I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a lovely day and not suffering too much with sickness and nausea!
So I went for an early scan today at the epu and to be honest it wasn't the best of news!
Saw a heartbeat which was a plus and fetal pole is measuring correctly but gestational sac is small 😔 And it's very rare to have a good outcome from this so I'm now in a waiting game for 2 weeks until I can have another scan and the gestational sac hopefully catches up with the fetal pole otherwise the baby will run out of room 😔 And that will be the end 😔 Really wasn't expecting this so I'm shocked and I cried all the way home! And to top it of my other half is working away for 2 weeks so I'm completely on my own and he feels awful he can't be here.
I am going to hold on to a small amount of hope because otherwise I will just get into a right state!
Xx

Hi @Ozzyseb flipping heck bless you. Yes your partner being away must be hard. Make sure you fill your days with things to keep you busy and spend some time with friends and family to take your mind off the what ifs. Hopefully it will be one of those things and all will turn out fine. I'm having a bit of a worry myself this evening. Some brown discharge all day today... rang EPAU who have made me appointment for tomorrow. I'm 7+2 so hoping they will be able to see something and hope everything is ok. I didn't get any spotting with my 1st so a bit worried but can't do anything about it so just got to wait and see. Hope everyone else is well xx

Kate0706 · 04/06/2018 18:19

@ozzyseb hi, what a horrible time your having right now! I agree with keeping yourself busy and trying your best not to worry too much if you can although i know it can’t be easy. Keeping everything crossed for you that all is ok xx

Kate0706 · 04/06/2018 18:21

Hi @gemsparkle84, I had a similar thing at 7 weeks, brown discharge, then on wiping got quite a bit of blood and I freaked out. Went for an early scan a few days later and everything was fine they said just normal spotting, so here’s hoping it’s the same for you xx

jennac · 04/06/2018 18:24

@Ozzyseb sending you lots of love, so hard that you’re on your own through it too. Keep strong, sending you lots of love and strength. How far along are you? I really hope it resolves somehow.

gemsparkle84 · 04/06/2018 18:29

Thanks @Kate0706 that's reassuring xx

Ash1992 · 04/06/2018 18:31

Has anyone had anti sickness medication off there midwife ? Or what had she given for vomiting nausea

gemsparkle84 · 04/06/2018 18:32

@Kate0706 I see you're a couple of weeks ahead of me glad everything turned out well for you. Similar... felt a bit wet so had a peak and dark brown discharge on my knickers, put a party liner on which had the tiniest amount on but I've had quite a bit more discharge on wiping. I think if it had just been the first instance I might have left it but as it's kept going I won't be able to relax so best to go see someone. Xx

Soontobemumof4 · 04/06/2018 18:42

Hope everyone who's feeling rough gets some rest tonight (I'm useless at tagging people when I'm on my phone sorry)

I'm finding this pregnancy everything is so much worse than the previous ones, cramps, sickness, nausea, aches etc only thing that's not is tiredness, I'm not too bad on that score atm. My anti sickness tablets aren't helping so back to the doctors this week.

I've got my booking appointment next Monday when I'll be 8 weeks then scan will come through after that.

kitcatdog · 04/06/2018 18:49

@Ozzyseb sorry to hear that. Keeping yourself busy and keeping close family close by. I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you.

kitcatdog · 04/06/2018 18:51

@Pyxie how are you finding it? Any meat/etc cravings? I feel like my body is taking the micky out of me atm.

Frenchiemamax · 04/06/2018 19:09

To the vegan ladies, I’m vegetarian and all I’ve been craving is chicken! ☹️☹️

kitcatdog · 04/06/2018 19:14

@frenchiemax it's so rubbish, isn't it. 😔

Frenchiemamax · 04/06/2018 19:18

@kitcatdog it so is. I feel like nothing will scratch the itch like meat will! Hoping it will pass soon (for you too!)

