This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

@toasterstrudle I have a 19 month gap between DC1 and DC2 and whilst it was hard to start with. It's amazing now. They're best friends. *immediately gets pregnant with DC3 to ruin it all 🙄🙈🤦‍♀️

billie11 · 26/02/2018 19:18

Sooooo this just happened!!! My last period started 28th Jan so in theory due 4th Nov! This will be number one so freaking out a little bit...!! Was going to wait to test in the morning but just had to POAS! Took all of about 20 seconds to change, feels really surreal! I know it's early days but... omfg!! What do I do now?!?? X

MeredithShepherd · 26/02/2018 19:54

Hi billie!!! Yay and congratulations!!! You’re due the day before me! Next thing to do is ring your doctors and either get them to make an appt with the midwife or give you the number for you to do it. You’ll need a booking in appt which takes about 90 mins. Mine is booked for 3rd April when I’ll be 9 weeks. Welcome to the November club!

@billie11 congratulations! Welcome to the rollercoaster! @MeredithShepherd has put it in a nutshell, although I haven't rung the dr. To book in yet. I need to let it sink In!

FireworksBaby · 26/02/2018 20:21

Another one here, positive test this morning! Due 2/11/18 according to the calendar thing I used straight afterwards.
This is number 3 for me too, but has taken 7 years to get over non-sleeping DC2, so such a big gap I can't remember how everything is meant to work and when you start making appointments, etc.
I've not got any bloating yet, but have got really appalling wind, so I think it's just that all the trapped air is being released immediately Blush.

MeredithShepherd · 26/02/2018 20:45

Congrats and welcome Fireworks! Mine is due 5/11 so I’ve been suggesting bonfire night themed names to dp. He’s just looking at me like Hmm
What’s wrong with gunpowder or firework? Slebs would snap them up Grin

Thanks @MeredithShepherd and @bangwhistle looks like I'm ringing the docs tomorrow then. Seems like such a quick change between the wait and suddenly that's it pregnant! Don't think it has sunk in yet! Welcome @FireworksBaby a little Guy Fawkes on the way!!! We need a fireworks emoji for this group!

anyfreeusernames · 26/02/2018 22:43

yep me got my bfp today approx due date is 4th Nov i think!

FireworksBaby · 26/02/2018 22:46

@Meredith I'm trying to think of fireworks themed names now, can't get beyond Guy (Fawkes) and Catherine (Wheel)!
@billie no matter how expected it's still a surprise! Also doesn't seem at all real yet...

toasterstrudle · 27/02/2018 08:43

@bangwhistle that's reassuring - thank you!

Bit nervous about telling my work as I'm still on mat leave from one job and starting a new one in April Blush but will just need to see what they say. Won't qualify for mat leave but should get maternity allowance thank goodness!

How is everyone today? Love the idea of the fireworks themed names!

Pumpkin2018 · 27/02/2018 09:51

Welcome and congratulations everyone.
Just changed my username from snowflake16 which was the name of bump1 to pumpkin which is what we're calling this little one due to potentially arriving on Halloween.
Love the idea of Autumn type names for these little ones. Catherine for a girl is already very high on my list, I like traditional names.
All my symptoms have gone for now, trying not to worry because this is what happened with dd, I was convinced I'd had a missed miscarriage so I booked in for a private scan a 9 weeks and of course everything was fine.
Anybody made the booking in appointment with the midwife yet. I'm putting it off because my mil is one of the receptionists and I don't want her to potentially find out just yet.

SakuraSunrise · 27/02/2018 09:57

Hello everyone, can I join you? AF was due today, cycle 2 ttc DC2 (DS is 2). I tested this morning not expecting anything as I've had had no symptoms and got a very strong BFP within seconds! Nearly fell off the loo seat in shock!! Shock

EDD is the 6th of November, but DS arrived 7 weeks early so I'm mentally preparing myself that it may well be end of September/October, although I have everything crossed that won't happen again as it was a very scary experience. I spoke to my GP before ttc and she was very reassuring that there is no reason to think it would happen again and I'll be very closely monitored to make sure.

