@Potkettleblack2 that sounds dreamy! I had an M&S salad followed by Pringles

Katy16 · 19/03/2018 21:05

@Magpie24 I'm sorry to hear you are still spotting. Mine has changed from light brown to more red I'm afraid so I don't think this one's going to stick. :( GP said he can't refer me for a scan as I'm too early so all I can do is wait and see and do another test in a week or so. I totally agree, it's such a emotional rollercoaster. I don't think I've gone from crying to happy to crying again so many times in 1 week before

mrsd1103 · 19/03/2018 21:18

Hello
Can I join you all? Got my bfp Saturday, according to Glow I'm 4+6 still not sunk in that we're having #2

Magpie24 · 19/03/2018 21:40

@Katy16 it's just so stressful isn't it. Fingers crossed for you. I've read so many threads on spotting and it is so common - not that that makes it any less unnerving. My next scan isn't until after Easter. Hope you're feeling ok and hope everything sticks for you.

dontquit · 19/03/2018 22:03

@katy16 fingers crossed for you x

@hellotoyellow..we moved into new house a week before dd1 was born and I actually went a few days over due. The House was pretty much still a building site. Spent the week cleaning and trying to get it sorted. Was so happy to be i before baby arrived as everything is so much harder to do with dcs.
Actually would like to have had our new home a year prior to dcs as would have given us the chance to decorate it properly, get pics printed and hung etc. there's so much 5yrs on that I still haven't got round to doing thanks to dc. Sure I'll get there in 20yrs time Grin

Exhaustion kicked in big time today. 7+6. Worked all weekend so could be that but just could not motivate myself today. Dcs had a lot of tv time!! No nausea though which is great.
Someone asked about nausea with prenatal vitamins early and I def had it last time when taking pregnacare. Missed few days and was fine then took them again and was nauseated so stopped all together. Might be the iron in them and the hormones of early pregnancy. This time I'm just taking vit d and folic acid and trying to eat healthily.

FruitandNutty · 20/03/2018 00:52

Currently wide awake after having really painful lower abdomen cramps that woke me up. I’m 4+4 (says Glow app) and my only really symptom has been these weird night cramps. It’s an all-over sort of intense cramp (worse than I’ve had period wise) but then it subsides almost as quickly as it comes on after a few minutes. Is this cause for concern? No bleeding. Sorry if this is a basic one, my first pregnancy and unsure what to expect

sarahhh1984 · 20/03/2018 05:48

@dontquit I was just about to reply to whoever asked about nausea and pregnancy vitamins but can't remember who it was. Know they said they were taking Seven Seas, which is what I'm taking, and my nausea has got worse since I started. And definitely worse than in my last pregnancy when I just took folic acid and vitamin D. Think I'm going to pop to Boots some time this week and get their basic Folic Acid and Vitamin D supplement and just take it alongside a Vitamin C one.

LastNightsMakeUp · 20/03/2018 06:03

@fruitandnutty I hope you managed to get some sleep. I haven’t had the cramping in this or my previous pregnancy but everyone is different and it may be normal for you. I’d say no matter how early into pregnancy you are it won’t hurt giving your gp a call for some advice.

LastNightsMakeUp · 20/03/2018 06:05

@katy16 what a scary time for you. Hope it has eased off and everything crossed for you.

hellotoyellow · 20/03/2018 06:49

@dontquit thanks so much for the encouraging words! Will see...

@sarahhh1984 I was taking the pregnacare liquid but that definitely makes me sick. Thanks for the folic acid and vit D idea!

@katy14 I hope it eases off X

sarahhh1984 · 20/03/2018 07:47

@hellotoyellow DH works by a Boots so he's going to try to get some for me on his lunch break. Will let you know if I feel less sick tomorrow!

FruitandNutty · 20/03/2018 07:59

Thanks @LastNightsMakeUp I think probably okay as it clearly has a night time pattern, probably hormonal. But going to gp today just to get some reassurance. Have to see them anyway to get my mw referral. Just having crazy thoughts about ectopic and the like.. on the upside did another cbd today and progressed to 2-3 weeks.
How are you feeling? Did you sleep better again last night?

toasterstrudle · 20/03/2018 08:20

@FruitandNutty I've had period-like cramps on and off at 4 and 5 weeks in both pregnancies.

Welcome to all the new girls!

When are everyone's appointments? (If you've got them yet). I've got the midwife on Monday for booking in (8 weeks) then 12 week scan is 20th April - a month today!

I've not taken any tests beyond the first two I took on the day of my missed period until today! Woke up with a burning desire to check so did an internet cheapie and got a strong positive. Not sure what else I was expecting as I was being sick straight after!! How's everyone else feeling?

I'm already counting down the days until that first meal after having the baby. I'd forgotten how much my taste buds change and how food is just not the same. I lived on Brie, tomato and basil baguettes last July after having DS!

sarahhh1984 · 20/03/2018 08:35

@toasterstrudle I've had my booking in and early scan so my next appointment is my 12 week scan on 27 April. Once that's over, have to contact mw to make 16 week appointment with her.

My 12 week scan is when I'm 12+2 - very relieved as BIL's partner is with a different hospital and her's isn't until she's nearly 14 weeks. Know it can be any time between 11 weeks and 13+6 but would hate to wait that long!

