This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer, I'm the same! I was 30F before I had DD. Went up to 32G in that pregnancy and they never went back down again. And now they've definitely got bigger again as I'm busting out of my normal bras. Think I'll have to make a Bravissimo trip sooner rather than later as I'm getting the only thing worse than monoboob: quadruple-boob!

MiniMinions · 17/03/2018 20:15

@marchblossom luckily booking appt with midwife is in Easter holidays so I expect will have to come clean before scan as will need to ask for time off to attend appointment - didn't have this problem last time as managed to time it with holidays!! I was hoping to stay on until Oct half term but I expect will leave week or two before that as due start of November.

BadBadBeans · 17/03/2018 21:03

@LastNightsMakeUp must be helpful to have medical knowledge! Yes 15 weeks does feel late to discover something is wrong.

@hellotoyellow I would rather know early too. It just feels like so much money when I'm only working part time... Hmm. Last time we found out the gender with the Harmony too, which helped make something that came from a place of anxiety into something a bit nicer. My husband doesn't want to know this time though!

@SakuraSunrise it says on the NHS website that halloumi is okay to eat. I cannot imagine that there would be anything unpasteurized in that dip. I was super duper paranoid about what I ate in my first pregnancy and I would have eaten that without thinking about it! Does it actually have egg in it?

BadBadBeans · 17/03/2018 21:06

I have been permanently hungry since yesterday afternoon. Nothing is touching it. I just had a second helping of chickpea curry and rice and added some cheese, and I'm still ravenous. Arrrrggggghhhhhh!

Teaisnecessary · 17/03/2018 21:12

Wow, so many messages to catch up on!

Oh @thesticksong, I’m sorry to hear that and really hope it’s not as you fear.

@Picklesandpies glad you’re feeling better about things now. I’ve had to step away from the tests too as they were proving more of a source of anxiety than reassurance. Easier said than done, though thankfully I have no more left in the house!

@AJ89 I was Consultant lead with DS2. I didn’t have any additional scans, just a couple of additional appointments with a registrar (I never actually met the Consultant I was under).

Nice to see so many veggies & vegans on here! Smile The only thing I’ve struggled with diet & pregnancy-wise has been anaemia. Unfortunately I couldn’t get my iron levels up with the likes of Floradix and Spatone, so I’m resigned to the fact it will be iron tablets & the not so lovely side effects again this time around!

Got my 12 week scan letter through today for first week of May. So long to wait!

Teaisnecessary · 17/03/2018 21:22

Have any third-timers had any thoughts about how they’re going to manage 3 child seats in the car? I know its waaaay too early. But our finance deal is nearly up on our current car, so the issue has been forced early. We viewed the Multimac today but were a bit disappointed, so think we’re going to have to upsize nearer the time. Surprised how few models fit 3 seats across the second row...

Teaisnecessary · 17/03/2018 21:24

Sorry, forgot to add above that I’m long term veggie.

Picklesandpies · 17/03/2018 21:24

@Teaisnecessary we already have a Citroen Grand Picasso and it is excellent. Space for three isofix car seats, huge boot, extra two seats in the back if required. Would highly recommend it!

wejammin · 17/03/2018 22:43

@Teaisnecessary we already have a knackered old Peugeot807 that we use for all our camping gear and driving friends about. It will take 3 on the middle row and still have a massive boot, thank goodness!

marchblossom · 18/03/2018 05:12

Hi @Teaisnecessary don't suffer with the side effects of normal iron tablets - try the Garden of Life ones! Seriously a game changer for me, as I also suffer with low iron (even before I was vegan a it's hereditary) You can buy them on amazon, or just get the prenatal which has some iron in too (not as much).

Well our car's just been written off so I suppose that's good timing Grin Will need to look for a wider car/7seater.

