This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

Can I join you all? First time Mum and got BFP last night. I’m still in shock - I was getting cramps so assumed my period was on its way.

Due date 1st November according to the NHS calculator.

Feeling fine so far!

Nightmanagerfan · 27/02/2018 20:19

Oh and I’d read about self-referral so I filled in a form on my local hospital’s website rather than going via my GP. Was that the right thing to do or should I call the practice to check? I was trying to be efficient!

bangwhistle · 27/02/2018 21:39

@Nightmanagerfan congratulations! It's a whole new crazy world! I think it differs depending on where you are but if you're worried you could just call and mention it to your dr. It'll be a few weeks before anything happens. Anyway, welcome to type club!

MrsMermaid · 27/02/2018 21:50

Congratulations everyone! This baby will be my number two Smile I'm not sure when I'm due as I know I ovulated late but think it will be early November. I had a sickness bug on Sun/Mon so hoping the constant queasy feeling is a hangover from that and not pregnancy sickness. I know it didn't start this early last time! Has anyone else felt sick really early before?

Nightmanagerfan · 27/02/2018 22:30

Thanks so much @bangwhistle - I’ll give the Receptionist a call and see what they say. Yes it’s a completely new world. I don’t feel any different (yet).

@mrsmermaid congrats to you too!

dontquit · 27/02/2018 23:36

Felt really queasy all day today too. Just 5 weeks today so it's very early. Had no sickness with previous pregnancies hence here I am on no.3!! Hope this is not a sign of things to come. Felt much better tonight so had a huge bowl of pasta and now feel 9mths pregnantSmile

whiningandwining · 28/02/2018 07:55

Think referral varies area to area. With my first I had to book via my doctors, but this time I've filled in a self referral online. Got a call back and appointment arranged within two hours so pretty good!

toasterstrudle · 28/02/2018 08:35

My sickness didn't kick in until 6/7 weeks with my first but I'm so nauseous already as well. Noooo!!

sarahhh1984 · 28/02/2018 09:07

Hi ladies, can I join in please? Got my BFP a couple of days ago and due 7 November so I’m 4 weeks today and this will be DC2. DD is 10 months. We were trying but weren’t expecting it to happen so quickly so a little bit surprised but very happy.

Currently incredibly tired and have a little bit of brown spotting (sorry, tmi) but had this last time at 4 weeks so not worrying about it unless it changes. Will just mention it to mw at my booking in (12 March) otherwise.

Congratulations on all your BFPs!

sarahhh1984 · 28/02/2018 09:24

Oh, and re: self-referral, @Nightmanagerfan, it does depend where you live. I’m in Liverpool and the hospital here offers self-referral so you can bypass the GP if you wish. If you go to the GP, they’ll give you a check up (sometimes) but then just give you the self-referral number to call.

AJ89 · 28/02/2018 19:13

Hi everyone! I got my bfp yesterday and this will be my first baby hopefully! This is my 2nd pregnancy as I had a miscarriage back in December. I’m glad others are saying they are bloated too, I couldn’t fasten my work trousers this morning and had to cover the buttons up! Hope everyone is well :)

FireworksBaby · 28/02/2018 20:18

Hello to all the new joiners!

Still haven't done anything about self-referral as DS2 was home poorly today. I am definitely feeling queasy at times, but have been very, very sick through both previous pregnancies, so no surprises there.

Pumpkin2018 · 28/02/2018 21:37

Welcome to everybody new.
I've had some really bad cramping today which I don't remember having with dd, I've been to the toilet so many times expecting to see something and so relieved when I haven't.
I'm 5 weeks today and must sort out my booking in appointment soon, I've know since 3w+4 but for some reason this time it doesn't seem real

bangwhistle · 28/02/2018 21:51

@FireworksBaby I self referred today will see the midwife first week April. I was putting it off because it felt like fate but I think now it's just better to be in the system.

@AJ89 sorry to hear of your loss. You'll know this already but you're statistically less likely to miscarry after a miscarriage so hoping for a sticking bean for you.

@Pumpkin2018 I know what you mean. I've known since about then too, but time is dragging way more than I thought it would with two DCs and a part time career to take care of. I guess it's still just sinking in. I've had lots of cramping too. I do remember it being pretty noticeable in previous pregnancies for me so I'm not worrying. I am looking particularly gorgeous at the moment though with enormous sore boobs, enormous bloating, enormous cold sores, ulcers and bloody conjunctivitis. 🤦‍♀️

AJ89 · 28/02/2018 22:03

@bangwhistle thanks, hope so, fingers crossed!!

