So impressed with the gym goers! I'm feeling miserable about mine, I went 4-5 times a week until morning sickness hit at 6 weeks and haven't managed since. I went for a swim and had to leave to vomit, a low point! Got given cyclizine a few days ago so hoping that'll help things settle down.

I've already gained 2 kilos!! Hoping it's water but honest to god, it's more than likely the daily irn bru and beige food. On the plus side, I ended up a stone and a half heavier after DS and had lost it by 6 months (thank you breastfeeding and gym classes!) so hoping for similar again.

OlderMumToBe2018 · 07/04/2018 09:33

Hormones can be very unkind - I've been caffeine, nicotine and fizzy drinks free for a year, and now the heaviest I've ever been. It's not baby, it can't be at barely 7wks, but I am hoping it settles down a bit.

GreenMeerkat · 07/04/2018 10:14

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer same here!

I used to be a size 10 and put in 5 stone in my first pregnancy and took me 4 years to lose it again (though there was another pregnancy in between). Now a size 12 due to my c section pouch but did manage to get back to pre pregnancy weight after a LOT of hard work. I just don't have the determination you have to keep going in the gym, I'm just too sick and exhausted. Well done you!!!

Nightmanagerfan · 07/04/2018 10:25

Morning all. I’m so impressed with the gym-goers! I am looking forward to joining my local prenatal yoga class and swimming when I feel better, but started vomiting yesterday and can’t imagine doing any exercise now!

Glad to hear I’m not the only one struggling to Get into my jeans... first baby and only 10+3, but only one pair of trousers fit. I was thinking of wearing stretchy dresses and leggings/tights until I need proper maternity clothes - any other ideas? Friends have put me off bump bands but if anyone has any positive stories let me know!

Saraswati · 07/04/2018 10:39

With dd I was half a stone lighter than pre-preg 2 weeks after birth due to hg! I'm starting this pregnancy a few pounds heavier more than usual due to dp feeding me Grin. This pregnancy I want to put on more weight as after DD with breastfeeding I got too skinny and my milk supply was a bit crappy and my immune system was down. Midwife told me to gain around 1.5 stone from my current weight but most of that should be later on. My size 10s are alreasy a bit tight on the waist after Easter, keeping up with my usual yoga and Pilates but sickness is making it really hard!

bellanotte22 · 07/04/2018 10:54

Baby 3 here too and I have a huge bump. So much so that DD8 has guessed and keeps asking if I'm pregnant!

Nausea had eased but back with a vengeance now. Blaghhh.

I'm so impressed with gym goers. I keep scanning the calendar and trying to work out what I can cancel Grin

Mayah · 07/04/2018 10:55

@TheImprobableGirl @Sarahhh1984 so glad to hear the good news!

Gosh, not half jealous of those who can eat crap and what not. With my constant nausea, can't seem to stomach anything at the moment, especially sweet things!! Rice and pasta are my safest bets and they always go down well. But I've lost 4lbs due to MS and lack of eating.

And to the gym goers.. so proud of you all Grin I dread even walking up a flight of stairs haha! Keep it up

Amarettoplease · 07/04/2018 11:19

Yay for gym goers. Women in my family are tall and naturally slim until they reach 40-50. By that time, they’ve never had to watch what they eat/exercise and become overweight quickly along with typical health problems you might expect. I remember being a bit horrified when my late Nan looked at me and said “look at you, so thin. I used to be just like you!”. My aunts are fighting it but it must be strange for them as they were all so slim when I was younger. I should definitely get into better habits now. I put on 4st last pregnancy which went within a year mostly from breastfeeding I think. I’ve put on 1st so far this time because I’m eating whatever stops me feeling sick. I’ll be better once this stage passes...

Also- at my booking appt I was told I’d be referred to a consultant because what I saw as “his shoulders got a bit stuck but they pulled him out” with DS was shoulder dystocia which is (quite rightly come to think of it) taken seriously. The midwife said I could have a midwife consultant and a plan in place so I didn’t have to rule out birthing in the MLU. She also put a needle in me 3 times and still didn’t get one of the blood samples she needed. I forgot how crap my veins are.

Has anyone got (or considering) having an older DC in a high sleeper with a cot underneath? Not sure how else we can work it without losing too much space once the baby goes in with him and I need to have a plan in my head even though we won’t need to do anything for another year!

AJ89 · 07/04/2018 11:56

Well I’m 9 weeks today and feel like I’ve been pregnant forever lol I know that’s ridiculous but time seems to be dragging. Nausea seems to have subsided over the last few days also don’t know if that’s normal.

MiniMinions · 07/04/2018 12:04

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer it was me with the Fitbit heart rate question. Mine was low for couple of days and then back up to 68 again so maybe I was just being too lazy!!

I'm feeling quite achy today and my right hip has been aching since this morning. Woke up before DS this morning but couldn't get back to sleep as couldn't get comfy!!