LastNightsMakeUp · 20/03/2018 08:45

@fruitandnutty that’s good you have an appointment. The hormones can make your mind run wild so a bit of reassurance is always good.
Slept quite well the last couple of nights thanks 😊 still feel exhausted though but I had this last time so I know it’ll get better soon. Real food aversions and nausea seem to have kicked in now, went out for a very nice meal last night and managed about 2 mouthfuls - haven’t actually vomited yet though.

Saraswati · 20/03/2018 08:46

I haven't got my booking in until 10 weeks then I go on holiday so who knows when my scan will be!

With the vitamins I found last time if you take them before bed instead of the morning then it helps with the nausea.

6+1 over here and nausea and vomiting have well and truly kicked in. Not to hg levels like last time but not pleasant. Luckily I'm working from home today so vomited up my porridge in peace! Off to get my haircut so hopefully I can make it through without having to be sick.

LastNightsMakeUp · 20/03/2018 08:48

@toasterstrudle booking in appointment is still a couple of weeks away at 8+3. Self referred to my local hospital online yesterday so expect to get my 12 week scan date soon. Can’t wait, it’s going so slowly!

toasterstrudle · 20/03/2018 09:09

@sarahhh1984 I knew you'd had a scan but missed that you'd had booking app already - that's fab! I'm quite looking forward to mine and just feeling like I'm getting the ball rolling.

@Saraswati oh I'm very jealous of the holiday! Where are you going?

@LastNightsMakeUp I know what you mean about going slowly - I swear the first trimester crawls when you can't tell anyone!

sarahhh1984 · 20/03/2018 09:16

@toasterstrudle Yep, they do them early here. Think I was 5+5 when I had it. It does feel good once you've had the appointment - feels real!

Just wondering if anyone could offer me some advice.

Obviously had my early scan at six weeks and have my 12 week scan booked in for late April, but trying to decide whether to pay for another scan in between. The fact that the sonographer couldn't see the baby's heartbeat right away during the early scan has got me worried. She found it after a few minutes of looking and getting me to hold my breath, and know it was probably to do with my/the baby's position, but that niggling doubt in the back of my mind has me worrying it's because it just wasn't that strong. Know the hospital offers additional private scans for £50 so wondering whether to book one for around eight or nine weeks just for reassurance... What would others do?

LastNightsMakeUp · 20/03/2018 09:30

Ergh just had a couple of dark brown ‘streaks’ after going to the toilet. I guess at 6 weeks it’s normal. I didn’t find out I was pregnant til I was 6-7 weeks last time but don’t think I had it before. I guess I’ll carry on to today’s toddler groups and see if it gets any worse 🤞 Gosh what a horrible feeling!

keepinghopeful · 20/03/2018 09:58

@LastNightsMakeUp dont panic, completely normal, my friend has spotted brown on & off theough her 12 weeks & each scan all has been well - esp when you have strong nausea!!
@toasterstrudle just done another test myself as the anxiety levels are high, at this stage on 2 of my losses my tests would have gone negative but pleased to say strong positive for me too ... im now 4+5/6 days ... still so early!

NoCatsHere · 20/03/2018 10:16

sarahhh i would have the extra scan, but i'm maybe not the best person to ask as i have had 2 losses previously so I'm planning on one at 8/9 weeks so i can feel reassured i've made it past when i lost the last one. also £50 seems like a good price to me.

i'm only 4+1 today. its going to drag so much isn't it?!!! i did at least tell my OH last night and he was so happy. this is our last shot at the third baby, i can't handle the thought of more mc so i'm hoping so much this is going to be ok.

reading back through the previous thread i had an emcs for my first child, then a vbac for the second, so if any wants more info i'm happy to share my thoughts. i'm not thinking too far ahead with what i'd do for this birth....

also i'm taking pregnacare max - literally chucking all money and anything i can at this pregnancy. i haven't felt sick so far, but i don't seem to get any symptoms anyway. maybe a bit tired, but nothing much else.

NoCatsHere · 20/03/2018 10:24

And i'm in east sussex and we can self refer but only after 6 weeks so i have a doctors appointment booked for when i am 6+2 and i will self refer that week as well on line. it's only two weeks away but feels like an eternity!!

olderthanyouthink · 20/03/2018 10:31

@MeredithShepherd I'm with you on the bacon sandwiches!

@Hufflepuffinalltheway just open the link in the OP and add your details to the bottom of the list (don't worry about the ordering)

@toasterstrudle & @sarahhh1984 I've added a couple more columns for 12 week and 20 week scans

I finally emailed my self referral for StThomas' this morning.

Teaisnecessary · 20/03/2018 10:49

@FruitandNutty Hope all goes well at the gp today & you get the reassurance you need. I’ve had cramps for the first few weeks in all of my pregnancies so think it can be normal (if not I exactly fun!) for some of us.

@toasterstruddle I’ve got my scan booked in for early May but not heard anything re booking in etc. This is the first time I’ve had to self refer though, so no idea how it works. I’m getting impatient already & I’m only 5+1! Like others have said, it’s gonna be a slow first trimester!

@sarahhh1984 I’d be tempted to go for the extra scan too, just for the peace of mind it will give you. I’m probably going to similar in week 8/9 too.

@Saraswati ooh a holiday sounds just the thing. I’m wondering whether to squeeze in one last overseas trip before DH & I are outnumbered!
