Thanks for the new thread Badbeans

Emelene · 19/03/2018 14:57

@january29 - I know the feeling of it going slowly. I'm 7+1 and only got my appointment dates on Friday. Still a few weeks away but it has helped me to have a countdown. Plus Easter in the middle will help. I hope you hear soon! Smile

hellotoyellow · 19/03/2018 15:33

@weejammin
I'm definitely thinking about money - operation clear credit cards in full effect!

Also we wanted to move house from SE to NE London (Walthamstow, probably?) and wondering about trying to do that this summer. Has anyone done that at 30 plus weeks? Would it be mad? Tempted to try and get extra bedrooms before the whole family tries to visit...

SkyLucy · 19/03/2018 16:06

Placemarking on the shiny new thread. I'm 8 weeks today, due 29th October.

I'm in the same boat as you @confuddledconfudle - I have a wonderfully clingy 1yr DD too... the next couple of years are going to be bonkers! I'm being a rubbish mama at the moment... glued to the sofa feeling dreadful and relying heavily on CBeebies :-(

NoCatsHere · 19/03/2018 16:21

Hello, would it be ok to join you all? I wasn't going to as I felt too nervous...this will hopefully be my third baby (I had two miscarriages last year, one at 7 weeks then a mmc at 10weeks) so I'm over the moon it's happened but obviously bricking it too. I haven't told my OH yet, will do when he's back home from work tonight. I'm 4 weeks toady and due 26th November. Exactly one year after my due date that was my mc last year, how weird is that? This thread feels so happy and positive I think it's good to be surrounded by that while I wish the days away to the 12 weeks! I'm busy catching up on the last thread, so much to read through! Im 39, will be 40 when this one is born (hopefully) I have 2 ds already age 7 and 3.

MammyDC · 19/03/2018 17:20

Ah jeepers, I’ll never keep up ☹️ How do people work out what’s going on? Also my phone makes me log in every time despite clicking ‘remember password’. Can we set up a private Facebook page or is there some sort of structure to posting? X

MammyDC · 19/03/2018 17:22

Me too, already feeling guilty that no1 is not going to get all the attention and we won’t be able to do the thins with no2 we did with no1 and don’t even get me started on the poor neglected cats! X

Magpie24 · 19/03/2018 17:36

Placemarking. 6+5 and eating like a horse to stave off sickness! My trousers already feel a little tight...

My diet has gone quite carb heavy which isn't like me at all. So bought a big salad for dinner.

And still spotting which is getting me down a little. Although it's still brown and hasn't gotten any worse, I just wish it would stop as it doesn't help my health anxiety. Going to explore some CBT as if it wasn't this I think I would just worry about something else.

Cupcakesandlove · 19/03/2018 17:47

HI as there are a lot of vegans and vegetarians on here im wondering what do you i have a massssive food aversion to meat and dairy and as these are usually a big part of my diet i have no clue what to eat im relying heavily on salt and vinegar crisps! Obviously thats not the best

TinyPaws · 19/03/2018 17:55

Congrats to the new peeps!

@confuddledconfudle We have the same due date!

Nightmanagerfan · 19/03/2018 18:05

@MammyDC there are a couple of Facebook groups - one is massive (I didn’t join that one) and another small one that hasn’t got going yet. Someone will be along in a minute to let you know how to join.

It’s a very supportive and upbeat thread so I encourage you to hang around!

Sorry to hear so many ppl feeling anxious and nauseous too. My nausea is constant but I’ve worked out that eating the moment I get up, followed by a high carb diet and busy day is the best distraction! This weekend I felt awful but I’ve got through today at work feeling ok - probably because I haven’t had to think about it!

confuddledconfudle · 19/03/2018 18:18

@SkyLucy I'm being rubbish as well, when my dh arrived home from work I went for a lie down in bed it is a bank holiday where I am today and luckily I am on leave the rest of the week. No idea how I am going to function when I go back to work next week.

@TinyPaws exciting! It will be lovely to have someone to link in with. I have moved to a new area since last pregnancy. So I have no idea what way it works here with booking appointments and Midwife appointments so I plan to call the GP surgery tomorrow.

Aussi · 19/03/2018 19:04

@cupcakesandlove yes also very interested to hear veggie tips! The thought of meat or eggs makes me feel v.sick which is unlike me.

Magpie24 · 19/03/2018 19:22

@Cupcakesandlove @Aussi I've been a veggie for 16 years. How about a veg and bean chilli? A risotto made in the oven with peppers, onion and lots of herbs. Roast veg with pittas and hummus. Cooked breakfast dinner: veg sausage, beans, hash browns, toast. Lentil dhal. Sweet potato and green bean biryani. Pasta bake with lots of mushrooms, sweet corn and broccoli.