Magpie24 · 07/04/2018 12:41

9+2 and actually feeling a bit brighter and less nauseous! Anyone else?

BadBadBeans · 07/04/2018 13:35

Oh I am so pleased to read about the positive scans - yay @TheImprobableGirl and @sarahhh1984 and anyone else i have missed!

Sorry I'm finding it a struggle to post on here at the moment but I am reading along every day! I'm just so exhausted. Pregnancy is definitely different when you already have a child to look after!

Regarding your body after a c-section - I think I was very lucky with mine because even though it was a cat 1 emcs my scar is super tidy and healed well, and I don't have a pouch. You wouldn't know I had had the surgery unless you saw the actual line of the scar. Genuine question now - why don't I have a pouch? Is it because I'm fairly small (size 8) without much 'spare' flesh? Might I get one next time if I have a c-section again? Anyone know of anyone who's had two c-sections and had their tummy remain relatively unscathed?!

@Nightmanagerfan last time round I just lived in my stretchiest jeans until I was about 17 weeks. Then bought maternity jeans and wished I had bought them a month earlier! I liked the skinny mama ones from h&m - very comfy. This time round i will get out the maternity jeans and leggings the moment I feel uncomfortable in my normal jeans, and wear them with ordinary stretchy or floaty tops and dresses until i have a bump big enough to warrant a maternity top.

Went to Bravissimo and got some soft cup bras this morning. My boobs are the comfiest they've ever been! Although I've gone up from a 30GG to a 32H... 😱

I've also fully embraced my maternity jeans and leggings. Last time I struggled on with stretchy jeans and tights until I was 12 weeks but this time I just want to be comfy. If people see my jeans and guess I think I'm past caring. 😂

@Magpie24, glad you're feeling better today. I am too. Only getting the odd wave of nausea now and I'm a lot less tired. Still very hungry all the time though!

MeredithShepherd · 07/04/2018 16:42

I’m 9+5 today and my nausea has virtually gone! Hoping it stays away! Having an Indian takeaway tonight so the first meal in a long time I’m looking forward too!!

marchblossom · 07/04/2018 17:17

@BadBadBeans I had an emergency c-sect and not the tidiest of scars, but didn't get a 'pouch' either. I'm also pretty slim at size 8-10 so I think it's likely just down to weight? Although I must admit that all my fat tends to go on my huge bottom! In fact thinking about it, the only place I got stretch marks last time around was on my bottom so it's definitely true! Grin

MiniMinions · 07/04/2018 17:36

@BadBadBeans yeah I already had a fat tyre but it hasn't changed in size even though have lost weight so am putting that down to the c-section.

I wish I was an 8-10!! The smallest I can remember ever being is a 14!

Ssspider · 07/04/2018 17:37

Hi all. New to this so be kind please Wink. Normally just spectate. Also due mid November. The sickness was awful but now bareable but I’m just totally exhausted. I’m having to go for regular time outs and often in bed just after DD1 (18 months) anyone else utterly wiped out??

TheImprobableGirl · 07/04/2018 17:39

Don’t worry @ssspider , these boards are mostly kind, it’s AIBU where the claws come out Grin

Ssspider · 07/04/2018 17:42

@theimprobablegirl thank you!

Magpie24 · 07/04/2018 18:21

@Ssspider welcome! This is a really friendly and supportive group.

@sarahhh1984 I was far too optimistic with the energy, have spent the afternoon on the sofa wiped out!

TheUbercornMum · 07/04/2018 18:21

Another one with a c section pouch, for some reason it just won't shift. Do you think if I ask nicely I could persuade them to do a tummy tuck after an elcs?! Hehe. I am bigger weight wise for this pregnancy than last time but I really don't want to put too much on as DC1 pregnancy was what did it and intend on getting back to my normal size afterwards. Very impressed with the gym goers! Hopefully once this sickness has shifted I can start on with more healthy eating atm I can only drink fruit juice and fizzy drinks and basically eat what I can keep down which is mostly crap food which isn't like me at all and I hate it!

TheUbercornMum · 07/04/2018 18:22

Welcome also to the newbies!!

OlderMumToBe2018 · 07/04/2018 18:23

@ssspider congratulations and welcome. You're shattered too? I'm hardly seeing past 10pm most nights, and needing an afternoon nap! Just been on a week a/L from work and no idea how things will be on Monday at 8wks.

Nightmanagerfan · 07/04/2018 18:23

Welcome @ssspider! Yes I’m wiped out too though slightly more energy now at 10+3 than before. Rest as much as you can.

Thanks @badbadbeans for the encouragement to go for mat wear. I think I’m a bit reluctant to buy much before the 12 week scan, but I have got a few bits on eBay. I’ve tried the hairband trick on my jeans and it’s so much more comfy! I swear I definitely look pregnant- I wonder if anyone at work has noticed.

Will we need a new thread soon? This one is almost full.

Emma0902 · 07/04/2018 19:48
