to think of a good excuse 😂

laurs2309 · 06/05/2018 11:12

Twice last night for the peeing, then struggled to get back to sleep with dh snoring and the heat so I'm very tired and grumpy today! Spent this morning clearing the spare room so I can shove him in there for a few nights!! Maybe that'll spur him on to lose some weight so the warthog snoring eases 😂

Still planning to hold out until 12 weeks to tell people but it's really hard to keep it quiet. Had to turn down prosecco at our friend's last night so I reckon she has probably got an inkling. I hate keeping secrets, especially something like this as we're really lucky and have got lots of people that will be over the moon for us!

loopdeelou · 06/05/2018 11:30

We're not planning on telling people for as long as possible. It's proving tricky. We had a family party yesterday and my mum was repeatedly offering my wine so I had to dodge that one. Was also dying sitting out in the sun and fell asleep early in the evening and my brother came in and was asking why I'm so tired and if I'm sick 😂. We've got friends visiting today who said it'll be a great day for drinking in the sun because of no work tomorrow. Not sure what lie I'm going to use today!... I'm so blooming tired I think I'd rather ditch the socialising and sleep!

Antibiotics for some reason or detoxing are always good ones. In this weather I'd just be inclined to say it's far to hot to drink you'll just fall asleep!

We'll not tell anyone until the 12 weeks scan, just because my MIL got so over emotional when ds1 was born early and was poorly, I don't think I could cope involving her early and something happening. It'd be too much of an ordeal for her....

I was getting worried about not really have informed any symptoms so far, but then had to go and stand in the garden while the dog ate this morning because the smell of his food made me want to vomit!

Aph413 · 06/05/2018 11:49

I joined the other thread but figured I'd join here too. Another positivr frer here today. Very concerned because they are a little faint. Clear and coloured but faint.
Having fun with ridiculous amounts of bloating, heartburn and some very light cramping every now and then.
I'm 4+1 and due the 11th January.
Anyone else struggling to take it all in and believe they're actually pregnant?

LeeCee · 06/05/2018 13:44

Welcome @Aph413 yes definitely doesn't seem real yet.

My only symptom is still the bloat - slightly sore boobs. Have to keep reminding myself that three positive tests and no AF mean it has to be true!

Losing the will to not tell my parents already! Think I may cave and tell them but swear them to secrecy. They'll be so excited I really want to share the news!

jellyfish2210 · 06/05/2018 14:12

We have now told both sets of parents. But they have all been sworn to secrecy. We want to wait until 8 weeks to tell siblings then 12 weeks to tell everyone else. Although I have to tell my boss this week as I work in a high risk environment but he has to keep it to himself. Bursting with the need to tell everyone we meet though!

We were in John Lewis today just looking, I know it's way too early but it was nice to go and have a look and start thinking about budgeting for everything we need. DH looked so chuffed with himself when he took one of the prams for a test walk

LG93 · 06/05/2018 15:12

Welcome @aph413!

We're not planning on telling anyone until 12 weeks as I'm high risk for a variety of reasons. In law's over today and they opened champagne to toast our new house - had to switch glasses with hubby when they were our the room! This is going to be a long 8 weeks of hiding it!

Definitely doesn't feel real here either aph. I've been building up to this for a year of TTC and expected to feel so excited and different and a rush of emotion, but I feel like I did before, just with cramps. I'm not sure when it's going to feel real - worrying there's something wrong with me! Maybe it's just self preservation as it's still so early.

Aph413 · 06/05/2018 15:30

I'm glad I'm not the only one. We were trying for 8 months for this. I'm just really worried now because my lines aren't the darkest, although DH did point out I have 6 positive tests in 2 days I'm allowed to believe it.
@LG93 Two of my friends knew before my husband because I was freaking out convinced I was seeing things and didn't want to get my hopes up. I do wish now I hadn't said anything

Upsydasiy · 06/05/2018 15:50

I get the note feeling real. I've been building this up in my head throughout the 9 months we've been TTC.

At the moment I'm just bloated and feeling sick, for me I'm worried the sickness is going to give the secret away I am really struggling! spent most of the day at the porcelain throne!

Laburna · 06/05/2018 16:46

I'm feeling slightly more confident that it's actually happening, finally got a second positive that was really strong....definitely something to be said for buying good tests 😂

@upsydaisy do you think it's just 'normal' sickness, or is it bad enough to see if the doctor can give you something to help? Touch wood, I'm only feeling sick at the moment because I'm so hungry. I'm hoping it follows the pattern of my first and goes away in the 2nd trimester!

Upsydasiy · 06/05/2018 17:13

@Laburna I hoping it’s just normal sickness but nothing to compare it with! So far it had just been in the evening but today it’s been particularly bad 😩

CobaltRose · 06/05/2018 18:34

Hi everyone. My first pregnancy sadly ended in a MMC in April. I had an ERPC on the 11t and stopped bleeding on the 21st. I had a negative pregnancy test on the 26th and ovulated on the 27th, which would make me 9DPO today.

So yeah, still super early, but I just took this FR and, I may be going mad, but I think I see a VERY VERY faint line? I need another pair of eyes! If I am indeed pregnant again (and I hope with everything in me that I am), I'll be due in mid/late January.

Thanks everyone Grin

peaches1991 · 06/05/2018 18:48

If anyone comes up with a solid 'no drinking' excuse this weekend please share it with me - I have a wedding where I'm a bridesmaid when I'll be 8 weeks and I have no idea how i'm going to cover it up! There's going to be a lot of drinking and the bride will definitely notice...

charlybs · 06/05/2018 19:27

@CobaltRose can you go on a laptop, open the picture in Paint (or the Mac equivalent) and invert the colours? I have seen people do that before and it's much easier to tell if there's a line. Wishing you lots of luck x

SecretStash · 06/05/2018 19:32

When I was taking metronidazole for a tooth abscess I had a very good excuse not to drink. It’s the one antibiotic that makes you hurl like the exorcist if you even smell alcohol.
Not the boring “I’m taking penicillin” excuse, but a very genuine excuse.
Ironically, I don’t think you can take that particular antibiotic when pregnant.

LeeCee · 06/05/2018 21:25

Evening girls hope you're getting away with the tee totalling!

My bloat is gone and I have feck all symptoms now. I know I should be glad I'm not sick or sore but of course I'm worried that I don't feel anything! 🙈 anyone else feeling normal?

LeeCee · 06/05/2018 21:26

@CobaltRose I see a faint one! Fingers crossed for you. Are you retesting in the morning?

CobaltRose · 06/05/2018 21:43

@charlybs, I've put this filter on it. You can definitely see a line now but I keep telling myself it's an EVAP line... Sad

@LeeCee, I'll definitely be testing in the morning with FMU!