Have focused on meals without much dairy there but if you can manage yoghurt/cheese, try roasted aubergines with Greek yoghurt, nuts and pomegranate. Roasted potatoes with asparagus, halloumi and lemon. Poached eggs on toast with avocado. Roasted tomatoes with capers, black olives and feta, served with pasta. Quiche with new potatoes and salad.

AJ89 · 19/03/2018 19:25

Oo as if we’re on to thread #2 already! Hope everyone is having a good day x

wejammin · 19/03/2018 19:28

cupcakes how about jacket potato and beans or houmous, pasta with roasted veggies, veg chilli or curry and rice, avocado on toast, veg stir fry with lots of nuts and seeds

Teaisnecessary · 19/03/2018 19:46

This thread is making me hungry!

BadBadBeans · 19/03/2018 19:50

@belkins welcome! How exciting to have a totally natural pregnancy after everything you've been through! Fingers firmly crossed for you. Great that you are under consultant care already.

Welcome @bellanotte22 @confuddledconfudle @NoCatsHere and @KW1987 - my symptoms have been coming and going too KW1987. Today I feel no different to normal and I'm 5+4. Also, the test line is bound to be light when you're that early on! I know it's hard, but try not to worry :)

@wejammin Yep, we just had a bit of a think about finances come November if all goes well with the pregnancy. I'm going to put my DS into nursery an extra day a week (he only does 1 day at the moment) which should enable me to take on an extra freelance project a month. Hopefully we will then be able to tuck a little more money away. Nursery isn't very expensive down here in Devon so it's worth doing for us.

@sarahhh1984 glad to hear the sample was clear! Hope your DH gets his promotion.

@MeredithShepherd Actually, I feel like it's going quite fast! Faster than last time, anyway. Maybe because I've got a 20 month old and all the attendant chaos?!

@Magpie24 I definitely know the feeling of moving from one worry to the next. Have you had CBT before? I had it in my early twenties, then again when DS was quite little and I found it very helpful both times. I am already noticing this week that my anxiety around germs / bacteria / health is leaping up and affecting my daily life. It makes me feel utterly exhausted. Going to crack out the CBT techniques and try and deal with it. With DS, I got referred through my health visitor to a perinatal anxiety group - for pregnant women and women with babies under 12 months. It was an absolute lifeline. Might be worth asking your midwife if your area offers anything similar.

Yay new thread!

6 weeks today

Having to eat constantly to stop myself from feeling sick and mostly carbs (just had a huge bowl of spaghetti).

Teaisnecessary · 19/03/2018 20:10

@hellotoyellow I did! I was 38 weeks on Move Day. Looking back I think I was a bit mad tbh! Grin We didn’t plan to cut it so fine, it’s just the way it turned out. If I could go back in time, I’d do it again, but I’d have started looking earlier and drafted in more people to help pack up etc - I really struggled being heavily pregnant and on my feet for long periods doing this. On the plus side, I reckon it’s easier than doing it with a newborn in tow and we were very glad of the extra space, so it was worth it for us.

Tyrionsbitch · 19/03/2018 20:38

Not been feeling very pregnant today... so took another test 😁 I must have taken about 15 in total now. For some reason I just can't believe that i'm really pregnant 😂
Need to start being grateful that the sickness hasn't started yet!

MeredithShepherd · 19/03/2018 20:39

Wow so many veggies and vegans in here! I could never not eat meat or dairy, I like bacon sandwiches and cheese too much!

Magpie24 · 19/03/2018 20:51

@BadBadBeans I've not had CBT but I have had talking therapy. CBT would be the next step. Spoke to my healthcare provider at work today and hopefully will get a referral soon. That group sounds amazing. I will certainly ask. Thank you so much for the tip. Smile

Hufflepuffinalltheway · 19/03/2018 20:51

Not sure how to add myself to the spreadsheet.
Found out I’m pregnant a few days ago and I am 4+5 today.
I’m quite nervous as I had a early miscarriage at 6+3 in January, so I’m pretty terrified but feeling optimistic!
Mainly got cramps, dead legs and so tired!
Congrats everyone, hope you’re all feeling okay. xx

Potkettleblack2 · 19/03/2018 20:52

I have just had Percy pigs, a whispa, and a packet of crisps for my dinner. I really need to start eating healthy food, but in the evenings I just don't feel like it!
