I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

@Twirlywooer and @Secretstash, sending you both support! I hope once you tell your DHs they come around and are excited as well. I'm sure it's been super hard on all of you. Sorry for your previous losses Flowers

kitcatdog · 04/05/2018 14:44

Hi I'm going to cautiously join. I got my bfp this morning with a FRER I'm only between 7-10 dpo so very early. I keep thinking its not real. If it's sticky I'll be due 15 Jan with my first. :o

Upsydasiy · 04/05/2018 17:05

tentatively joining, I got my BFP a couple of days ago, AF is officially due tomorrow so scared I won't have a sticky bean!

arranged my booking today, midwives make my due date 5/01/18 but I make it 11/01/18 as I have a cycle longer than 28 days so who knows what my dates are!

so excited/scared!!

congratulations everyone

Hi all, I'm on the other group on the Pregnancy board but hope I can join here too! I'm 4+1, got my BFP on Wednesday morning Smile . This is our first and I basically don't know what I'm doing but my DH has 3 much younger sisters so he has some idea thankfully!

blorgzorb · 04/05/2018 19:22

Another person cautiously joining in! Due date jan 6th according to a calculator I found online.
I don't have a GP at the moment - didn't sign up when I moved and nearly about to buy a house in a different area so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next Confused

Twirlywooer · 04/05/2018 19:54

@blorgzorb I moved when I was about 10 weeks pregnant with DD1. I just went to the doctor as soon as I moved and my booking in appointment was booked for 2 weeks later with my scan the following week. It was all fine. Unless you've got any particular worries or health issues you don't really need to go any sooner.

blorgzorb · 04/05/2018 20:25

Thanks Twirly!

LeeCee · 04/05/2018 23:32

Welcome @blorgzorb & @peaches1991

Hope everyone is doing well and the knicker checking isn't too frantic!

I'm so bloated tonight I feel like I might burst! Gets so much worse in the evenings. Am so uncomfortable!

But the bean is hanging on in there FC for you all too x

ohhellojo · 05/05/2018 07:57

Hello! I’m on the other board too, but I really like seeing how others are doing/what’s normal so I’m hoping to learn a lot/share with you guys!

Currently just over 5 weeks, due around the 1st Jan. Booked in with the midwife on the 25th of this month. We’ve not told many people yet, so hearing the receptionist say ‘congratulations’ over the phone was awesome :) little wins!

Anyone know what actually happens during your midwife appointment? This is our first child 👶🏼

peaches1991 · 05/05/2018 08:13

@ohhellojo I felt the same when the GP said congrats! I haven't told anyone apart from DH and even though I'm desperate to we're going to try to keep it quiet until 12 weeks. I'll have to tell Work to get the time off for the scan and me and DH work together so I think it's going to be pretty obvious to most people when we both have the same leave of absence!

stegosauruslady · 05/05/2018 08:42

Good morning! We don't have to be heavily pregnant in the summer! Yay!

Two BFPs in two days, so I have now managed to convince myself that this is real!

This will be baby number four for me (baby number one for DP...super exciting!), my other three are all girls and are 11, 9 and 6. DP is an awesome step father, I'm so excited to be doing this with him Grin

Laburna · 05/05/2018 11:57

Hi,
I'm joining too, due about 11th apparently, but I think it's probably later than that :)

helbel42 · 05/05/2018 12:58

Hello all, jumping on board. I'm 5+4 today. This is our first, only started trying in Jan so it's been very quick. DH hasn't got his head round it, doing his best to be supportive bless him but I was the one pushing for it and telling him it would likely take about a year! On holiday at the min for a friends wedding. Told one friend who's coming so she can help cover the not drinking etc. I've got morning sickness pretty bad but weirdly it really is just mornings, feel like a different person after lunch but of course that's when the bloat sets in and it's really really bad, I'm huge by bed time! Not told many people as the risk is still really high but bursting to tell for many reasons but mostly so I can let my bloat free and not have people thinking I've just piled it on!! x

mondler · 05/05/2018 16:05

Hi guys, I'm also on the pregnancy board but wanted to say hi! I'm 5 weeks and it still hasn't sunk in. I'm mainly bloated, hungry and cramping like period pains. We had an early GP appointment due to being high risk but they just weighed me and took blood pressure and getting referred to midwife. We aren't telling anyone apart from parents just yet as terrified it won't be sticky bean.

