@NoCatsHere. So sorry to hear about your losses. Thank you to you and @Teaisnecessary for your advice.

I think I will book the scan. £50 is not a lot of money for the peace of mind it will give me. Better than being £50 better off and worrying continuously for the next five-and-a-bit weeks.

KW1987 · 20/03/2018 10:51

Thanks @BadBadBeans! I’m trying to be more positive about it today! The test told me I’m pregnant and I have no other reason to believe otherwise so I just need to go with the flow!

Is anyone on here trying to, not necessarily loose, but manage their weight whilst pregnant on here? I’ve really struggled with my weight over the past 6 months and reallt can not afford to put on the 3-4 stone I put on last time! I was thinking about keeping track of my calories loosely but not sure where to set them? Or maybe just concentrate on 3 healthy meals a day! Doesn’t help that I’m ravenous!!!

MrsFTigalar · 20/03/2018 10:56

Morning all, I've been off for a few days with hdeous nausea and indigestion. Which I never get. Add to that the bloating which is making me look about 6 months gone I swear and I'm just a delight to be around.

5+1 here today, but I'm still horridly anxious.

@Lastnightsmakeup from what I've read it's totally normal. It must be an awful feeling though.

I had to do an electronic self referral to midwifery this time, which is totally different to when I had DS. My booking in appointment was at 8 weeks I think last time, so I'm hoping that'll still be the same ish.

BadBadBeans · 20/03/2018 11:02

@NoCatsHere I'd be very interested to hear about your experience of and your thoughts on VBAC!

Hello everyone. Please can I join?

BFP last Monday, 12th March. Have been trying since November using Clue app for fertility days, every ovu tests available and fertility lubes etc.
I am due around 17th/18th November, already have DD age 8 - cannot wait to tell her.
I have my first scan booked for Saturday, 31st March, and Harmony test for 21st April (I will be 10 weeks and 3 days - the reason for Harmony test is my age - turning 37 in May).
Very very tired - going to bed before 10pm but with multiple trip to the loo waking up at 6 very tired and very sore boobs.
I also suffer from hypothyroidism (only found out in Feb and have been on hormones since then). Have already seen GP and my does have been increased.
I have self referred myself to UCLH - waiting for the letter.

How is everyone doing?

NoCatsHere · 20/03/2018 11:40

@badbadbeans yes no problem, ok so first i wanted home birth but although i did well at home i didn't progress enough so mw that was with me sent me to hospital and despite more hours and water broken and a drip to induct me i never made it past 8cm and so they gave me an emcs. i would say despite all of this i found the whole experience ok, i healed really well and had no problem.s obviously disappointed not to get what 'i'd planned' but hey ho.
Then with no2 i wasn't sure what to do, but they seemed to be no reason why i couldn't have a natural birth, everyone was happy to let me mull it over and not make a decision early on. it seemed reading through my notes that because i went into labour naturally there was a good chance i could do it. i made the decision that i would try for a vbac, but no way was i being induced, so if it got to that stage of me needing it, either because i was so late, or during labour then i wanted them to give me a csection straight away, no quibbles.

anyway i had a sweep and went into labour that afternoon, it was a quick and good labour, unfortunately my ds ended up in the scbu for 10 days after due to birth complications, but i'm not sure if i can blame the vbac entirely for that...he is fine now though.

Despite all of this i'd be tempted by a natural birth again, mainly because i don't fancy the idea of a section with 2 kids in tow. however i've had two not straightforward births and it would also be nice to have something just go to plan!! its always going to be a tough decision. do your research and absolutely stand by it, don't ever be pushed around.

Sorry this was so long!!!

sarahhh1984 · 20/03/2018 11:41

@KW1987 I asked mw about healthy eating the other day as all I've been able to eat is Coco Pops, salt and vinegar crisps and cheese on toast. 🙈 She just said to me to not worry at this stage and to focus more on healthy eating once trimester two hits!

If this baby grows the same way DD did then come mid-second trimester my food intake will dramatically go down anyway. DD squashed my stomach so much I could only manage small handfuls of food! 😂

Potkettleblack2 · 20/03/2018 11:41

I've my booking appointment on Weds 28th when I'll be exactly 8 weeks, then scan booked for 12 weeks exactly. I might book a private scan at 9 weeks-not sure yet.