I didn't tell DH this morning as he was in a massive rush for work, so going to tell him tonight!

Eak! So nervous yet excited!

SakuraSunrise · 27/02/2018 10:00

Ps I'm loving the bonfire themed names! I'm working from home today and so trying to focus on work but I'm feeling so shell shocked!!

Pumpkin2018 · 27/02/2018 10:11

Congratulations SakuraSunrise
Came up with some names
Girls
Autumn, Amber, Catherine, Hazel, Saffron, Scarlett, Willow
Boys
Ash, Guy, Phoenix, Roman, Rusty

SakuraSunrise · 27/02/2018 10:21

Thanks @Pumpkin2018, I've just tested again with non FMU and there is absolutely no mistaking there is a second line, I feel so surreal! Re the autumn names you could always do a gwyneth and go for Apple!Grin

Klake17 · 27/02/2018 10:54

Hey! Can I join? Baby number 3 here too, due 3rd nov! feeling very nervous about having 3 but very excited too. Made my booking in appointment today for 13th March Smile

NovDoe · 27/02/2018 11:32

Hi everyone!

Also a bit shellshocked and struggling to concentrate on work.

Doesn't feel real at all though, in spite of doing 3 separate tests so far. I suspect I might have to do a couple more before it starts to sink in.

SakuraSunrise · 27/02/2018 11:49

Hi @Klake17 and @NovDoe, I'm trying so hard to get some work done but just can't stop my mind wondering! Think it will feel more real when I tell DH tonight, feeling excited but nervous about saying it out loud!

MeredithShepherd · 27/02/2018 11:57

Hi, welcome and congrats to everyone! I’m so excited I want to shout it from the roof tops!!!

@Klake17 so many third babies. I hope it's a sign it's going to be brilliant because I'm crapping my pant about this too. Even though this baby is much wanted, I'm more of a toddler person. I find the baby stage hard going. I'm getting. Lots of cramping and am on high knicker alert as i have SCHs for both my previous DCs. Usually about the 6 week mark, so expecting a trip to the EPU. I'm trying to carry on as normal, but it's so hard, and I haven't got the crippling exhaustion/can't walk part yet.

dontquit · 27/02/2018 12:46

@bangwhistle..what's SCHs?

Welcome to everyone else that's arrived. So exciting yet also very scary contemplating having a 3rd dc! Dh wondering what we'll do about car seats! Def can not afford a new car this year so going to have to figure out a way to squeeze in 3 somehow!
Also trying to figure out when to tell close friend who's had several failed attempts at ivf. Want to wait a few weeks as had early Mc at 7wks before and don't want to cause her upset if it turns out not to work out. But she will be doing another round in April and don't want to wait until then causing her upset before she starts or during her tww. I know she will be happy but naturally devastated for herself too. Hate this part of it!!

Klake17 · 27/02/2018 12:47

Lots of cramping here too which I don’t remember from my previous pregnancies but DH says I’m being paranoid and did get cramping with them!

toasterstrudle · 27/02/2018 14:18

@Klake17 I had cramping on and off until 6/7 weeks with my first, some light bleeding at times too. Have had some cramps this time and expect them to continue for a bit.

whiningandwining · 27/02/2018 14:26

Can't remember who asked sorry, but my eldest is 3.
I was getting some cramping but that seems to have stopped. I have no symptoms at the moment, and even though it's early days and I know it's silly, that's making me worry! I hoped time two would be more relaxed!

bangwhistle · 27/02/2018 16:38

@dontquit SCH is a sub chorionic hematoma- basically a bruise between your womb lining which bleeds. Can be big and threaten the baby or small and just a bit like having a 4 month long period. Both of mine were small thank goodness.

Mine will be 3 and 5. I don't want to get another car either. I think there is a thing you can buy which means you can get three car seats along the back. That's what I think we'd get.

All this feels a bit like tempting fate though. Does anyone else feel like they have such good luck already that going for number three is just asking for trouble?
