So last night I had javelin arse all evening, and today I've had this hideous thing that feels like pins and needles in my perinuem on and off all day. It's doing my head in! I guess it's stuff moving around down there but I'm not enjoying it!

Welcome newbies!

wejammin · 07/04/2018 20:02

I've just googled and apparently it's called "lightening crotch" and it's something to do with nerves in the cervix.

Lightening crotch and javelin arse. Happy days.

TinyPawz · 07/04/2018 20:09

I'm afraid to ask but what is javelin arse? Have I missed a memo?

wejammin · 07/04/2018 20:12

Grin it's a very unique kind of pain that some women get during a period (or in pregnancy for me too sadly) that feels like a large sharp object is being poked up your bum. When I'm on my period I get it when i need a poo, but during pregnancy I just get it randomly.

BunBunMum · 07/04/2018 20:13

Welcome to the newbies. I think someone on my group from DS called the pains ‘fanny daggers’! Haven’t heard the other terms before!

gemmaloutal · 07/04/2018 20:42

Just joined! Due 19th Nov. First experience of fanny daggers last night, took my breath away and not in a good way. Hope you don't mind me crashing in...

LastNightsMakeUp · 07/04/2018 20:50

I'm glad it's not just me, I had 'stabby vagina' pains in my last pg and everyone I asked about it looked at me like I'd gone mad!

I was a size 10 pre dd and am back to that now (gained 3 stone during pg) but the pouch barely changed when I lost the weight. My friends pouch has just gone and she's 5 years post section and very fit and slim. Ideally I'd have lost another half a stone but knowing we were ttc I didn't want to deprive myself of booze and sweets so thought I'd worry about it afterwards! Definitely don't want to gain too much and add to it. I was told that my muscles separated from my abdominal wall by a trainer so maybe that's why!?

Hello newbies!

MiniMinions · 07/04/2018 21:13

yep Fanny Daggers was what my old group called them too!

Hello to all the newcomers 😀

GreenMeerkat · 07/04/2018 21:37

I read somewhere that the cut from a c section changes the structure of the fat cells so they flop rather than standing rigid and are virtually impossible to shed. I assume if you are slim and have very little fat there then it wouldn't affect you too much. I'll have had 3 sections after this baby so my pouch will be ridiculous. Planning on getting lips freeze when I'm back to normal weight again!

GreenMeerkat · 07/04/2018 21:38

Lips freeze?? Oooer. I meant lipo freeze!

AiredaleFan · 07/04/2018 22:00

Yep, I know those pains as fanny daggers too. Had them the other week in the supermarket. Had to crouch down and pretend I was examining he bottom shelf until it passed. Agony.

TinyPawz · 07/04/2018 22:26

Can't say I have had these before, something to look forward to I guess 🤦‍♀️

wejammin · 07/04/2018 23:10

Is it bad that I'm glad I'm not alone in the fanny dagger experience?! I remember getting the same sort of feelings with DCs once they were low down at the end of pregnancies but never this early on.

LastNightsMakeUp · 07/04/2018 23:22

@wejammin apparently it's your 'round ligaments stretching' ..... I had them early first pg but none so far... I guess they didn't ping back so are stretched just fine 😂

TheImprobableGirl · 07/04/2018 23:31

I have either:
a) had no fanny daggers
B) fanny is now more like an empty cavern and I can no longer feel the daggers.... could be stalagmites in there for all I know

Hey chatter-boxes, NEW THREAD HERE

Making use of my inability to sleep at a normal time. Felt awful, sticky and fuzzy-headed, yesterday afternoon so got home and went straight to bed. Asleep by 8 so have been awake for a couple hours now. I took my vitamins when I woke up but now I keep burping and they are fishy Envy