I don't feel pregnant. I have a horrid feeling it's not going to be ok. I've had two easy pregnancies before, but even my boobs aren't particularly sore. I'm stressed at the moment about other things and don't know if that's why I don't feel anything....it's a very strange feeling.

sarahhh1984 · 20/03/2018 11:43

By the way, thanks for updating the spreadsheet @olderthanyouthink!

Saraswati · 20/03/2018 11:47

@toasterstruddle I love your name Grin we're going to sicily just for a week. Should be nicely warm but not too hot, lots of great archaeology there to bore my 3 year old with!

DO has mentioned a weekend away just the two of us before the baby comes which would be nice, he wants to go to Berlin but if be too sad not to be able to drink the beer! Mentioned homebirth to him and he was predictably horrified, might have a battle on my hands there but if like to at least try and go for it. He's worried about our parquet Hmm

Saraswati · 20/03/2018 11:48

DP not DO Confused

sarahhh1984 · 20/03/2018 12:03

Just called hospital and have booked for a private reassurance scan on 6 April when I should be about 9+2. I that's just over two weeks away and then I'll only have three weeks until my 12-week scan. Hopefully should reassure me in the meantime and stop me fretting!

mummyfromnw · 20/03/2018 12:03

@Saraswati yay for Sicily. I am taking my DD (8) in May for half term (booked it ages ago). Unfortunately DP cannot join us, but depending on how I feel it can change.
I was a single mother for nearly 6 years and travelled a lot only myself and DD. It will be our last mummy and DD trip.

Saraswati · 20/03/2018 12:13

@mummyfromnw aw that sounds lovely, you must be very close. I was on my own with my DD (bastard ex husband disappeared before she was born). We just moved in with DP in January although we've been together fornover 2 years so DD was used to him! This baby was a big surprise Confused but I hope me and DD will continue to be as close. Does your DD know yet?

mummyfromnw · 20/03/2018 12:52

@Saraswati thank you. Yes we are very close (DD does have contact with her dad as she spends with him every second weekend and she has 2 younger brothers from his side).
We would love to tell DD now but there is still this uncertainty until I am 12 weeks. I will definitely be showing by then lol. She will be super excited. Have you told your DD? How old is she?

Saraswati · 20/03/2018 12:58

@mummyfromnw my DD is 3, baby is due a month before shes 4. I won't be telling her until 12 weeks, I don't think she'd understand if something went wrong and she has no concept of time so it'll cut down the wait a bit for her!

Rose900 · 20/03/2018 13:16

Hello ladies! Smile interested to follow this club too. Xx

FruitandNutty · 20/03/2018 14:26

@teaisnecessary @lastnightsmakeup @toasterstrudle thanks ladies.. I went to the GP who just said I’m still early (4+4), she felt stomach and said all felt soft/okay (yeah I don’t have abs I thought haha). But do you know how the midwife thing works? She said they won’t even see me until I’ve missed two periods is that true?

dontquit · 20/03/2018 14:43

Hi @potkettleblack I feel just like you. Felt like this with the pregnancy I Mc'd at 7 weeks..like it wasn't going to last so now I feel that way again I'm worried. Was super excited about the 2 pregnancies with my dds and all went well. Part of me thinks it's just because it's number 3 and I'm worried I'm pushing my luck!
Had Gp apt last week and she offered to book me in for early scan but I declined mainly because I work next to scan unit and will def be spotted and don't want Work knowing yet but also because I don't want bad news!! Have this awful feeling I'll get to 12 wk scan and there will be no heartbeat.

LastNightsMakeUp · 20/03/2018 14:43

@fruitandnutty the gp receptionist booked me into the midwife at just past 8 weeks so I suppose in theory 28x2 would be about 3 normal length cycles. I think 8 weeks is about standard. I think usually if the midwives are not running clinics out of your gp practice the gp should refer you to the midwives.

Don’t worry about lack of abs... just a lovely post section shelf over here🤷‍♀️

*sorry I meant 2 normal cycles

Dandybelle · 20/03/2018 14:45

Hello, Can I join you?

I'm 5 weeks with number 2, my DD will be 4 in August. I won't tell her til 12 weeks either, she'll be so excited she's baby obsessed.

Very nervous to have more than one child to think about! But I'm sure it'll all work out fine Smile