Nightmanagerfan · 28/02/2018 22:04

Congratulations everyone and to the new people on the thread. Interesting lots of you already have a booking in appointment- my self referral seems to have gone into the ether...

NovDoe · 01/03/2018 08:03

I have made an appointment at my doc instead of self referring. Is that an unnecessary extra step?

MeredithShepherd · 01/03/2018 08:28

Hi to all the new joiners!
We have a snow day off work today. I work at the nursery my son goes too so it will be a day of snowman building I imagine.
I am tempted to find my old maternity slouchy trousers I kept from the last time (for those nights you have a really big Chinese) but once I’m in them I won’t want to go back to non maternity jeans I know. I’m so bloated it needs to go down or like AJ I’m going to have to do something with the button on my work trousers!

Wasn’t going to join as I’m having a bit of a bad time but I think what the heck!

I got my bpf on Tuesday periods have always been 25 days apart from last month had 28 day. Last af was 31.01.
Went to epu yesterday got quite confusing advice, but on the whole was told looks like a chemical... she was awful and there is more on my thread in the conception boards.
I’ve not had any bleeding thank god and I took a test today which is darker than Tuesdays.
So with the help of god I see this through to November. But if I don’t then I would still very much see myself as part of this thread.
As for today I am pregnant and due between 4-7 of November

Anyone else with a November 2018 baby yet?
Klake17 · 01/03/2018 09:42

@Cupcakesandlove I’ve just caught up on your other thread, really hope you keep getting positives Smile
Anyone else having insane hunger? I can’t stop eating! Also my cramping seems to have stopped so hoping that’s a good sign, I forgot how nerve wracking early pregnancy is!!

sarahhh1984 · 01/03/2018 09:48

Called the EPAU this morning as I was getting a bit concerned about the spotting. It only lasted a few hours with DD but has been dragging on a bit although very light. MW was lovely and very reassuring. She said based on what I was describing it was probably nothing to worry about so she said if it goes away/doesn’t get any heavier to do another hpt in a week’s time and, assuming it’s still a BFP to call again and they’ll book me in for an early scan to check all is well. Obviously if it gets heavy or painful in the meantime I should get back in touch with them.

Had to have this with DD as well so not too worried. Just will try not to think about it too much!

SakuraSunrise · 01/03/2018 11:02

Fingers crossed for you @sarahhh1984, I had spotting with DS at 5 weeks and 11 weeks, but scans at 7 weeks and 12 weeks confirmed everything was fine. I'm mentally preparing for the same to happen with this pregnancy.

I called my GP this morning and they just asked me to self refer to the midwife, so I did, booking appointment is 28th of March.

I told DH on Tuesday evening, he was shocked but very happy and said with DS he was majorly terrified whereas this time he's majorly excited, but still minorly terrified, I agreed that's exactly how I feel!

We're both not sure on when to tell close family, we see them a lot and I don't think we'll be able to hide it till 12 weeks, but currently it seems too early. What do you all plan to do? We definitely won't tell anyone outside of close family till the 12 week scan.

Cupcakesandlove · 01/03/2018 11:22

THis is our second pregnancy we have a dd who is two, three in November.
We had such a hard time when I was pregnant with her I thought this time would be different, but no currently just if not more frightening!
I’m so anxious and will prob pay for a private scan at 8 weeks... if I get there.
I also don’t do announcements or anything. My mum knows but no one else will until it’s blatently obvious. We tried for over a year and it pained me when I saw status’ plus it’s such a hard time for me with my anxiety I don’t want it out there if that makes sense

Cupcakesandlove · 01/03/2018 11:23

Also forgot to add how typical I’ve got a job interview today, as I took two years off to look after my daughter and now she’s in nursery!

sarahhh1984 · 01/03/2018 14:04

Thanks @SakuraSunrise. It’s pretty much identical to how it happened in my first pregnancy, almost down to the day the bleeding started. I kind of half expected it to happen so hopefully early scan will show all is well again and that will be that.

We’ve told our parents and our brothers. But won’t tell anyone else until the 12 week scan. Only reason we’ve told the people we have is when I had bleeding last time, I felt very isolated because I couldn’t get through to DH in work and no one else knew I was pg. So we’ve told close family this time so that we have some support.

Also, BIL’s partner is currently pg and only two weeks ahead of me so we wanted to share the news with them.