Kate0706 · 04/06/2018 19:36

@ash1992 I’m seeing my
Midwife on Wednesday and intend on asking about antisickness medication I’m sure I’ll be told no as I’m not actually being sick but the feeling sick is killing me off! It’s all the time non stop! If I eat I feel sick if I don’t I feel sick, so I feel your pain :(

Ozzyseb · 04/06/2018 19:47

Thank you everyone! I'm hoping more then anything it all works out but know that if it doesn't then it just wasn't meant to be.

@jennac baby is measuring 6+4 and gestational sac 5+6 and obviously gestational sac should be measuring bigger then baby. But all we can do is wait and see. And maybe I'm in the 20% where it all works out for this certain situation xx

Pyxie · 04/06/2018 20:05

Ozzyseb sorry about your scan, and such shit timing too. Really hope it all works out okay for you.

kitcatdog luckily I'm not craving anything non vegan and didn't last pregnancy either, I mostly just wanted to mainline sugar 😄 Hope you can find something to satisfy your craving, you too Frenchiemamax

ohhellojo · 04/06/2018 20:30

@ozzyseb your scan went way better than mine! You at least have a heartbeat and I hope your bean sticks!

I went for my scan today, I’m meant to be 9+5, there was a tiiiiny bean (about 2mm so like measuring about 4 weeks), no heartbeat and very little chance of it continuing. As it’s my first scan they can’t give me the drugs to encourage a miscarriage until another scan in a weeks time, which is shitty as. Basically I’m waiting about this week to go back, be told this pregnancy isn’t viable which we already know, and then have a miscarriage.

I’m obviously massively gutted, but it wasn’t meant to be for us. The OH is completely devastated, but I’m trying to look at the positives - fingers crossed next time it’ll be third time lucky.

Wishing all of you the absolute best of times over the next several months and I hope you have a super exciting 2019 with your little bambinos :) x

Pyxie · 04/06/2018 20:35

@ohhellojo I'm so sorry, what a shit situation to be in. I hope it's all straight forward and fingers crossed for third time lucky x

SP84 · 04/06/2018 20:55

Really sorry to hear the awful scan news @ohhellojo - hope the next week or so goes as well as it can do. Sorry too to hear your v difficult news @Ozzyseb Flowers

Sounds like a lot of folk are struggling at the moment x

I've got my booking appointment with midwife on Wednesday when I'll be 8+6. I POAS randomly this morning as was paranoid I'm having a phantom pregnancy and dreamt it all up 5 weeks ago... Definitely still +ve though (phew, haha!).

No date for first scan yet, and now feeling worried / nervous about how it will go.

Ash1992 · 04/06/2018 21:05

@kate0706 it's awful isn't it I find it more so afternoon and night

Frenchiemamax · 04/06/2018 21:22

So sorry ladies who have had sad news today xxx

Leliana · 04/06/2018 22:42

So sorry for your bad news, @ohhellojo and @ozzyseb Flowers Lots of handholding and gin. Hope you both have plenty of RL support.

Interesting to hear others' cravings. I went shopping while hungry tonight and spent £25 on chocolate and crisps (I was really craving Kinder Bueno and ready salted crisps). I came home, ate dinner (a small portion of chicken korma), and am now feeling very full and haven't been near my junk food! I see Kinder Bueno in my stars for breakfast tomorrow, however...

emdoc · 05/06/2018 01:32

So sorry for the bad news on the scans, @ohhellojo and @ozzyseb. Flowers. I will keep everything crossed for both of you that it turns out ok somehow! Sending lots of love.

I also like hearing others' cravings and aversions! I'm vegetarian and so far have not craved meat, now I'm quite curious if I will! I mostly want bland, carby, unhealthy food haha. No sickness for me x 2 days! Maybe I'm getting over the worst of it? I really hope so.

Ash1992 · 05/06/2018 06:47

@emdoc that's so good you have no sickness how many weeks are u