It's all just so crazy, exciting but scary!

Good luck all

emdoc · 05/05/2018 19:12

Hi to all the new arrivals and congrats! I have my first GP visit on Monday, which I made because of an upcoming holiday the week after next. I’ve definitely already been experiencing some nausea so I wanted to get some meds to bring and have on hand in case it gets really bad! Maybe they’ll arrange my scans too.

Of course today I feel less nauseated which is making me worry 🙄 Boobs are still very sore, crampy lower abodomen, bloating not too bad yet!

Hope everyone else is feeling well!

LeeCee · 05/05/2018 23:00

I haven't made my GP appointment yet. Actually don't have a regular GP due to moving office location and home a couple of times in the last few years. Need to just pick one and make the booking though!

I assume there's little they will do or say except booking you in for 12 week scan?

Wondering if I should try to find a time that DH can come if we'll have some official blood test result or "big moment" of the pregnancy that he'd like to be there for. What do you think?

LeeCee · 05/05/2018 23:02

Welcome @mondler @helbel42 @helbel42 @Laburna congrats on the BFPs!

@emdoc I have that lower cramping now - bloating has eased a little. Every new sensation is scary in a way! But then if I had no symptoms I would probably be more scared!

Knicker checking continues 😂

Upsydasiy · 06/05/2018 07:26

With everyone on the knicker checking front 😂

I’m so bloated and suffering pretty badly with nausea and vomiting (particularly in the evenings)

Someone asked about the booking appt (I’m a midwife) it’s the appt that you officially get booked into the maternity system, lots of information re: healthy eating, folic acid, screening tests, how your antenatal care will be set out. They also take your medical history, history about previous pregnancies (and births) any relevant family history. Plus bloods to check your blood group, baseline iron level and platelets, and screening bloods. Then they dip your urine and send a sample off, do your blood pressure.

I’m literally still so scared. I keep having moments it’s really sunk in and others it doesn’t feel real IYKWIM

LG93 · 06/05/2018 08:24

Hi all, due 17th Jan so still very early days here. Doesn't feel real!!

stegosauruslady · 06/05/2018 09:08

Morning everyone!

How many times did we all get up to pee in the night? Twice for me and I never usually have to.

I'm looking after my friend's toddler today so we will spend the day in the park I think. I'll probably get us a picnic.

What are you doing about telling people? We are telling people early, as we see them. I'm a bit worried about telling some of our closest friends though as they have been trying for two years now.

SecretStash · 06/05/2018 09:21

Twice but only because a bunch of teens screeching outside my window woke me up. He swines.

LeeCee · 06/05/2018 09:26

Welcome @LG93 and congrats!

Just up the once to pee & knicker check last night. Still pregnant!

Wishing the days away so that I can start to feel this is real!

We aren't telling people until 8+ weeks. I'm seeing my parents tonight and it will be so hard! They will be so excited! I can't wait to share the news

Upsydasiy · 06/05/2018 09:43

we aren't telling people til as late as possible, hoping to hold out to 12 week scan!

my best friend knows (and strangely enough had woke up early hours of the morning I told her to tell her DH I was pregnant, so was shocked and spooked when I told her)

we will probably end up telling my parents after our early pregnancy scan as I've spoke to my mum a lot with TTC so she might guess.

its so strange knowing something so big and not telling anyone, I want to shout it from the rooftops!

lotbyname · 06/05/2018 09:49

I return! Still so angry! And why oh why do I keep putting black knickers on? Grin

socks - yup. DS1 has a keloid scar on his leg. I have vague hospital memories of putting sock on him and it looking a little tight when I took it off. That must have been about 6 hours old though. I guess their skin is still sensitive. This time I'm no socking for first 3 days. Never heard i mentioned anywhere untill I googled it afterwards

Also really rated Expecting better.