Picklesandpies · 18/03/2018 07:28

@LastNightsMakeUp Morning (been awake for ages!) May I ask where you had your private 12 week on Harley Street please? I might go somewhere local for an early scan but it sounded as though you had a good experience and I'd prefer to go somewhere that is recommended. We are probably going to have the Panorama test too but I think they do that locally. I'm in Hampshire by the way if anyone has any further recommendations! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

TheStickSong · 18/03/2018 07:47

Dear Everyone - thank you for your kind thoughts. It is definitely a loss; I have had two solid days of heavy bleeding with some clots. The EPU isn't open until tomorrow but I'm not going to waste their time - I no longer feel pregnant.

Although I'm sad, I was only knowingly pregnant for about three days and it was such a surprise I hadn't really got excited yet. Plus the miscarriage coincided with picking up our first puppy which has proved to be a wonderful salve. A sleepy baby pup on your tummy is more effective than any hot water bottle and since I'm awake with cramps anyway, I haven't been too bothered by the night crying and trips to the toilet!

So don't feel too sad for me. I won't post here again but I might pop along in November to see how you are all getting along. I wish you all happy, healthy pregnancies. xx

Picklesandpies · 18/03/2018 07:53

Hi @TheStickSong. So sorry to hear that - but I'm glad you seem 'ok'. I'm glad your new puppy is proving to be a good distraction. Fingers crossed you get another BFP soon. Thanks

Saraswati · 18/03/2018 08:04

Oh I am sorry @thesticksong a friend of mine suffered something similar recently and it is very sad. I hope puppy cuddles can help you grieve.

@picklesandpie where in Hampshire are you? I'm in Winchester, only moved here in January from Surrey but really loving it so far.

hellotoyellow · 18/03/2018 08:18

@theStickSong I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you get a sticky bean soon X

Picklesandpies · 18/03/2018 08:18

@Saraswati I'm not too far from Winchester. I'll pm you where I am as don't want to risk outing myself but I'll have to wait until I'm on the laptop as don't think I can do it on the app?

AJ89 · 18/03/2018 08:36

@mrsftigalar @skylucy thanks for the info, yes thought it might just be more monitoring which can only be good!

AJ89 · 18/03/2018 08:37

@thesticksong so sorry to hear that Flowers

sarahhh1984 · 18/03/2018 09:00

So sorry to hear that, @TheStickSong. Hope the puppy cuddles help and I'm wishing you all the best for the future. Thanks

TinyPaws · 18/03/2018 09:08

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining this thread.

About me: I'm Tiny, 32, in a same sex relationship, and I recently conceived following donor IUI. This is my first pregnancy. I know exactly when I ovulated so my actual due date is 28th November (from what I hear the NHS might insist on basing my EDD on LMP which would make it 25th November).

I had a couple of EXTREMELY faint lines on cheap tests yesterday and the day before and a good strong line on a FRER this morning. I'm only 11dpo, my next step is to phone the fertility clinic on Wednesday and report the pregnancy to them. Due to the increased risk of ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and multiple pregnancy I will have an early scan at approx 6 weeks.

I can't wait to get to know you all - I'll be reading back through this thread for the rest of the morning - it's so long already!

Do I have a due date twin on here?

Pumpkin2018 · 18/03/2018 09:12

Is anybody else not sleeping well at night, I remember it happening with dd but not until much later when it was more bump, kicks and needing the toilet. At the moment I just keep waking up through the night feeling dehydrated and rough.

olderthanyouthink · 18/03/2018 09:33

@TheStickSong I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you have better luck in the future

@TinyPaws hi, congrats, there's a list here of most people and their EDDs

Picklesandpies · 18/03/2018 09:40

@olderthanyouthink I didn't know there was a list of EDD. Think mine is 18th November.

olderthanyouthink · 18/03/2018 09:43

@Picklesandpies I made it because the list in the thread was getting messy.

It should probably go in the OP of the next thread. I'll add some scan columns in a bit too.

TinyPaws · 18/03/2018 10:09

@olderthanyouthink Thanks, that's really handy, can I add myself to it?
